Dak Prescott and Andy Dalton are the same. One cost 3 million the other wants 40 million plus.. Not a hard decision to make here...
Must be if it hasn’t been made yet. Saw a report that says cowboys lose 4 points a game by playing dalton instead of dak. That’s a big difference
Dalton is probably past his prime, dak is entering his but yeah, thats really only the main difference is if JJ thinks dak will progress.
BennyBlanco no way I disagree, I think dak got better but idk if he can get that much better
Dak is losing the PR war with this one.
@SomeGetByOnLess no man I have to say the truth.. she doesn’t what she’s talking so someone has to tell her that.
Dak and his agent doesn’t care about the PR war. Only the zealous fans that never negotiated a contract for their services which leaves most clueless about contract negotiation. The worst scenario for Dak in the short term is they rescind his franchise tag, which they will not do. Jerry will die before they win the Super Bowl if they let Dak go and replace him Dalton.
Let's face it. What team in the NFL right now would pay Dak and start him? Nobody. He happened to be put in a position with the most talent in the NFL by far. An great OL and running game. Can you imagine him on Cinncinati.
Most talented team in the nfl don’t know about that on paper the Bucs , the Browns and chiefs just to name a few
I think signing Dalton brought the cowboys leverage that they didn't have before. Let this sucka go! He's average!
I'd take Cam over Dak too. Dak is so average man. The guy has balls of steel though I will give him that.
Holifield23
Actually Dak DOESN’T have a job...
He hasn’t signed the Exclusive Franchise Tag Contract.
Until he does...
He’s gainfully unemployed...
Andy Dalton on that team will go 11-5 and win a playoff game against the Vikings in the wild card
@@reggiereg1785 with the bangles tho its the same with dak he went 8-8 with this team
And in Dak situation if he did decide to walk who wants him maybe the Colts but who? he not better than cam Newton or wentz or cousins or Geoff
Depends how my Vikings corners turn out, but we don’t have the best record with 1st round corners
I disagree with Mark Schlereth. What team is going to "Scoop up" Dak for 35M+ a year?
Is Dak Prescott better than Cam Newton. I must say he is more accurate and he spread the ball around a little better. But overall at this point he is not better than Cam Newton
This media narrative is turning exactly how I said it would. The only thing that would make this more entertaining is if Dallas rescinds the tag.
John Billings if Dallas rescinds the tag, then Dak becomes a free agent!
Cut cut cut Dak please. Move on Jerry move on .
@@TakablePond he isnt picked by coaches lmao, u think real coaches think that ha ha ha okay!

He lost all leverage when they signed Dalton. Doesn't mean Jerry won't cave, but Dak certainly doesn't have leverage when he's mediocre unless every thing goes right for him with the team around him.
He has the leverage that's why Cowboys won't remove the tag. Cowboys can play Dalton but to gamble on Andy being as good is bad for business. Also Andy is on a 1 year deal which means you'll have to find another QB AGAIN!!
@@isaacsantiago9324 they can sit with Andy who is just as good as Dak when he has a great offense around him, until Dak gives in. Dak has no leverage. The only way he gets what he wants is if Jerry idiotically caves because he thinks Dak is better than he is.
@@isaacsantiago9324 what's bad for business is drastically overpaying a QB
@@isaacsantiago9324 SO, WITH DAK THE Last 2 season as he has gotten MORE experienced and teams have also become more familiar (tape), Dak is, 10-6 (division stunk!!) beating only 2 playoff teams. 8-8 (division stunk again) beating only 1 playoff team (eagles). smh losing to SIX playoff teams!!!!
@@padraigmurphy3540 there not willing to do that hence the Exclusive franchise tag is still there. How do you know Andy will be as good as Dak?? We don't know. What if he fails or gets hurt? He is older. Then what?? That's why Cowboys won't let Dak go.
The signing of Andy Dalton took a lot of Dak’s leverage away. Dak isn’t $30+ million better than Dalton is.
Give Cam a one year, $20 million dollar deal. Dalton as the safety net. Move on from Dak. The fans will always be sour towards his demands and when he has a bad game they’ll be merciless. Let’s all end this marriage NOW
@@TakablePond his career year is 8-8 and no playoffs with a mostly healthy team with studs all around him...yes move on from dak. Then toss in the fact that IF IF its true he wants 40 -45 million and your only giving Andy 3 million
He only has leverage if the Cowboys really want him above Dalton and Cam Newton...
They want him over Dalton and Newton. How do I know? Dalton has signed to a bargain contract. They wouldn't think twice to pay Dak, or continue negotiations above 30 M.$, if they don't believe Dak is way better.
If you could go with a good (or even average) franchise QB for 3 M. $ per year you have basicly solved the salary cap problem for good. So they think he is backup material at best, or this would be over.
And Dak doesn't need to be 12times better to deserve 12times the money. One TD more can be a big difference for a franchise. It would have made a huge difference last year.
Cowboys can sign Cam Newton on the cheap and have Dalton as the best back-up QB in the NFL. Cam has been to the Super Bowl. It is obvious that Dak can't get Dallas there. Dak is not worth the money he is demanding. Hit the road Dak.
SFY has been reporting *E V E R Y W E E K* on Dak's "contract / non contract /overpay / underpay
is he worth it / is he not worth it" since preseason of 2019. . . . . *E V E R Y W E E K!*
Dak overrated
Dallas Chavez not the cowboys organization or the fans. I mean he ain’t trash but he’s not worth a historical contract
Whitlock on the money, as always lol. I'm just going to say this every episode I watch. Because he's always right.
Dak will be packing groceries soon.
The reason Dalton was brought in was to make Dak expendable. It’s working.
Dak thinks he’s worth Carson Wentz money but he isn’t delivering on that level.
Carson Wentz, the guy who has played a total of like one drive in the playoffs ever and never won a playoff game?
who's beaten his door down with 40 mill.
Who is beating down his door with 30-32? Dallas is the only team I see being willing to pay him that. Too many questions about him and his consistency for other teams to bring him in at that price
Not even the Jets . Name 6-7 teams that would drop their qb and take Dak, it'll take you longer than 5 minutes to think about that.
@@briansnead4787 I honestly can't think of anyone. No one thinks Dak is a Franchise changer in his own so for a team to pay him what he's asking they'd have to be in win now mode. Most teams in win now already have their guy and teams that aren't close to winning now wouldn't see the point in paying him. The only team that's somewhat of a possibility is the Chargers but given that they just drafted a QB in the 1st round I'm inclined to think they'd pass on him too. Unfortunately the same thing applies to trading him
@@SportsSpeak73 an X factor determining the lesser teams that would take him would rather tank for Lawrence. The possibility of a rookie on your team over Dak 4 years in.
I think even the Redskins would rather keep their unproven rookie or think about the Jets. Darnold. You'd rather have him just on potential upside. No one thinks Dak will improve to superstar status. You can't gain cannon arm or impeccable accuracy. He's terrible on deep balls. How can you consider him top notch qb when he routinely air mails or underthrows deep balls. And Cooper bailed him out on multiple occasions.
@@SportsSpeak73 Jerry's old and doesn't have faith in the draft. Call Daks bluff and watch him obtain Cam status . If Jerry wasn't around, Stephen would have already cut bait. Scooped up in a heartbeat by who?..Carolina,Jacksonville bout da only two teams who'd need him..but NOBODY else would even come close to paying him that much besides Dallas
Dak has one thing in his favor, that Jerry Jones often forms an emotional bond with his players, which clouds Jones' judgement. Folks say Jerry Jones likes Dak personally, which means Jerry will sign him to whatever amount, even when all of us can see that's a mistake.
Yep, I would rather have Cam and Dalton over Dak
Whitlock for the first time in a decade, I agree with you. If Dak is smart, which I don't believe.
He better sign for 20/mil. And walk away happy.
If Dak were Mahommes or even Deshaun Watson, he'd be signed already because teams are off the opinion that their worth it. The perception about Dak is he can't carry a roster & that his success to this point has been largely based on having talent around him. Fact is whenever he's been missing just 1 piece, he's struggled. He's also struggled against quality teams.
Well you can also put that blame on coaches the fg kicker and a lot of issues in the secondary
@@dawayneclowney3757 maybe, but Dak had a 1:1 Td:int ratio against playoff teams last year. That ain't good, h that's all him. If im paying you 34M+ I need you either vee bigtime box office or consistently stellar...Dak has been neither
People are overlooking the fact that Jerry can just file the divorce papers and move on. Dalton is solid. At some point owners are going to have to reset the pay scales. You don't think
owners are regretting the Jimmy G and Cousins deals? Wentz? Goff?
the difference is you whites dont ever complain about overpaid white qb's
IsmokeHiphop Live guess you don’t talk to a lot of rams and Vikings fans stop with the race BS
forgive a dumb question and someone correct me if Im wrong - the 175 they keep mentioning over 5 years it doesnt matter beyond the guarantee correct? Cant any team get out of any long term deal after 1 year and all they owe is the amount guaranteed at signing?
Yes 100% which is why people want to know how much the guranteed money is. And u notice we can’t get a concrete answer on that so that should tell u it’s some bs going on
Not a dumb question in fact it is what makes these debates pointless because until you know the guaranteed money you don't know what is being turned down or accepted. They could say the deal is much higher than 175 but if only 80 or 90 guaranteed Dak wouldn't take it.
Matt Turley well wake up. Are we talking about dak. Me 4900 yds can def hit a receiver in stride. Cut it out bro
He doesn't have the leverage because Jerry Jones has the money and Dak is trying to get paid
He said mahomes don’t have as much leverage as dak? That’s the dumbest thing I’ve heard today, your boy dak is like 1-6 in post season
Where would Dak go if released that would have the cap space to pay what he's asking?
Absolutely nowhere especially with Trevor Lawrence on the table next year.
If Dak don’t change his tune and settle for 15-20 million for this next contract then ask for higher down the road, his career won’t be long at all. I don’t see a team out there willing to fork over 40+ million a season for an avg QB that barely wins a playoff game......
Given what Andy did with the Bengals and his minimum of 10 wins a season, Andy will light up the stats with the Cowboys weapons.
The Bengals had the first draft pick in the draft. You don't get that for good play. And they took the pick and got a q.b
I agree, I never thought dak was that good. I'm no football expert by any means, but I have 2 good eyes. He just ain't nothing special
If he had nearly that much leverage he'd be paid already. It's just a game of chicken right now and pride means that Jerry Jones will win. If Dak makes him go through with the tag all year, he's getting released because Jones will never pay him what he'll turn around and ask for next year (which will be more than this year).
Dak is possibly going to ruin a long career he could have in Dallas. Greed is going to be his downfall and if he’s cut he will be lucky if he’s a starter on another team.....
Dak is close to sinking his own ship, greedy man makes a needy man
Dak is a good QB. He has potential to be even better, but i am not sure he ever be a super star QB. I pay him good money but not to a large sum of stupidity.
“Dak has the most contract leverage of anyone in the history of the NFL” lmao Christ can I have Mike’s job?! They got Dalton on the roster for next to nothing and guess who’s waiting by the phone? A former MVP that would play for that Cowboy roster at a THIRD of what they offered Dak..
Dak's taking a huge risk. What if he signs the tag and goes 8-8 again. He'll be lucky to make Teddy Bridgewater money.
@@cjweisman Dak knows that. He's trying to get money now, cause if he signs the Tag and has to go out another year and prove himself, his agent knows he cant.
How many playoff games has Dak won? And, zero Superbowls. I liked Dak in the beginning, humble, hard worker, improving talent and play skill, but this prolonged contract negotiation demanding more money than other Superbowl quarterbacks earn is egotistical in my view.
I'm going to give Dak the benefit of the doubt until Training Camp comes because of his brother passing away. Until then, I'm not taking any of the gossip and/or reports seriously.
Mark came with those Haymakers in this one. 😁😁😂😂🤣🤣
Really? Who’s beating the door down to sign this guy? They better have a loaded team if they do

Give Dak all the money. Itll ruin the team for a decade. I love it
Dak has absolutely has no leverage. The guy saying that he has leverage has to say that for the sake of the show! SMH!!
Let Dak go and bring in Cam Newton and you got 2 good QB's with Andy Dalton. Also you can save alot of money this year.
They need to drug test Dak Prescott because he's coming across like he's the best quarterback in the NFL trying to hold out for Russell Wilson money or more? Forget his stats from last year with second most yards passed for. That didn't mean squat. What means something is your team record and with all those stats he had last year the Cowboys could only finish 8 wins and 8 losses. Also there is another discouraging stat on Dak Prescott last season, he was 1 win and I believe 7 loses against teams with winning records. You do not pay somebody anywhere close to 35 million dollars a year that Just finished struggling to beat winning record teams. You pay someone that amount of money that can go in there and beat those teams. Dak Prescott cannot perform, and look at all that Talent he has on that offense? To add insult to injury, in the last game of the season where he should have taken the Cowboys to the playoffs, he could not even beat a weak Philadelphia Eagles team that had their best starters on defense out and we're playing second string players. I hope Jerry Jones is smart enough to see the real stats of Dak Prescott last season. He is a glorified loser.
Amen bro👏🏽👏🏽 so tired of hearing about stats like they’re fantasy football out there

With Andy Dalton there, he has no leverage. The Cowboys can go on without him. This is what greed gets you.
Once the details of a negotiation leak into the public domain, it's usually lost...
The big problem is that most of the conversations about Daks contract are assumptions cause no one that matters is talking
The theoretical deal on the table is ;
5 Years /35 Mill a year
Daks camp is saying that 35 Mil is fine, but *only* if it is for 4 Years
If it has to be 5 Years than that last year needs to be worth an extra 10 Million
So there is NO DEAL ON THE TABLE for 4 Years / 35 Million, that is one of the options Daks camp wants
The Cowboys would probably want a lower base Salary if they only get to lock him up for 4 Years instead of 5
Sleeping Whitlock awake and making sense and so is Martelius
Dak is not gonna get scoop up that easily. He will get humble when all no one pick him up
That's not reality. You underestimate how many bad QBs there are in the league.
The bad qb in the is not asking for 40+mil a year. Cowboys should just sign Cam for a year for under 20mil and Dak will quickly realize that hes not all that.
I'm sure teams would go after Dak if he was a free agent, but I doubt any team would offer him more that what the Cowboys have already offered him.
@@jluu6r the point is he would still get paid. That's why he has the leverage. The Cowboys would downgrade if they let him go.
@@Jukeboxster No doubt going to Dalton from Dak would be a downgrade on offense, but imho its not a huge downgrade and they could upgrade the defense with the $35M+.
It's like the Liberal media is rallying behind Dak. He has no leverage. If he doesn't sign the tag, he's gone. If he signs a long-term deal, it won't be $40 million dollars plus, he might not even set the annual record, Cowboys win. If he signs the tag and plays poorly and/or loses games, he's gone. HE'S NOT GETTING FRANCHISED AGAIN.
doesn't have the leverage because of NE, Jets, Philly practice players, Buffalo, bad games important games didn't get the job done.

Jerry there is no super bowl in the cards if you go with DAK
Dak Prescott isn't good enough to classify as having leverage....there's a reason why Jerry and Stephen hasn't paid Dak yet...I'm almost sure it's because he's not "THAT GOOD"
Whitlock speaking facts
Jerry Jones Over Pays Dak and Still Dak won't Sign. Wow!
Yes. What you guys did not say is, Dak burned his bridge. Andy Dalton would be more than suitable. Furthermore, Dak will not land any playoff bound team for YEARS! Let him go and find his real misery himself.
Dak has leverage until July 15th because Stephen Jones said they will not remove the franchise tag. The Newton-Dalton vs Dak argument makes no sense because no one is going to sign Newton because he cannot take a physical in this environment.
Whitley is correct. Dak is average QB but durable
Please rescind the Tag NOW. Mark, you are crazy if you think another team would swoop in and grab Dak if the Cowboys rescinded the Tag. Tell me what team is going to pay Dak?
Stink said if Dallas cuts Dak he’ll get scooped up in no time, WHAT and at what price ?
Stink over spoke that time , I think maybe 1 team will want Dak if Cam gets signed before him
Dak snatched up that quick?? Who else would pay Dak his money besides the cowboys?
Marks just taking counter point. Listening to people take on views they don’t believe is a waste of time.
Whitlock on point here regarding Dalton vs Dak, Dalton is a little more accurate though
I think Dak could get released. I'm surprised people aren't thinking Cam Newton goes to Dallas.
lol idk how people come with these opinions. I was so happy we signed dalton and that’s how we got our leverage
They should of signed dak a year before. The cowboys put themselves in this position and now they have to pay for it either giving dak his money or losing him
Its Dak's agent who is behind this.Dak's agent doesn't care about the dallas cowboys or the salary cap. HE doesn't care if they win or lose. He doesn't care about the fans or players. Heck, he doesn't even care about dak. All he cares about is how much money he can make off of Jerry Jones. This man is the agent for other players around the NFL. He doesn't care about their teams either. But you can also blame Dak Prescott too. So i say let him walk.
Whitlock must be on Jerry Jones payroll. He is always talking negative about DAK. Stay out of his pocket!!!!!
Whitlock, I agree with you. Thanks
Again waving all this in front of those who have lost everything, and Michigan is pretty sad
Pay that man!!! Negotiations should began at what the franchise tag is offering if you want to keep him. Just my opinion!! Not to mention that if Dallas doesn't pay him the Giants will and he'll reconnect with Jason Garrett and destroy the Cowboys for the next 10 seasons
If you say that andy did not have a good team around him but is as good as dak but andy took the bengals to the playoffs that means he is better then dak if you suround him with a good team.
Pay this bum 500 mil already, so we can get this over with.
I think cam and Dalton with the money saved is a Dream scenario could have a real super bowl window
Dak, who as a person and player I really like, but let's be honest most of his elevated numbers came in garbage time when his team was trailing in the 2nd half. That means he couldn't keep his team in games in the 1st half. I think Dallas realizes that, wants to franchise him, them let him move on. Dallas will draft a QB next season, or Dalton plays on a good team and gives them 4 to 5 years in the playoffs and maybe Super Bowl.
Here comes the Red Rifle, what Mark forgot to mention is Dalton did all that with the worst coach in the league, Marvin Lewis. Pull that franchise tag cause he's not going to show up for any ota's. Got a new coach, coordinator, system and an owner who wants to win now.
What are your thoughts on Dak Prescott's contract negotiation?
Cam and Andy, everyday and twice on Sunday. And while we're at it, I would seriously think about a trade for Watson if there's even a shot.
I'd like to see Cam and Dalton battle for the starting job.
Whitlock is a hater and has an agenda. Stop hating on others people money
Fatboy be quiet please!
Jason Stowell yes he lost a lil leverage when they signed dalton but doesn’t matter because it cowboys don’t cut him and keep negotiating with him that shows dak and his agent that they aren’t serious about dalton. And u can’t compare real estate business model to that of nfl qbs lol. And they say dak asked for 4 years but cowboys want 5 so yea if ima give u another year u should give me something too (like extra pay) that’s negotiating or cowboys can take the 4 years dak wants anyway
