You what? The first season of Psycho-Pass is one of my two all time favourite anime. That said, season 2 is an absolute abomination that should've never been been made. Nor should it be on this list. It should be forgotten by everyone in hopes that the creators declare it non-canon and give us a sequel that continues on from the movie.

Season one is so good that it makes me cry. The one episode of season two that I managed to watch made me want to cry, but for completely different reasons.
Season one was made by a team of geniuses. It's a brilliant, unique and thought-provoking story with great writing and outstanding production value. The characters are all amazing and are voiced by a number of all-star seiyuu.
Season two sucks because it didn't have the original production team behind it. The scriptwriter and director were busy working on the movie, and the animation was done by a sub-branch of the same studio, which makes it dodgy at best. Seriously, stay away from it.
Anyways, I do hope you'll enjoy it. Considering how amazing it is, I find it to be extremely underrated for some reason. I can at least say that I've yet to find someone who could give me a good explanation of why they didn't enjoy it.

The most popular mainstream crap that gives Anime a bad name.* Just goes to show that if your anime doesn't have tons of pretty boys or at least lots of jiggling tits, *you won't succeed OUTSIDE of Japan.* In Japan, they're pretty harsh on the quality of their media which is why *Jojo's Bizarre Adventure ranked number 1 in its homeland,* both in the past and now with its remake. *The Japanese would probably be laughing in hysteric shock if they saw this list.*
All it shows is that the *majority of foreigners are into anime for the fanservice, the hentai, and the flashy seizure inducing special effects* that only counts as *high quality if jiggle breasted girls are involved.* To hell with this crap.
The community is what's wrong with anime nowadays. The absence of anime like Hajime no Ippo: Rising and Mushishi proves it.

i'm actually about to start it tonight and know nothing about it but anyone who's seen it has only said good things. i'm stoked. this whole time i didn't know crunchyroll even had it because they have it listed under the english name "terror in resonance"..

Of course the more popular anime are gonna be on top. If an anime from 2014 is very good (which I know quite a few that weren't on this list are) it doesn't necessarily mean that it's popular.

Yayrin Sword Art Online is very popular and I think that a lot of people here don't consider SAO a 'good anime'
Gamer96 SAO is a good anime imo. Of course, it is not the top best, but it is still a good enjoyable to watch.

I think that if you don't nitpick SAO it is actually quitte enjoyable.
