Clarification since people seem confused for what I said regarding Aizen. I was just replying to what shunsui said "are you against communicating via spiritual pressure? Or is this place making it impossible even for you?" hance my comment "He was talking to Yhwach" meaning he can talk with his spiritual pressure but chose not to. We've been known that Aizen had his mouth sealed and wasn't actually talking for over a year lol.

Thank you Kubo for giving us 10 minutes Ukitake flashback that we didn't get in the manga. Also, remember when Aizen ascend to Hueco Mundo he said that "No one ever stood atop the heavens before, not you, or I, or the Gods" he specifically said that to Ukitake hinting that Aizen knows about Mimihagi aka the right hand of the Soul King.
I read a comment where they said by gods aizen meant the soul king mimihagi and some other entity too . Do u know it what else aizen must be referring to?

dont know as we can see, there were 2 lights beaming up from the seal, hinting that 2 keys were used which were mouth and left eye. Could be that Yhwach sealed him again before leaving, you cant be sure to be honest.
@@ritvikdesu2102Obviously Aizen and Yhwach conversed via SP and here Aizen remained silent towards Kyouraku so that Kyouraku would use the keys to unlock Aizen, not because Aizen couldn't converse with the former.
@@ritvikdesu2102 not really sure, but Yhwach was under Kyoka Suigetsu's influence (maybe even from the moment he stepped into the Muken), and thus Aizen made it look like he was present ifo Yhwach....

To answer your question yes, you are correct that the hand is a part of the Soul King what they also explained and showed in this episode. The only reason why they call it "Mimihagi" (because I see you were confused) is because the people in Soul Society have long forgotten the history of the Soul King and most of them don't know that "Mimihagi" the deity they worship is just the hand of the Soul King, Mimihagi is just another name for the Soul King's hand.

Also yes, you are correct. I absolutely think that different districts have different deities. Some brought their deities from their lives in on earth (so Shinto gods, Buddhism, Hindu gods, God, etc etc), some worship a brand new god. I think it depends on the district.
I may be wrong, but I think last episode when we say Uritake say "Don't die, please not yet" while healing Kenpachi I think he was talking about the Soul King, meaning he didn't want to die yet... kinda sad

Maybe but as far as i know, Shunsui was raised by Yama given the flashback at episode 7 of cour 1, and there were only 4 noble clans in bleach, Kuchiki, Shiba, Shihoin and a spoiler clan reffered in Bleach CFYOW novel.

At the beginning I was confused as to why Ukitake suddenly appeared and stated he's going to replace the Soul King when the last time we saw him he was healing Zaraki. I even thought they've skipped a part of the episode.

if you see at the end of the last episode, Ukitake was with them standing in the lab staring at the hole on the ceiling, the episode is continuing from where it left off aka when kisuke refers to soul kings death, just after that Ukitake says hes gonna replace the soul king.

They're saving the Zaraki stuff for later, but last episode literally ended with Ukitake staring at the heavens, so yeah the start of the episode was a bit whiplashy, but it felt intentional

I think Shunsui's point at the end of the episode was that a man who eventually wants to rule the worlds probably doesn't want to see them all destroyed.
edit: and as far as a full on Soul King backstory, it feels like they've been slowly building up towards doing that, but I don't think it'll happen until cour 4, which is when I assume Yhwach is finally defeated. Total guess, but maybe as he's dying he reflects on his childhood with him and his father or something like that. What we've got so far feels very symbolic so I'm hoping to see something more literal before the series ends.
I loved this episode, but the only complaint i had for it was that the beginning scene of this episode didn't have the suspense that the manga had, it just jumped straight in with Ukitake saying he will replace the Soul King, but there was a moment that he walked slowly upfront and had Kisuke shocked if i remember correctly. It also made the scene felt like they teased it at the end of last episode, but they clearly did not so...
