@@leonbovendeur3701 there was already advantage played for the horror tackle on CHO by Blind, and then Veltman handball for the penalty: both of those were yellow cards. They made it a red card for both by yelling and arguing with the referee and ganging up on him. Veltman should've maybe not had a yellow for the handball, but Blind 100% deserved it.

As a LIVERPOOL fan I was honestly glad (and devastated) that Ajax didn’t get through to the final. I truly believe they would’ve given us a tougher time than Spurs did. That was a run for the ages, they completely changed the way the world viewed them that year. Not to mention looking at where the team and coaches ended up. Reminds me of the Monaco team that had that UCL run, just to watch so many players get bought for the best clubs in the world.

The rules are as followed: If someone makes a foul for which he could receive a red card (or his second yellow) you have to stop the play immediately, except if there is a 100% scoring chance for the opposite team. In this case, there WAS NOT an immediate 100% scoring chance after Blinds foul. Hudson-Odoi gets the ball outside the corner of the box, 35-meters from the goal, with two Ajax players in front of him. So the referee should have whistled. Besides that, the claimed handball of Veltman was not a handball according to the rules either. The rules: If the arm is in a NATURAL POSITION, plus if the players arm gets immediately hit after coming from ANOTHER PLAYER , a handball should not be given. Hudson-Odoi's shot changed course by a little deflection of Mazraoui. The ball had such speed that Veltman could not react fast enough to move his arm away. Conclusion: the referee shouldn't have continued the play and it wasn't even a penalty to begin with. So for all the masterminds in the comment section: it is not a subjective matter. You cannot say 'well in my opinion...' because the referee objectively made a mistake. This is one of the worst referee mistakes in the history of football.

The problem with Veltman's handball, is that the player that deflected the ball wasnt very near Veltman.
Also the shot was fully blocked by the arm, it wasnt just deflected or touched.
You cannot fully block a shot or cross with the arm, unless you are less than 2 meters away from the shooter.
The ref was right.

This is the biggest mistake from the referee in football history. The referee had to whistle directly after the tackle from Blind, because he received his second yellow card but he didn't whistle. And a few seconds later handsball from Veltman and received his second yellow too. But how it is a penalty when Blind made the first mistake and received his red card? With the footbal rules it was a free kick and one red card for Blind.

Notice how there was only Ajax players complaining about the referee’s decision standing right up his face even tho it’s only the captain that should do that. The chances of the referee changing his decision is very low as well, so there is no point in complaining about his decision.
