My expectations for this were low and HOLY COW I WAS SO WRONG! this show was amazing!
Side note Marie is in Red River in the beginning. That lady talking to her is the same one that was showing Hughie the Supes up for adoption in season 3 of the Boys.
And there was a picture of Marie in that episode of the Boys.
Finally, let's go. This is a great series and does well as a spin off. The characters are very endearing.
All the actors genuinely surprised me. For not getting much set up, they all have very emotional pay offs

I had such low expectations going into this show, and damn did it deliver big time! Looking forward to watching it all again with you and the Stikker Fam.

While "the boyz" was more concerned with political and capitalist problems and bigotry, "gen v" dealt with issues such as anorexia, selfharm, gender. And the way they do it is just great. Considering the brutality of the show, they deal with it very sensitively. Right in your face, but because they are all teenagers here, you actually see them more as victims of the society in which they have to live.
In case you haven't noticed, Jordan changes genders. Her female side attacks and her male side defends. So Jordan can only be seriously injured when the female side is out. That's why he/she always switches back and forth in combat.

I absolutely loved Gen V season 1. It's exactly what it is supposed to be it's not quite the Boys it just has its own identity. Some familiar faces and some emotional moments. I'm excited for the Boys season 4 and Gen V season 2.

When i watched this show i didnt know it was a the boys spinoff so 1 minute in seeing A train i got so excited and this show was the best thing that happened this whole year
This show was fantastic, just as good as the Boys and a perfect way to expand on the universe. You guys will love it.

They may not be as powerful as Golden Boy, but Jordan is pretty versatile. Their powers are split between their two different forms. Male has strength and durability, while female has force blasts.
hey I don't know if you already seen it but a second season of *Reacher* is coming out in December and since you liked the equalizer movies, there is a series with Queen Latifah that is just magnificent :)

I didn’t know if i wanted to watch this show. After hearing all of the great reviews, I binge watched it in about two days. It was awesome! I never should’ve doubted this group of people that created this universe!

How did you miss that this was Red River in the beginning? Pretty sure you even saw Teddy again. You also saw Marie on the computer in Red River when Hughie was there. Also, the invisible guy, Maverick, is Translucence's son. Annie mentioned him in season 1 in the bowling alley. And the guy who plays Golden Boy is the son of Arnold Schwarzenegger.

At least as of episode one, I'm so glad this show didn't go the whole "mean popular kids" route with the main characters. It's so lazy and boring, which this universe isn't, so I guess I should'nt be surprised the writers were better than that. This whole season ended up being great.

HECK YESS BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE! This show was sooo good! It has moments that were a bit over the top raunchy however it was just as good as The Boys maybe even better than last season of The Boys.
For a show they really didn’t advertise all that much in comparison to The Boys first few seasons…it ended up being really freaking good.

So glad to see you guys finally watching this! Since I've been with you guys since Jessica Jones, Cobra Kai, Breaking Bad, Got, HotD and many others. I know you'll appreciate this fun fact about the actress that plays Emma, Lizze Broadway. She dated Tanner Buchanan (Robby from Cobra Kai) for years on and off until this past January when finally split up. That girl is built so they must've worked out together when they dated. 😊 17:03 love this show but they got the simplest of math wrong. If the show started out "> years ago" and Marie was twelve, how can she be eighteen 68 years later?
