My family got a 10 yr old Toyota Wish for dirt cheap. It was 150,000 yen! Its in good condition and comfortable to drive. One day I asked a repairman who always takes care of our car for a periodic vehicle inspection. He told me that our previous car was getting old(it was 20ys old), so we should get a new car paying the same price as the inspection. He found a nice car (Wish) at the auction:) I thought it was a steal !
