I usually take out the middleman when I can. So divide 420 by 12 in the first one. 35, done. 5+6=11, (one quarter of 44, so quadruple-5x4-) 20, done. 10% is equal to moving the decimal one to the left. So if 10% is 24, add 12 (which is half of this 10% so it equals 5%). 36. subtract 36, done. The last one though... I haven't found a middleman to remove.
