- This Barbadian short story, taken from the CD entitled, "Skylarkin" gives one a humorous insight in to the life of the average Bajan. The performer, the late Alfred Pragnell, was a multi-talented individual. The author, the late Jeanette Layne-Clarke was herself a prolific writer and joined with the talents of the late and beloved poet Frank Collymore, the Barbadian cultural heritage was enriched, recorded and treasured for posterity. Do enjoy.

@DjhutiAnkh good idea. my mom and grandmother and auntie used to speak bajan slang when they didn't want me to know what they were saying, when i used to ask what certain things meant they wouldn't tell me. but when i go home i learn anyway. we have to keep up the culture!
29psalm mine too.
Still funny!
😂SWEET MEMORIES
sounds just like the bus terminal cipher...LOL
The words are excellent- brings back old happy memories of Barbados!- my only complaint is that a machine should not have been used to translate it, but a bajan, who would know how to write it as pronounced!- that had more mis - spelling, total nonsence words- next time get a proper A-I Word processor to write the words!- otherwise-- very fantastic!!- send more!
