I love going to Sand lake during off season

It was really busy later in the day. I had a lot more footage but I could not use it due to wind noise. I’m gonna buy a case to stop wind noise for future videos.

@@MixinGasGarage Are you filming with a GoPro?
Try using a piece of synthetic fur adhered over the microphone ports, it makes a Huge diference cutting out wind noise! And its cheap/free and better than almost all alternatives.
Your buddy sold his XRS? Are looking for another local X3 to ride with that wants to get into interesting terrain and areas?

@@101rotarypower my friend sold his Xrs but he’s going to be jumping into a new car here in the next month or so.
I mean I would always be open to new people to ride with. I don’t ride much and I wish I got out more.
Yes it is a hero 7 black. And that is what I was looking into for the mic

@@MixinGasGarage Same here, I would love to get some kind of scheduled rides going, I don’t see many groups that do that locally.
Give the fur a shot, works wonders on my snowboarding POV cams, and it fixes almost all of the issues caused by wind.

What tires are you thinking about?
I really want to know the difference between the SS360, SS360HP, and a set of sand tires unlimited front Tributes and rear Blackbirds or if I am way off the mark for our sand?
Exact sizing confuses me also...How do we know what width to choose and offset in each of those tires to keep the "Load" in a safe window for the belt? Having trouble finding info to optimize a selection.

We have a buddy who had tributes up front. He likes them. I really like them, they just come in 31s and not 32s but personal preference. And it looks like the ss360 would be good with harder pack sand but at least where I ride it doesn’t quite have enough of a paddle on them to be effective i think.
Also clutch tuning does wonders for helping belt life

    • @101rotarypower
      @101rotarypower 3 роки тому +1

@@MixinGasGarage That’s why I am curious about the SS360HP. Is that enough bite to consider over a dedicated paddle I wonder? I have not seen much feedback on the SS tire versions for durability or how it compares with other popular choices on weight. I completely agree with you, but Sand is just hard on belts, even with good clutching. I think if a slightly conservative choice is made it will really help decrease the maximum stress on the belt when running it hard. Seems like people tend to over paddle and not get clutching right, I think if you get the right balance you will be able to push on it hard and not worry so much about blowing belts and covers.

@@101rotarypower I don’t really know On the HP version. I’m not finding much on it. no matter what you do belts don’t last as long on the sand. Once you clutch it and everything, a smart thing to do is get a infrared belt temp gauge by razor back or someone. Also look at it for where after every time out.
The worlds best belt also holds up better then stock belts.

@@MixinGasGarage Absolutely, I have a 3.1 razorback gauge NIB I am looking to sell if you know anyone interested, thinking I want to change to the AIM gauge, I like the quick look history and use AIM Mychron dashes on our karts, so familiar with and like their products.
Know anyone that wants to buy a New in box razorback 3.1 inferred temp gauge by chance?

@@MixinGasGarage If you are doing any shopping around for sand tires, I would be Very interested to know what you decide on! And especially if you know people that have lots of experience with tire selection, I read as much as I can, but AFAICT, you just need to try them and decide for yourself...And I don't have access to all these tires or budget to test them all out, so stick to asking around and trying to form a solid opinion of what will work, and hope I guess what will work best for me. Hell the horns seem like a decent tire on sand, they just don't have any off the line performance, like to dig from a standstill, and really are not that puncture resistant to dunes roots and sticks which I am concerned about because I like to push myself into compromising positions and explore . I am not sure where the best balance is, if its better to error on the side of weight and durability or performance and drivetrain efficiency.
