    As a cancer patient, I would hope no-one ever...EVER lies about this condition. It's a horrendous roller coaster for the patient and their family. Big life questions are thrown into the ether and we all have to balance that diagnosis and try to find peace with those big questions. Anyone who unfortunately has to legitimately step onto this train is an unwilling passenger. I would be insulted and horrified that anyone would try to use a false diagnosis to garner sympathy or attention. I hope this woman is OK, but if she is lying then she needs to seek serious help. No-one in their right mind would want this insidious disease in their life.

      Didn't know that. She seems to be lying. Could she have had stomach cancer and liver cancer at stage 1?

    • @JustAnotherBuckyLover
      @JustAnotherBuckyLover 3 роки тому +42

      @@kimmyjean9580 It is possible to have cancer in two locations yes, but that doesn't seem accurate here.Virginia is right that stage 1 would not be accurate for metastatic cancer of ANY variety, and especially not that would leave you with 25 percent of your liver (or remove 25 percent, its not clear what she is suggesting). Technically, if you have metastatic cancer - such as peritoneal cancer that spreads, say, to the liver or bones, those tumours in the liver and bones are STILL the original type of cancer (i.e. in this case, peritoneal cancer) but in remote locations. To have two entirely different types of cancer at once is incredibly rare, though, and she would need different chemo etc to treat them as not all cancers are treated with the same medication. And while it's true that not all chemo makes you lose your hair, it's very rare that the only side effect would be vomiting. Exhaustion is far, far more ubiquitous. Also, there would also be probably multiple surgeries involved too. While it's not unheard of for people to not know exactly what kind of cancer they have, the lack of understanding staging is a bigger giveaway.
      Sadly I know someone who insists she has stage 4 cervical cancer (which is terminal and has remote and local spread) but supposedly it hadn't spread at all. Then when called out on that, she said she has stage 4 cervical dysplasia (which doesn't exist)- when reality she mistakenly sent some test results for sympathy and it gave her diagnosis as stage one dysplasia which in all likelihood would never turn into cancer even if she left it untreated for 20 years, it's way more likely to resolve spontaneously, and the doctors wanted to wait and go for a repeat test in 6 months. She is still telling people she has cervical cancer and nobody believes her, though. *sighs* this kind of stuff happens WAY too frequently. I've seen it happen in support groups multiple times too and that's the worst, when they infiltrate what is meant to be a safe space for people to discuss painful, embarrassing, life-changing medical and chronic health issues, just to get attention.

    Having just finished a year of treatment for breast cancer, I can say that the Doctors and Nurses educate you VERY well along the way. What stage you are at, what it means, what the odds are after certain types of treatment, for your stage and type of cancer. You certainly KNOW what metastasize means, if you have cancer. Because they check all your lymph nodes to see if it’s reached them. They do CT scans, and bones scans. To see if it has shown up anywhere else, before they even treat you, because they need to know that before your exact treatment is determined. And they explain all of that along the way. No way she could be that clueless and actually have cancer!
