The light beams shooting up to the sky are just in Sebastians head cause he convinced himself that deaths mean something and that he can reunite with his daughter. Proof of that is that once he became doubtful it stopped happening starting Octavio’s death and never happened again.
@@fireworkbutterfly He may not have been hallucinating, or seeing what the creatures what him to see, because why would they show Octavio turning into a Seer like Sebastian and then when he died, his "soul" never left? It was this point where he really started to question if he was being lied to on whether or not his soul can ascend with the others who've died. So maybe seers cannot ascend, because we never saw souls leave any of their bodies in Barcelona like the priest and his followers, just the innocent people.
I get your point! Only from a spiritual aspect tho. Bc, catholics, Santeria, Palo, Yoruba etc All believe in demons Hating/NOT liking their own reflections in mirrors.
SPOILERS: My intake in this is deeper than demons and quantum theory. In the end of the movie it explains how DNA markers can elevate if a person has had some sort of trauma or violence in their life. The reason "seres" are immune to this phenomena is because they can't create more grief and pain than what the affected person has. Sebastian experienced an intense pain and grief when he saw his daughter drop, this automatically took a form of what the phenomena its suppose to do. It didn't affect him because he couldn't suffer greater pain than what he already experienced in the moment. You can't damage what is already broken. Later in the movie I think the elevated DNA marker is the cure and most likely the next movie will explain deeper about this topic. What I'm interested to know is the origin of that phenomena and it's link to grief and pain. It would be interesting if in the end its all linked to mental health which is actually the most epidemic issue that society is having and struggling with in real life.
Suffering builds character. Probably the monsters take whoever has NO character, or as we call them nowadays, NPCs. And those who have a lot of character are immune to it.
My take on this is that they are some sort of Being from another dimension. It tends to show people their worst fear, or the thing that would truly break them the most. Resulting in people killing themselves to stop it. But for the seers, it shows them whatever they desire most, (for the priest it’s God/Angels, for Sebastian it’s his daughter.) They use what the seers want most to convince them that they are doing good, and that everyone else will also see the “most beautiful” thing. And since they do, they truly believe it. I don’t think the lights or “souls” going up are even real. They were only showed to Sebastian to reaffirm to him that what he was doing was good. That’s why later on when he didn’t see Octavio’s, I think the monster slipped up and forget to show him. Resulting in him ultimately questioning and resisting the monster. The monster doesn’t choose its seers based on any morale code. But simply who can be the most influenced by their greatest desire, that they would do anything for it. priest said himself he was ready to see and embrace it. Sebastian had nothing once his daughter had died. Ir simply chooses people who have nothing in their mind, so the monster/creature gives them what they want.
@@HomeOfTheBRAVE. He is, but only because he is manipulated into being one. The creatures use his desire to see/be with his daughter again to make him do what they want (make people see). Sebastian truly believes that the type of miracle being shown to him will be shown to everyone, when in reality they are being shown their worst fears. Sebastian morally does not want to kill people, the “lights” shown to him are to affirm to him that he’s “saving” people. Only when the creature slips and doesn’t show him Octavio’s light does Sebastian realize that these people are not being saved. And thus even tho he can still see his daughter and being promised a reunion, he fights against the creatures will. Sebastian is genuinely a good person.
Wonderful topic, I’m not that much on this one like I’ve been with Bird Box, but you can’t deny the upgrade the Monsters had somehow achieved, projecting different images of theirselves onto people to manipulate them is crazy ✌️

I was surprised to see a second movie in the Bird Box universe that was not based on the sequel to the original book. Maybe because the second novel, Malorie, wasn't a story Netflix wanted to make?
I like the film theory talked about, the concepts of the monster being infinity and our minds not being able to register infinity and making us go crazy, that's why we don't see it on screen aka why the monster is invisible for us (the viewers) but not for the people in the movie. Either way a great movie
I prefer the second movie. It was so good. The first one was boring because they were mostly in the house the whole time and it wasn't good on explaining why certain people could see it and if they saw the creature it made them want to show other people. The second one explains more better to the point where you think you got everything down but something else happens and it puts you on the edge of your seat.
Agreed, I was also intrigued due to Seraphs and theological aspect. Being very interested in these original writings on these angels. So being a fan of angels and the hierarchy made it all the better for me personally. I'll pass on watching the first film. Just seen clips and what not and just doesn't appeal to me.
i guessed from the sound/ light/ energy it spreads. Whenever it’s around it lifts objects and beings have a physical reaction to it, using technology to concentrate its location. Now the question would be if it’s untouchable how could it have been captured? it would then apply it is a physical creature unless the technology can capture energy and sound to this level.
@@deeptruthss you could lore it into a place and seal it in. The only problem is that too much of the the movie seems to be made up on the spot compared to the first movie. It gave me 28 Days later vibes in a way.

They not hinting at aliens. It’s left to the imagination of the viewer but we do know that it walks the earth. The first bird box was good but I prefer this one as it went more in depth as to the perspective shown of the people that’s been exposed.

Given that the Creatures can't move past physical Barriers suggest that they have a Type of form to them. The Fact that they never move any object would indicate that they can't. Lastly they have to use stairs to climb up the tower which indicates that it can't fly and has to walk everywhere. With all this together they either have some gaseous form that has to stay on the ground or a surface or has a Fragile Body. We Never See the Monsters attack during a Storm which could indicate that they can't because its too dangerous for them. i still don't get it why surviving is hard in this universe the demons make loud clear noises when they nearby so once you hear that you close your eyes till then just open it.
It doesn't have to be nearby for you to be affected. In the first movie people died looking at them through their security camera footage and even when driving and its down the road and not directly in front of them. You just can't look at it no matter what. A quiet place would be the best one, the monsters can't swim or fly, so people live on islands, boats, ferries etc freely in the movies, and only the ones on land die.
lol , you are kidding right , always this type of movie , demons ,aliens , zombies are not the ones to fear , double head snake humans are the one to do harm to you ,haha
What if the origins of the monsters were that they are actually The Watchers from the book of Enoch? & that they are sent for judgement instead of watching ?
The Last of Us is a world with a conceivable future. It's horrifying, but it's knowable and moreover eventually the whole zombie population would just kinda die off if you hunker down somewhere (the problem with something being too infectious is, it kills off all of its viable hosts within a particular region very quickly and can then no longer reproduce). It's basically the only one of the three options given where there is conceivable freedom and future.
What if, it's a type of new hallucinogen that went wrong. A news scene in the movie said it spread thae world starting in Europe? A alien attack or a supernatural event has no pattern of attack right?
@@arnoldvon8494 Hallucinogens don’t lift things up the ground. It happens visually happens when the characters are blind folded too so they’re defiantly not hallucinating that, as well as the very real animals that also react to it
I dont know if the stairs thing is supposed to be literal if it is they kind of ruined the concept. Also it would be a major plot whole because people in plans or in the air could never get killed. That would mean you could use helicopters and planes possibly to rescue people. Another plot whole is that it cant stay inside a place. Why is it only outside? Does it need sunlight or something?
i wasnt going to watch it but now i see diego calva and mario casas are in it, so im watching it now. Im never gonna survive in any of those worlds, specially a quiet place. Im not digging the alien angle though, i wouldve loved a more supernatural monster better.

And put myself in the shoes of one of the characters and I would see what Sabastian saw. As I would want to see an Angel in it’s true form. (Maybe.
Lol did you not watch the end of the movie? They are 1000% making another sequel 😂
Sebastian is an unreliable narrator. The biblically accurate angels may or may not be real
I never want to see them but id love like maybe some kind of lore.
watched it today
everyone thinks it's alien, what if it's man made , or super natura.l
If it is something that scientists created then that would be a very interesting twist!
Making a reality breaking being? That would be too far of a stretch
What if, it's a type of new hallucinogen that went wrong. A news scene in the movie said it spread thae world starting in Europe? A alien attack or a supernatural event has no pattern of attack right?
@@arnoldvon8494 Hallucinogens don’t lift things up the ground. It happens visually happens when the characters are blind folded too so they’re defiantly not hallucinating that, as well as the very real animals that also react to it
Or inter dimensional creatures
Haha, yeah A Quiet Place would definitely be the most difficult to survive in!
I THINK ILL MAKE THE NEXT BIRDBOX CALL BIRDBOX POOR BOX And I will blind fold my cats and dog and already blind father. Our adventures will consist of theme parks movies and ice skating.
I hope that in the next movie that they don’t show them only give us hints about their origins
Yeah I think that would be the best way to handle it!
They're aliens. It is said they came here on a ship.
So angel
More like demons, 'Satan can take the form of a light angel'. I dont think angels are manipulative beings.
It's fallen angels being seen in their true form. Like what happened to Moses when he saw a glimpse of God's hind parts
Come on, the monsters are the media, social programming, tech, etc. I thought we all understood it’s “figurative”
I thought exactly the same
The monster is religion, drugs and anything that hurts you but makes you feel comfort.
Birdbox there angels
The main character said it was a Sapherim. And angel with multiple wings. My take on birdbox is a dark take of the Rapture. Everyone must die to ascend. I only didnt understand why the pizza guy didnt ascend.
5:01 you can see the creature's shadow
This could be a production mistake. But who knows
I think it was deliberate!
Whqt if the creatures, were inter-dimensional quantum beings from anciant time, who slumbered in earth, as well in native american lands, and created the legends, like the uktena's pennywise like glow gem.
Suffering builds character. Probably the monsters take whoever has NO character, or as we call them nowadays, NPCs. And those who have a lot of character are immune to it.
you tell us nothing we see in film :D
I believe I would do a quiet place. If I can the creature then I can kill it…
People who are blind already are safe then?
Yeah that's true!
I have kids, I think I’d have to choose the last of us. At least you have a chance at fighting those creatures and I already live in a remote area.
With kids the thought that my 4 year old son and maybe even 2 year old son would be responsible for their own survival terrifies me. I’d have to trust that they would leave their blindfolds on or never make a peep.
I’m no prepper but I do have a large garden and a well stocked gun safe with thousands of rounds of ammo. I would have to choose the world where I can at least have a chance to save my wife and kids instead of just listening to them die.
Mfs in bird box need scrambled googles
Bird box is way fucking easier than the last of us… but maybe if your lucky the last of us would be easier
Scientology funded this movie
weak sauce if this got a sequel where is It follows 2
The souls going up into the sky thing was only for Sebastion because he was religious so it made him see souls going to heaven to trick him. There is no ship.
hhhhh comme on we can’t look to the ☀️ directly haw we can se the angels be smart and don’t fallow the sitane(damn)
I thinks its a bunch pf biblical cherubs on a rampage
😂😂😂 🤔🤔 not quite. Remember only Sabastian saw what appeared to be “seraph angels” hence the shadow glimpses we saw. I mean had me questioning the entire movie if these were angels or not. But then I thought real world, Gods angels are not evil. They don’t control your mind and make you end yourself. They don’t trick our minds into thinking one thing or the other. I know it’s a movie but I was like Nawh!!! I agree with many that have stated these things manipulate you into seeing what you desire most. And put myself in the shoes of one of the characters and I would see what Sabastian saw. As I would want to see an Angel in it’s true form. (Maybe. Lol) because in biblical descriptions they are pretty scary looking. That’s why their first words are always “do not be afraid” in almost every account in the Bible. Just my thoughts. Lol
@@jdavidthepeoplesbarber493 you need to look at an image of a biblical angel and come back. Specifically a cherub
@@jdavidthepeoplesbarber493 could be a rapture or a twist on it
@@q-tip9900 actually you right Cherub and not Seriph. The point was however, at first I thought the same until I thought reality. Cherub angels wouldn’t do such things as shown in the movie. That’s all I was saying good Brotha.
@@q-tip9900 ya know I thought that exact thing too at first. Lol not even gone lie. I mean the way they presented it.
Barcelona IS NOT Spain.
Wrong It’s A Biblical Angel
Wrong
This completelyyyyyyyyyyy horrible movie. Super completely dumb. I mean super. Devastatingly trash
Last of us lol
Awful movie
Waste of time tbh😒
man i fell asleep while watching this , weird language as well
What a fail!! The spin-off is crap, they should have just left us with the original until they were ready to put in effort, to create something as good as the original.
The symbol of the One Eye, following the prophecy in Islam about the Dajjal/Anti-Chris who will come at the end of the world.
That Dajjal/Anti kris has a symbol of a one-eyed figure.
I believe this film is trying to take a picture of the apolistic story of Islam and Christianity about the coming of the Dajjal or AntiChris creature about the end of the world...!!!
Sounds like what can actually happen with the drones and orbs in the sky going on rn
