Inspirat dintr-o poveste reală, Machine Gun Preacher prezintă povestea vieții lui Sam Childers (Gerad Butler), un fost traficant de droguri care decide să lase în urmă viața tumultoasă pe care o avea și pleacă într-o călătorie în estul Africii. Bărbatul simte că este momentul să descopere ceva în care să creadă, pentru a-și schimba viața. În momentul în care ajunge în Sudan, Childers este impresionat de lumea dezolantă din acea zonă și mai ales de copiii antrenați să fie soldați. Astfel, bărbatul decide să construiască un refugiu pentru cei mici, chiar dacă asta înseamnă să își facă singur legea și să pună mâna pe armă.

In this movie, if things had played out, most these kids would have died or lived horrible lives - BUT for a moment, in that play ground, they were happy and alive, experiencing more in a moment than most westerners ever do.

HOW IN HELL CAN THIS MOVIE that is telling the true story of a heroic man SAM CHILDERS did not get any price but only ONE NOMINATION AT THE GOLDEN GLOBES and only made $3 million at the box office, a mere 1/10 of its $30 million budget. I JUST DON'T GET IT and a stupid SH.. like Norbit with great actor Eddie Murphy WIN Academy Awards, Golden Raspberry Awards 2007 and 2009, Women Film Critics Circle Awards and had 9 NOMINATION WTF.....
