Did I really just watch a bear get arrested
Yes, yes you did
What a strange experience it must be, as a polar bear, to be confronted with a helicopter.
I saw Churchill and thought of Winston Churchill. Then I thought why would he have needed to protect himself against polar bears ? 🤔
GavinM91 Me too. Lol
GavinM91 same...
Lol, I thought it was some kind of metaphor where bears were Nazis or sth
Me too
HAHAHA... Me too. Them I felt rather stupid after realizing it really made no sense for it to Winston. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought it was WC.
This guy right hear is a repeat offender and a bear minimum of 30 days behind bars.
How did he just end up in the damn net? That bear must be been scared shitless of a helicopter flying overhead for an hour
They probably shot a tranquilliser dart into the bear and picked him up after he passed out. Appropriate surname you have by the way!
Winston Churchill and bears
arresting bears? why do they hold him for 30 days before releasing him?
Hey, its because bear are smart enough to remember the consequences of going to Churchill and will remember the 30 days in bear jail... they dont get feed and only get water. During summer time polar bear dont really eat that much beside from small berries, birds, bird eggs or maybe a beluga (if they are very lucky)and they go into a state of "slow walking hibernation" to save energy..
Click bait I thought Winston Churchill was here 😂😂
They put him behind bars for 30 days?Is this hilarious to anyone else but me?Hahaha like that will teach him not to come near this tow.Sure, all it does is get him used to being fed every day by people and than when they release him he will come back again for some free food and a warm cell.
yeah im thinking this too. would like to know why the 30 days.
joh ber it is a conservation centre, it’s probably for tests to track the health of the bear to get information about the health of the population
@Zap Rowsdower 😂😂😂😂
He's going into bear group therapy.
He does not want a warm cell" trust me, it's a polar-bear hahah.
The polar bear needs his medicine. Stop making junkie polar bears!
Isn't the polar bear just scavenging for food since his natural habitat is disappearing
MRTN13 Actually, Churchill is on the seasonal migration path for Polar Bears in Manitoba.
That may be true but, they can't really just move the town now... At least the way they are doing it, the bear has a chance to learn to stay away and remain in what is left of its habitat.
@@800metre how is it doing that when they put it in icebear "jail" for 30 days and feeding it.
You're gonna keep him housed and fed for 30 days and expect him not to return?
Not fed
30 days no food no water so the bears don’t want to return; then tranquilized again and brought somewhere into the forest via helicopter
What a criminal (the polar bear). ;')
So much graffiti on those rocks
John It's not graffiti, it's to remember who have passed.
Maybe they can put a chip and that way they can track them when they back in the city so . People un the city know they are in danger
He starves them to death by rerouting their food supply
Bear jail lol
Are there any good documentaries on polar bears hunting humans this topic interests me so much!!!!
Polar Bears are one of the few animals on this planet that don’t seem to be timid of humans and consider humans as a food source. They’re not known to actively hunt humans, meaning they’re not going out of their way to find humans specifically. They’re usually attracted to populated areas because of trash and other food sources. However, they will go after a human if the opportunity presents itself.
You probably won’t find too many documentaries of specifically Polar Bears hunting humans. However, there is one video on UA-cam where a guy sits inside a steel cage in Polar Bear territory and the bears desperately try to get in the cage to get to him. Pretty scary stuff.
Have you found any?
Thanks again for the great video ... 👍
why don't ppl move? Canada is so big. Why don't you leave the town for the bear? Is that because of the tourism industry?
Why don’t people who have lived their for generations over hundreds of years move out of their homes for just bears? Because a random commenter wants them to?
Woe
I'm sorry I just don't understand why people need to live there is there a special reason?
Leave it to an American museum to fail to mention that it is Churchill, Manitoba, Canada.
Mike Heffernan you know these are just clips, part of larger documentaries, right?
psyssi I would assume so. Very well, leave it to an American editor to edit it out, then. :)

02:00: Weeeeeeeeeeee!!!
Put him into Jail for life!!! Ha ha ha.
putting the in jail just because they are bear...
Letting them eat humans just because they are bear...
🐻
Waste of money. Just leave the town to the bears
That is a good idea actually haha..but how do you get all those people out?🤔
Like people who have lived there over countless generations and hundreds of years would move for bears. Would you be kicked out of your home for a random animal?
wut
@@roybatty6368 “Waste of money” It’s a town. Should we just leave every town or village to a predatory animal? Such as leaving Denver for the grizzlies and cougars? I think not.
Stunt bear?I don't think he will somehow?
