A tip I read in a comment section once that makes a lot of sense is to take off the higher "fill" plug first, then the bottom "drain" plug. If you take off the drain plug first and then can't get the fill plug off, you will be left with a empty diff and no way to fill it (therefore you can't drive the car anymore until you get it fixed). I do notice however, you made sure both were loose first 👍
My 180SX I got in 2000 I have never changed the diff or gearbox oil. It was my daily for 14yrs, the last 10 it's been in the shed as I work in Asia. One day when I return I will do them all.

Dont the diff need LSD friction modifier, if you think its an LSD?
It would need a lsd centre which could have been installed before my time
