New Project. 1962 Ford Falcon, 4 Speed Hot Rod.

- At Penny's Hot Rods and Customs apparently we do not have enough project cars, so we purchased a 1962 Falcon. The price was right and at the right time. It has no motor, a 4 speed, rear diff has been changed to 5 bolt pattern lugs. A bunch of new parts came with it, including a new aluminum rad, heater core, gas tank, 5 lug front spindles, new lower control arms, new rear leaf springs and a few other goodies.
This hopefully will be a low budget project build.
This would be a Fun One... Lots of Pieces helps too. Thanks for Sharing

Those Falcons are getting more valuable. I had a beautiful 62 from California and it was a mild 302 automatic. Fast little car. 👍
My brother had a 62 falcon year ago and we all had fun with it.
I think I am starting to get jealous for sure. Some nice projects that will be fun to drive this summer
Derek really likes it and said we will be starting on it when it warms up.
Thats my buddies old Falcon. I haven't seen his car since he traded it for a mountain bike in around 1993. It used to be a 302 auto back then. Pretty sure it was originally a 3 on the tree. It's been in highbuild since then.
I've got a crazy story about the trade😲 the guy who got the car was one wild dude to say the least.

Its amazing how you all have way worse winters than we do in southern Ohio but our cars rust out way worse! That car here in Ohio is unheard of unless it was under a roof and dry. Nice car guys 👍

👍Lord it looks 🥶 COLD up there! Back in 83 my cousins mom gave him their 65 Falcon 289 3 on tree. They bought new. Garaged since new. Plastic still on seats. Cousin tore the hell outta it at every corner with its 1 wheel peel! Ha! Fun times at 15/16!

I used to tune a guys early 60's Falcon back in the day. Fast little car with a modified 260. That was the first car I took my then 7 or 8 year old son over 100mph in. He looked so cute with his eyes that big grabbing everything he could get his hands on. Looks like a great project!

It’s basically a baby Galaxie with those body lines and roof pillar.
I remember a red falcon interior and a blue falcon interior in an older Yard Video…so must be other parts for ya on those eh.
Didn’t that fox body Ford Futura have an injected inline 6? That would be too easy and simple I guess though eh.
Yuppers we have other parts cars so that a bonus. there sure sharp cars.

here in Australia we had these ol Falcons and being one of 5 brothers when i passed my licence test dad also bought me a car and i got this same Falcon but in a ute form ,i hung onto that ol ute and the 170 six cylinder and three on the tree got the arse and with help from brothers it ended up with a 351 windsor FMX and a 9 inch ,disc brakes all round ,loved that ol Ford but a prick knocked it off and i never ever saw it again ,glad to be a brand new subscriber ,great channel and i think what you should do is get all body work done ,a high revvin 289 you already got the top loader a 9 inch out back BUT keep it lookin all factree lookin on the outside ,thats just my 2 cents
Good morning Penny's Crew , and a fine weekend it is ! Cory , the Henry J 's looking mighty fine , wheel well flange going really well . Very nice to get to take off the quarter panel for welding . The '62 Falcon looks like fun . Small size , light in weight , fun future Ford . Note that I did not try to make a "Futura " type joke . My brain has begun to thaw since spring has arrived shall hope to be at full max by swap meet . Kaptain Kevin ... I salute you ! Sure hope to see you all at Rodarama .

Really is a solid little car we couldnt be happier with it John.
You either love or hate that bodystyle. However they are very simple and LIGHT. Great drag car material. And looks like someone wedged a V8 and 4 speed in there at one time since the V8 didn't become optional until '63 nor did 5 lug hubs. So somebody put some time and $$ into that thing. Sure looks like a nice solid car! Great find!

@@pennyshotrodscustoms I agree Corey, the rounded rear pillar is the best body option. Some came with the squared off roof and it just doesn't flow as nice.

Excellent video Penny's :) also fix upper with new motor plus all needs even nice red body also white stripe to paint ! 171 inline 6 cylinder motor be orgnail in them but 302 Mustang motor be nice add to it !

I like it! The GM front buckets look a little out of place, 68 Cutlass or Skylark I believe.

Just a quick comment from down south. It's a Falcon, not a Folcon (Canadian accent aside) and that console is worth about $300. My favorite model of car.

Granada, maveric, monarch , front spindles bolt right in for disc brakes , just use the outer tie rod end from the doner car

Lol I don't know about that SS sure looks like your getting more cars.
Drop a 5 ltr stang motor in it with the 5 speed stick [overdrive for highway]. Most shite 5 ltr mustangs have those or T-birds even... with the electric fans you could make that work... but a small block chevy? If you had to go GM put a 5.3 junkyard LS in it with a 4L80e with the overdrive [see them in box vans and the like.. service trucks]. Give it some OOMPH and ya tub the arse end and maybe 9 inch rear it lol Hit a junkyard in one of the more populated areas. SPPTV ran a clinic on junkyarding it around Winterpeg :-)) Love this car lads. Noice!

Nice fine you can never have too many old cars as long as you got a place to keep them I would find a little small block Ford put in it love the 4-speed I don't know for sure but does a Ford Mustang rear end fit under that
A 302 is the plan and it already has an 8" with 5 lugs in the rear.
I say since it is set up for a ford small block try to find one and go for it

The four lug is indacation the it was a six cylinder car but if you want the front suspension can be swapped with a mustang front set up it's a bolt on to five lug direct fit I see the back it already a five lug
I'm not a car guy or a Ford guy, but that is one body style I have considered owning.
But I keep finding Chevy trucks instead.
