Built in 1199, the Qutb Minar or Minaret of Qutb is the most important building still intact in the mosque complex. It is supposed to have been built after the style of the Jam Minaret in Afghanistan.

Minaret Qutba ma około 73 metry wysokości, podstawę 14,3 metra i końcową platformę o średnicy 2,7 metra. Specjalne pasy na korpusie minaretu zawierają motywy dekoracyjne i kaligrafię koraniczną typu kufic lub thuluth, a piętra oddzielają balkony ozdobione pięknymi „muqarnas” (ozdobnymi stalaktytami)

in the courtyard of the edifice there is also an iron pillar with inscriptions in Sanskrit, brought to Delhi in 993 by the Hindu king Anangpal to place it in front of his temple. The pillar has a symbolic value for the locals and has been integrated into the structure of the mosque

Complexul Qutub din New Delhi, India, conține capodopere ale artei indo-islamice și rămășițe ale civilizațiilor mult mai vechi. Piesa centrală este Qutub Minar, un minaret care datează

the mosque was made from the remains of 27 Hindu and Jain temples. As an important center of medieval Islamic worship, Quwwat-ul-Islam is the oldest example of Ghurid architecture in the Indian Subcontinent.

Costruito nel 1199, il Qutb Minar o Minareto di Qutb è l'edificio più importante ancora intatto nel complesso della moschea. Si suppone che sia stato costruito secondo lo stile del minareto Jam in Afghanistan.
