Seriously, what the fuck has happened to music. I can't even turn on the radio anymore, Mumford & Sons is seriously so much more than talented musicians, they sing and write from the heart which is rare to never anymore. I so badly wish more people would realize, THIS is music, that requires you to be able to SING or PLAY an instrument. Not like 90% of today's music industry. It feels so good to come home from a long day and listen to these guys, I could do it all day long.
i think that if the day ever comes for me to get married, this will be my first dance song with my dad. we had our differences throughout the years, but we always bonded over music. one of my fondest memories is seeing mumford in concert with him and screaming this at the top of our lungs together. hopefully one day i can come back to this comment and report to you all that this manifestation came true.
May this be a band that lives on for many years to come. I've never become so entranced by any other artist as quickly as I have with these guys. Just amazing.
WhySoSerious55 check out their live audience cover of Bruce Springsteen’s classic ‘I’m on Fire’ - every hair on your body will stand to attention ! Brilliant Just brilliant !!!
This song can never get old to me because to me the new son is the Christ, the forgiveness I can never forget is my Lord's, the excess I will shake is this sinful life and world. I don't fool myself into believing for a moment that these guys are followers of Christ, but me being a follower, I can find my creator in all things. As I understand it they are very Liberal and outright against the conservative points of a sanctified life, but God still gave them this beautiful talent so that even in their personal ignorance of the Heavenly Father, The Heavenly Father can still be worshipped in truth and Spirit by those with ears to hear, and eyes to see. I wish them many long years ahead, but most of all I wish them to find THE TRUTH, THE WAY, and THE LIFE, then they could truly bow their heads in the knowledge of what they have been given.
This is what's bad about hearing a song before it's recorded. I watched a video of them playing this song @ a radio station recently & they had changed it slightly. This is the version I fell in love with. When the new album comes out I want to hear this version! Oh well. I guess it's like seeing spoilers for your favorite TV show :) I'll always have this video to come back to I guess.
I proper dig the harmonys and the way thay can build a layer of sound so it makes the hairs stand up on you neck everytime you listen to them. It's just magic.
I totally agree :D I am a big Marilyn Manson fan and.. my relationship to religion is not..the best...but I still LOVE Mumford and Sons. I love thei music and I love their lyrics because they just fit my thoughts about several things in my life even though I´m not religious...you don´t have to see the lyrics religious...you can interpretate them in you own way and that makes them so very special
I'm glad their music isn't so hyped like so many other artists. I mean it's nice to hear them on the radio every once in a while, but I hate it when radio ruins a song by playing it too much. Although I doubt it would happen to me with M&S
actually, Marcus' parents run on of the largest charismatic evangelical churches in the UK. both are ministers. Marcus is religious. The lyrics are inherently religious- they reference the bible constantly. I don't know about the others, but for sure Marcus is religious. He met his now-wife, Carey Mulligen, at church camp when they were kids. ugh. I don't know why people refuse to allow musicians to write about religious stuff and have it be really good.
@LostGingerAle It's not a different version. You may be referring to the different intro. It's just that Ben's using the accordion, maybe because the keyboard wouldn't fit in the room, but I'm sure they would've played the keyboard intro had Ben been using it.
@thekevorchestra I think you misunderstood me. This is the original to me. They have a new version they play w/added lyrics, horns, and a much faster beat. I can't link you to it, but just search You Tube for the Montreal concert from October 2011. People are even titling their videos w/"New version" It's great, just different from this version that I fell in love with :) I'm trying to find the radio station video I saw of the new version. If I find it I'll get it to you :)
Marcus himself has said they prefer the world "spiritual"...the 4 of them have their own individual beliefs. The lyrics are not "inherently religious"...there are religious references among a number of other references, obviously as a result of Marcus growing up in a religious household, but he has said that their music is not intended to be labelled as "religious" rather it is open to interpretation.

Don't you just love these guys?! Their amazing, this is such a beautiful song I love it. Love you Mumford!
I proper dig the harmonys and the way thay can build a layer of sound so it makes the hairs stand up on you neck everytime you listen to them. It's just magic.
You know, I honestly can't decide whether I prefer the early version of this song, or the version that showed up on Babel. They're both so good.
Absolutely loved this song! :)
LMAO. Perfect timing for it to fall off too. Bravo! I almost stood up to clap at the end.
That was beautiful.
can't wait for their new album!!
So cool how the cross is formed in the window by the light shining in. Jesus! :)
Bril. I love this song~
It's called Nothing is Unwritten, I believe.
this is beautiful.

Just found the words for my first tattoo i'm getting:

Why hadnt i discovered this before
Damn
I'm glad their music isn't so hyped like so many other artists. I mean it's nice to hear them on the radio every once in a while, but I hate it when radio ruins a song by playing it too much. Although I doubt it would happen to me with M&S
2024 van. Mèg mindig 👍😍❤️ sok èv óta!
Impressive performance:)
Awwww - I love that story about them meeting at church camp! I didn't realize that.
Love it! My favorite one from you so far!
Jesus loves you. He is coming soon. And I will kneel down and wait for him.
Damn they sound good. No post studio work on that song and still excellent sounding......
yes, this song is on Babel, their new album. and it is called "I will wait" and is the 3rd song on the album.
So good !
My favourite song but not my favourite live version!
i swear this song is called nothing is written? thats what they sead at reading + leeds :)
|LOOOVE THESE GUYS!:D
Have to agree, I much prefer this version than the one on the album ("I Will Wait").

ugh.

@GordonNoveto I think it's called "Nothing Is Written"
I think this song is called "Home" now. Nevertheless, I just love this song as I love every other song by them :)
Nice played
@LostGingerAle It's not a different version. You may be referring to the different intro. It's just that Ben's using the accordion, maybe because the keyboard wouldn't fit in the room, but I'm sure they would've played the keyboard intro had Ben been using it.
amazing :)
Ill go bow out to this
2020 anyone?
@redstarlite I went to their concert in Portland last month and they are now calling it "Nothing Is Written"
I will wait until they sing I Will Wait
@pizzadealer What are they?! I can only make out the first three!

@8Way2Go8 now it is. it was still untitled when this video was made
i think this song should be called bound my hands
Knocking shit off the book case with their awesomeness
x cellent!
where can we get more songs of that session ????
@thekevorchestra I think you misunderstood me. This is the original to me. They have a new version they play w/added lyrics, horns, and a much faster beat. @alli1990 I have this like this happen when my band practices too haha its all the vibration of all the instruments.
@GordonNoveto but they already wrote a song called "Home"...well nevermind, they can even wrote a song called "dhfkuhefiekj", I will love it anyway
@Whatsername778 I meant "they can write" of course :D
What chord formations did you use for finger picking?
Marcus himself has said they prefer the world "spiritual"...the 4 of them have their own individual beliefs. The lyrics are not "inherently religious"...there are religious references among a number of other references, obviously as a result of Marcus growing up in a religious household, but he has said that their music is not intended to be labelled as "religious" rather it is open to interpretation.
i will wait, aw
Interested as to why they actually never sang, I will wait...
This is actually before they "named the song" It was first known as "untitled" :) cool fun fact.

I waited and it never came.
Does anyone know the name of this song?
Agree with Kathryn!
