Just so everyone knows both artist kendrick and drake have ghost written for other artist and have had ghost writers on all of their albums. So they can write but the industry is what it is especially now a days, anyone that makes radio hits never do it by themselves.
Youre confused. Composition/Writing credits aren’t the same thing as someone writing lyrics for them. If you view song credits you’ll see hella names but that don’t mean they wrote the lyrics. They contributed to the music/beat/score/chorus/back up vocals/etc.
Just another stan trying to stand up for his favorite artist. When it says writer in the credits that means that the person helped write it, rather its 1 bar or the whole chorus or the whole entire song. I mix and master music for a living so i deal with alot of artist in the industry and know how alot of stuff is done cause ive been in major studios when songs are being recorded. Ive even seen full songs written for artist like beyonce and nicki minaj where its already recorded and everything and all their doing is rerecording the song. They payed the writter up front for the song so they dont even have to put their name down because the writter no longer has royalty rights over it. So even at times where it doesnt have a writter it could still most likely be written by someone else. All im saying is just because kendrick or drake use ghostwriters at times doesnt mean they cant write a song themselves.

Maybe someone inspired a line and he went off that, but never would he let someone paint his vision. Drake would though. Also drake saying baby keem writes for Kendrick is crazy because Kendrick actually wrote for Baby Keem and its his little cousin. Baby keem was 12 when Kendrick classic albums came out. Its just wild the stretch.
