- Genesis 2:8 "And the Lord God planted a garden in Eden, in the east, and there he put the man whom he had formed". In this story, João (Nuno Pardal) and Pedro (Pedro Sousa Loureiro) live in this garden. What João wants the most is for Pedro to be happy and the only way he found to make that happen is to support him in his escape with Sara (Sara Barros Leitão). On the other hand, Pedro learned how to love João and does not want to leave the garden. But one of them ate the forbidden fruit.

This was such a beautifully composed love story, the passion and the intimacy between them seemed so genuine and pure it was mesmerising. The happy ending made it even better.

I agree with others that this should be a full feature film. It is one of my favorite short films. The kiss in the back of the truck with the Apple in the foreground is so passionately beautiful. I could feel it down to my toes. Thank you for this beautiful artistic work.

So beautiful. João wanted to be strong. I felt his sadness when Pedro left. I knew he was broken when Pedro and Sara drove away. I'm happy that Pedro chose for João. I also loved the symbolism of the apple. Pedro ate, but João did not. Pedro gained knowledge, just like Eve in the Garden of Eden. Only, this was the knowledge of love. Pedro knew that João was his Adam, his true love and therefore had to return to him.

My god the acting in the apple scene is absolutely mesmerizing. The symbolism alone is enough to make this film incredibly interesting but the actors make it absolutely mesmerizing. This is everything I love about short films, one of the most beautiful pieces I have seen in a while.

I've watched this a lot of times and I never get tired of it. The story is beautiful, their dialogue is precious and the lovemaking is so tender, passionate and erotic without being cheap. The feelings of love and pain are perfectly combined and presented in the film. Both men are handsome and display a great chemistry. I wish we could have a longer version of this beautiful story someday. Kudos to the creators and thank you for this beautiful film

@@fabioefe well-done film. There is always the risk of the intimate moments feeling "cheap" as Kevin mentioned, and other things. It is brilliant when it comes across as it does here. There is nothing wrong with sex, but love first makes it better. I hope to see a sequel at some point.

Pero que hermoso cortometraje. No me canso de verlo una y otra vez. Me encantaron los primeros planos. En ningún segundo perdí el interés. El actor Nuno Pardal (Joăo), su actuación es magistral, me emocionaron sus llantos y como brotan sus lágrimas. Con un perfil psicológico profundo. La escena de la manzana es muy significativa, hasta biblica(aunque no soy creyente). Estoy fascinado. Preciosa la polera de Pedro con el iconico rostro de James Dean. La locación muy apropiada, lejos del ruido de la urbe. Agradezco la dirección, la fotografia y la producción. Escuchar el portugués de los portugueses es algo delicioso. I thank Nuno for replying to my message on Instagram.I just couldn't help but message him after watching this wonderful movie. I told him, his breakdown scene in the car was so visceral I could touch it and it pained.Pedro's younger , innocent, vulnerable character is a perfect foil to his mature and wise one.They both together are magic.I couldn't hold back my tears.I don't understand Portuguese at all but I got the emotion instantly.Very effective and nuanced from performance to execution to direction and the haunting background music.Nuno specially is brilliant.kudos to the team.keep doing such different work.Simply outstanding.

Incredible that so much emotion, sensitivity, tension, and engagement -- with all of the characters -- takes place in such a short slice-of-life scene. Everything about this short is on point -- the acting, script, directing, music, and cinematography. Excellent work all around.

I almost ended up with a blue-eyed guy that looks like this one... it would have been my first relationship ever... and guess what I look like the dark-eyed guy... I always cry when I see this because I didn't get the happy ending in my life... it was a disaster.. we had several incredible out of disney dates and then all of the sudden he ghosted me a lot so I gave up after a lot of tries (two years!) ... I later spoke with a friend of his and told me the truth... that he was in love with me but that he let me go because his life was a mess with drugs involved and he really couldn't make me happy... I learned the hard way that love is wishing and doing the best for that person ...
I only wish him well and the best...
