I really like that there are games out there for everyone. So many different games. These lists are fun to make but can be hard. I like the cube pushing games/overly complicated euros best.
Wow wow wow, ALL are my kind of games! You opening up with a cube in MtG, I knew it was going to be a killer list. If we lived near each other we’d be board game buddies!
Took my soul back from Magic, traded everything to a LFGS for store credit, and got into Warhammer 40k. Less expensive in the long run, and I enjoy it as both a hobby and a strategic game. I loved Summoner wars, but I lost the person I used to play with. Haven't been able to play it since. Wingspan is a definite favorite. I've enjoyed Dice Forge. Clank! Is a favorite of everyone I game with.
Only have played 2 of these, just getting into hardcore board games. Dune is one of my favorite movies so I got dune imperium. Genuine masterpiece. I love that game so much easily my favorite board game.
Solid list. Since you love Deck Building games, have you tried Tyrants of the Underdark? It's one that flew under the radar from Wizards of the Coast. It combines deck building with area control, and you have to balance the two well. I got it on sale and it has turned into one of my favorites. I think you can usually find it for around $40 right now.
@@Diceonahill I bought it because it was on deep sale, and I'm not always a fan of deck building games. But it has been the game on my table the most this year. Quick to learn, hard to master. And it comes with alternate decks to make it a different experience if you get too good at the basic version.
Great watch. Was like a rollercoaster, with games i loved and ones ive passed on. And usually people dont love your 1 & 2 both. Like coke vs pepsi. So happy surprise to see Dune Imperium (also my number 1) right after you shared your love of arnak.
You should get yourself Dune Imperium Uprising (has way more depth) or the Rise of Ix expansion for Base game (the difference it makes is enormous). Immortality is only worth if you play with Ix and Base game imo bit ot is also great!
That's an interesting top 3....kudos to you for knowing what you like. I agree on deckbuilding with other stuff being phenomenal. One that I think you will LOVE then is Hands In The Sea. It recently had a kickstarter and while it looks to refine the rules: the art style is kind of ugly IMO. The 2nd edition is great (or getting the KS one if you like the art style). But this is a 2 player only game based on the Punic War. I normally don't like 'war' games but this one does some BRILLIANT things with deck building like having the ability to pay and 'bank' cards so you can do a combo that you want and buying these power cards that give you an ability that you can only have one of. Highly recommend it!
Also, why not Dominion? It is another great and classic card builder with lots of expansions that include the effect when obtained mechanic like ruins! I think you'll like it a lot! 😀
That's a solid list. Btw do you know any BG that's similar to Splendor ? I really love it but can't find any games that give me the same feeling (I guess my kind of BG is something that has simple rules but still need some decent tactics to win ? And also doesn't have many text to read and understand) For example: Dungeon Mayhem, Splendor, Faraway...
@minhphuclamvan5602 if you like the engine building of splendor, Project L is great! Same feeling of building up, getting better pieces, no text, very simple. Its what we call a polyomino game. Tetris pieces to complete puzzles. Check it out it's a great game!
Subscribed! I like your List, have to try Dice Forge because i love dice Games, thats why i adore CTG. Keep it up! edit: i only watched this video for now, so i would recommend to try out Final Girl, if you havent played it yet.
@dondondondondon. Thanks man! What is CTG? I've played hostage negotiator which wasnt for me. Final girl i heard was very similar. Thanks for the recommendation though.
Amazing video!! Mateus from Brazil here and you got me with this video. Subescribed. Did you play Wyrmspan? If yes, did you prefere Wingspan or Wyrmspan? And why?
@mateuspedrosa9834 Thank you Mateus. I havent yet had the chance to play wyrmspan. I've heard its different enough to warrant giving it a go so it's on my to-do list
Interesting, all good games tho none would make my top 100, tbh, but I've played about 2000 games or so and I lean towards heavy euros and games with conflict, so I can understand your preferences. Thanks for the list.
Unfortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to play it. The new additions look great though really want to try it. Bit of a pricey purchase for a similar experience though.
Great vid and list. Pretty similar in our tops. If you haven't tried, Seasons might be up your alley (deck building sortof, contained ctg (drafting), resouces (like mana) and conversion, chunky dice and rolling, impacts others, best 2 players). Relative cheap second hand too (like $40). Got expansions, haven't tried. Dune imperium with expansion is my number 3 (haven’t tried uprising). Dice forge is pretty much deck building 😂 wife loves it so got everything but we don't play (BGA during covid killed physical due to auto set up, tear down and point calcs).
Νah... still done. Bloomburrow's cute but it won't make standard any better and a card game without a standard format is pointless. Unless you enjoy commander, there's not much left in Magic.
Wingspan lol. The most overhyped, boring, tedious game I’ve ever played. Tried it twice and both times we didn’t finish it because everyone was bored out of their minds by the third round.
@@Diceonahill Good games, like Carcassonne, Through the Desert, Babylonia, TZAAR and Blokus Duo. You seem to be a "loss aversion" guy. I am correct? (I am always correct, just wanted you to admit it).

Absolutely loved this list, hyped to pick up some of these!
@katalyze101 Thanks! Yeah I have a ton of fun with these!
I love "top of all time-this year-" lists. They always sound so final even though you know they'll have changed in a week.

It's a game I definitely wish I got to play more often.
