I used to cut my zip tie 1/2 way . Because I got 2 anchors like that stuck and zip tie would not break . So , I had to cut paracord and leave anchors . My lure kayak was going to tip before the zip ties would . After that , I started cutting tip ties 1/2 way . I found that mushroom anchors did not snag up as much for me , so switched to them . Lots of big rocks and wood where I fish . I am set up with 2 anchors on my kayak . The main one is a mushroom anchor ran on anchor trolley . It is on a divers reel with a quick release system . Second on is off the front of the kayak . It it set up with limb gripper , downrigger ball or anchor like you are using . It takes me a second or 2 to switch out what I use on the front anchor chute. I thought about adding a anchor wizard , but with pwm controls , horizonal rod holders , 2 fishing pole holders and downrigger , there is not much room left.
Have you checked out "Da Bomb" Anchor? It's a bit heavier (at 6lbs) but it's a perfect "no hangup" anchor and works really well with the AnchorWizard, including the (~$25) AnchorWizard "Chute" add-on, which pulls the anchor up, over, and out of the water (although I don't think it works well with an anchor-trolley system like I use - but maybe someone has figured out some method to make those work together... [?]). The "Da Bomb" anchor is ~$45.
With this setup can you wind your anchor back up at the bow/stern, leave it there and move up to another anchor location? As opposed to centering it every time you want to move
@@zachh-w3s Hey Zach. Don’t know, I’ve never tried it. I recently reconfigured my anchor setup to drop off the bow. I find it suits me better with my style of fishing. I would think trying to lift the anchor would be tough using only the loop point on the anchor trolley as the fulcrum.
@@zachh-w3s Yup. I found anchoring ok using the anchor trolly, but still battled staying in position with the wind. A couple of guys I fish with have bow mounted trolling motors with spot lock and it got me thinking, they always spot lock into the wind and then cast to their target. So, I started graphing and marking structure pedaling with the wind down a stretch, and then turning around into the wind, I utilize my casting ring feature on my Humminbird Helix. When I get within casting distance of structure, I anchor and cast. It allows me to methodically work the lake without having to constantly adjust my anchor trolley. I also found when I'm anchored to the side, I have issues landing fish without worrying about the anchor line angle. Hope this makes sense.
This is not a good method if that's an issue. It only has 45 feet of line and cranks up pretty quickly. If you're worried about getting swamped or run over and have to move quick the only option with this setup is to cut the line.
@@carlpasha I don’t. But I’ve been thinking about it since you asked. It’s also nice to leave the anchor if you get snagged so you can come back and reattach.
The anchor wizard comes with 45 feet of line. The anchor trolley comes with 30 feet. The length of the trolley depends on how long your boat is and how you install it.

@@XSJunkieJWH Good to know! Why did you reconfigure your anchor to the bow? Can you explain your type of fishing and how it better suits you? Thanks!

Who makes the little eye/T bolt? Ive been looking for this exact thing but cant find it.
I got them on Amazon. VTurboWay 4 pack Track Mount Tie down Eyelet
I can't seem to find an anchor wizard online that has the more open hole on the side like yours. Do they make them like that anymore?
Not sure about that. I just ordered it on Amazon.
How do you jettison the anchor if you have to bug out quickly?

@@XSJunkieJWH Thanks. The reason I asked was because I wondered if you had a cunning plan, such as some version of a grab-buoy and anchor trolley.

What rear seat risers are those?
