Great to see Pierre speaking to Quebec commentators. He really needs to get his message across to Quebec’s. As a former Quebec resident now living in Alberta there was always only two parties to choose between. If you were against separation you voted Liberal. If you were in favour of separation you voted for the Bloc. The Conservatives lacked support by Quebecers as they were seen as the party who would cut social benefits. Anyone who is familiar with Quebec knows that they have a greater number of social programs than the other provinces that ironically benefit from oil and gas revenue through equalization payments. Alberta has been subsidizing these payments to other provinces for several years. What is really sad however is the lack of knowledge that Canadians have from East to West. The geologically and diverse differences really should be taught to our younger generations so that Canadian unity can prevail. Unfortunately our government prefers to divide and separate Canadians by making both sides ignorant of the values each process. Pierre offers the opportunity to put biases aside and live together in a vibrant, democratic and prosperous country. Why not give him the support in achieving such goals?
