Being a fan of anything is hard nowadays when it comes to collecting. While i like dragons rising the show...i think that the set side is just disgusting it just is not the same anymore. All the sets just feel so lifeless and soulless and i felt that for a while now. I am starting to remember why i forgot Ninjago even existed after the movie released even if i like some of the seasons after that. Its just sad to see. Feels like lego is intentionally trying to put Ninjago in its grave because these prices are unaffordable.
I've been buying Lego Ninjago since 2011, and like last year I went all out (aka spent wayy too much on Ninjago) but like, at least i could give it a pass because some of the sets looked cool and stuff. I was even excited for the 2025 sets, but with the release of the January images and now the 2025 summer list and prices: honestly, I am not able to continue to defend Lego's greed. Shitty looking sets, constant reuses (Red Ras infuriated me the most, Drix being 3 times in sets), LOCKING away desirable minifigs behind absurd price tags (i'm looking at you Zarkt of the Forbidden Five, Cole and PIXAL locked away in 2 $100 sets for January AND March), and man. Summer Wave's price, like you said who is gonna spend 800+ bucks for plastic?? Fun fact: if you buy everything this wave (including polybags and 4+): 1,633 bucks. You need to shell out $1,633. Genuinely insane... I am not buying any sets next year, first because ofc i spent way too much last year and second because if I want to waste money, I'd waste money on something else entirely that's not just gonna sit there and collect dust for 2/3 years, but that's gonna be useful for me. Insane how Ninjago got me into collecting and turning me away from it entirely. I'm still super hyped for the show and I will still watch that ofc. But setwise nah, things have gotten ridiculous now
It definitely is absurdly crazy. When we first saw the leaked list of the sets and prices recently I couldn't believe how quickly the price increase started and totaling up the numbers it's wild an frankly unaffordable. Especially somebody like me (who luckily I will be getting home soon from my military deployment) but I have yet to pick up the summer 2024 Ninjago which is around $600 some ought dollars. Then it will be the new winter wave which is actually fairly small but is still around a few hundred but still adds to the total. Then obviously the absurdly priced $850 dollars for the next summer wave. I mean the fact that within like a year I'm spending well over two grand I'm just the regular mainstream collection. Not including buying anything else second hand or any other custom Ninjago projects or anything else from any other theme. Like ever since I've been able to be an adult and have a paycheck and afford more sets and Minifigures than I ever was able to as a kid I kind of been on the completionist route for the wave even if recently a lot of the sets have been sort of flops cough cough Ultra ninja combo vehicle but it's definitely starting to make the pit of my wallet hurt wondering if I can even realistically afford the entire waves. I certainly don't get paid enough on my Army salary to afford a crazy price hikes that we are getting into. I mean the fact that this next coming summer wave in 2025 is 850.00 that's over 1/2 of my monthly paycheck is wild. And like you said big sets are cool and expensive Minifigures can be cool but the fact that we have a wave that is over half of some people salaries or even more is wild and the fact that the wave is so unattainable to most people as of right now where the economy sits it's a bummer because I want to hold out hoping that we will have some cool unique fun products to look forward towards but if you can't even afford them what's the point. Obviously we'll have to wait and see if the sets in Minifigures are anywhere close to being justified to the prices that they want but unfortunately this last wave doesn't give me a ton of hope I'm not as critical on some things assome people this new winter wave but the lack of minifigures at least one to two Minifigures that should be in sets we definitely have been getting japped. It sucks because we shouldn't be having these problems but I guess we'll just have to see where it goes I do agree it's a little annoying when there's as you mentioned Fun Whole can produce good quality looking sets with prints for almost half the cost. To get hands on any of my products from them that I ordered but I thought pretty much the entire Western Line as well as a couple cabins and spent probably less than this entire upcoming winter Ninjago wave.
Man this is absolutely insane. Gone are the days when Lego Ninjago (and Lego in general) was known for its affordability. Just... what is going on....? I can't even say I'm mad that much, I'm more disappointed. Most of us here probably didn't like Core that much, but those didn't have nearly as many outrageous like the waves after that including this!! (I remember price-hiking was absolutely terrible starting in Summer 2022 with Crystalized). Just look at how much money somebody is going to have to spend in one year (on LEGO ALONE) just to collect everything because they're probably going to screw up the minifigure distribution with the ninja anyways. Saying this is our first $200 regular set in a regular wave isn't exactly a good thing. I remember when $100 used to be the max and then we slowly started creeping up further to $120, $130, $150, and now $200. Insane. And still not a single villain set on the menu. It really makes me miss 2019 Legacy (not sure why they dropped Legacy, I thought it was an amazing idea but they seem to drop all the good ideas apparently).
@@lassisusi6727 You can be eco-friendly and still create something affordable. Nothing out there justifies these insane price increases. The new material shouldn't affect the quality of the final product.
@@awesomeawesome4188 the new material is 2x the cost bruh. A 30%ish increase is more than justified. I do agree that they are making too many expensive sets tho
@@lassisusi6727 There should always be a balance so that both low and high spenders can enjoy, but the recent waves have only been beneficial for high-spending people, and not everyone is a high-spender. Making only 3 sets on the cheaper end just makes it sound like they're intentionally doing it for the money, not so kids can have fun.
I may not even buy anything except that polybag. For example, Jay's dragon sounds interesting, but what if it's another Egalt situation? I am not having any of that. I am fed up with this shit. Rontu sounds interesting too, but I BET they will use Riyu's mold for the head and when they do, I am not even considering it just for that. The only things that make sense are Kai's bike and Arin's mech, and that too depends on the amount of minifigures and the quality. If Kai is the only minifigure, it's done, I would act as it doesn't exist, and unless that Arin mech has a very, veery exciting build and a few good minifigures I'm afraid that there be nothing appealing about it since I can attain Arin in a polybag. Jay vs Drix is another Kai vs Ras car bullshit. All in all, I will be heavily relying on those magazines to provide me with the minifigures I might like. I am not supporting this robbery.
I’m close to completing the Elemental Mech collection, so the fact that they’re creating even more is pretty cool, because I want them to make a mech for each ninja
Ok, I have something written before this about the summer waves of Ninjago aren’t great but this? Holy cow this is a nightmare of a wave. All those prices? That’s just not right, especially the last one? $200 in a normal wave? That’s ridiculous, and it just solidifies that Ninjago summer waves get screwed while the Winter waves seem to be ok. But yeah I’m definitely not getting all the sets or if the mini figs are spread out throughout like with Crystalized. I’m be focusing on Speed Champions and grabbing the Sonic the Hedgehog mini figs to wait for the sets to be on Bricklink, but with what happened with this years summer wave it’s going to be months before I can them as Lego went back to releasing them to August in the US. (Still trying to get the Source Dragon of Motion still and can’t get a good deal on Bricklink)
For the prices of these sets, the minifigure selection better be on point for this wave, cause no one in their right mind is going to spend $800 just to collect one of each character if they decide to have some characters in the more expensive sets and none in the cheaper ones.
Did… did you just say that Hasbro black series was a quality line of toys??? Black series is the laughing stock of Hasbro. They are literally abusing their consumers.
i think the summer wave will be much more fantastic then the january one so i think im going to keep my birthday presents on hold and get them in the summer insted
Regarding Drix, she was never exclusive since she's coming in Arc Dragon of Focus set (which releases in March) But yeah, regarding rest of the wave... Idk if we can even hope at this point if some of expensive sets not gonna be like "60$ set with 3 reused figs and skimpy build"
This is called balance, the 2024 january wave was very cheap because most of them were mechs and it would suck if we would get only everytime boring mechs that are not even that much unique
I am interested to see what Fire Knight Mech is looks like and who it is for I kinda hope it is either Dragonian set or Wyldfyre set, though I would be ok if it is another Kai Mech aswell Anyway looks I am waiting for Black Friday to buy any new Lego sets from stores, again
If it makes you feel better we’re getting the rest of the forbidden five as exclusives to the bounty set. Zarkt will be in a March set. Rox and Kur will be exclusives to the bounty set.
There’s no way that 2 members of the Forbidden Five are actually going to be locked behind a $200 set, maybe those leaks are wrong, as some leaks said that all of the Forbidden Five would be in the January wave, which is of course false
Imagine LEGO actually confirming Ninjago's cancellation on the 15th anniversary. It would honestly be a fitting full-circle end to Ninjago as a whole. No Skybound 10th anniversary set, no new Nadakhan, nothing. We lose, or rather, anything non-LEGO Star Wars loses.
I can see that If these prices become even more expensive, then I can see people just not willing to buy newer sets or even any Lego sets in general 250 $ for a ship ? Well it better be pretty damn huge and have lots of minifigures too to justify the price And holy shit if the wave we are possibly getting in Autumn is even more expensive than summer wave
Sometimes I think you are overreacting but I agree with you on this. Kids primarily 7-13-year-olds don't have that much money and parents aren't gonna spend $1000 on plastic bricks. Usually, some people turn to alternatives like fake Lego which isn't that bad but it takes a couple of months for them to release on fake websites. I will be buying most of the sets either for the figures or the set itself. But Lego needs to fix this issue. And a big reason I think the price increase is happening is because of inflation, now hopefully When Trump comes back he can decrease it like he did before. and in 2026 the prices could be lower. Btw it would be great if you responded to the comment and provided your opinion.
I don't get how there are dumbasses defending the prices, and I can't believe how lego loves to fkcing scam their customers, and not just their customers but their fans, it's just depressing how such plastic pieces are basically the same prices as apple's devices, or even more expensive
I don’t understand how people defend them too. I get comments every single day supporting Lego and what they are doing and I don’t understand it what so ever
Set images arent revealed yet so there should be no any complains because we don't even know how much it will have pieces ,what type of pieces.Your mind will blow up when you see retired minifigures prices on bricklink from themes like ninjago and starwars

I mean I agree lego is pricing people out but the theme is definitely going into 2026, lego isn’t gunna end it without celebrating its 15 year anniversary even if I think it should have ended
Oh the fun gone to clected lego the fun is over some us can not buy this stuff like the Cole titan mech last year 2024 is bad for 100 dollars and then the dragon stone shrine is bad for 120 dollars this should have been 70 dollars not 120 dollars
Cole's Titan Mech for 100$ is actually a fair price considering how good the actual build is. And before you say that it should've had more minifigures, I agree that it should've had more but at the same time the budget most likely went for the actual build. LEGO is obviously not just about the minifigures 😭🙏
Yo lego stop your stupid overpriced stuff and go back to the cheap stuff not 810 dollars to get the whole summer lego ninjago wave and who is lego making stupid high bad price on these sets I think lego need to do something or that lego company could be recharge its end
