Chicago's Ax and the Hatchetmen came into their Audiotree Live Session ready to party. The rock and roll band’s shimmering three guitar attack, earthy rhythms and blistering horns have garnered them a loyal fanbase. A musical project between a long-time group of friends, Ax and the Hatchetmen's camaraderie and musical chemistry was made apparent the moment their session kicked off. The seven piece band consists of lead vocalists and guitarists of Axel Ellis and Kenny Olzewski, as well as Sal Defilippis on guitar, Hunter Olshefke on bass, Nick Deputy on drums, Phil Pistone on trumpet and Quinn Dolan on saxophone. Not the regular thing I would listen to, but they groove. Good band. It's also insane that guy plays a Gretsch White Falcon. You never see those, rare beast.

If there’s any sense in the world, these guys will go huge. The drummer’s rhythm, the bass, the interlocking guitars, the lyrics, heart felt vox and brass. It doesn’t surprise me The Strokes influence you. Guys, honestly, you’re incredible. Keep going

@@kqrry3857 no clue. He posted on his instagram that it wasn't his choice, and the rest of the band (or at least Axel) SEEMS to be on good terms with him (still following one another / liking posts) but pretty strange that it isn't public

Saw them live in May, he is a big Pokémon guy, had little plush’s on his drums and belt of video game characters, very welcoming and appreciative group of guys
