Hi. Could you explain the technique on herringbone and chevron floors? Thanks

Hi @Redru-on8or - Easier to show you than to explain in text here, but we'll give it a shot. The real key is that you want to avoid cross-grain pull marks. Depending on the direction of the herringbone or chevron, you might be better off to follow a 45-degree line in the floor, working segments in that manner, rather than straight down the longest run of the floor like usual. Anywhere you apply the Chroma product cross-grain, you should immediately feather those edges with a cut-in pad or brush. Otherwise, the process remains pretty much the same. Hope that gives you a pretty good mental picture of how we'd tackle a patterned floor with Bona Chroma.

My Flex drive is only one speed.

Hi @johnventura2977 - If you mean your Bona FlexiSand buffer, then yes, it's only one speed from the central shaft but the heads of the drivers you can attach will spin at different speeds. Standard 16" round drive plate will spin at roughly 175rpm's, while each 5" disc on the Bona MultiDisc spin at around 440rpm's, giving you a different finish using the same abrasives.
Let us know if you have any questions in particular relating the speed of your buffer plates and the application of Bona Chroma. Thanks!

Hi @sergdamian1324 - It's the technique needed for Bona's new waterbased wood floor coloration system -- Bona Chroma. With new technology comes new techniques as well; though you'll see a blend of tried-and-true old school techniques throughout. Enjoy!

Smashed the trim. Slow process. Real floor guys would probably make a much better video. In a dry state like Colorado that stain will set up moving that slow. Picky customers won't allow the Qtr Round destroyed.

Hello@@clivine924 - It's not slow when you get used to the "new" process, it's just different. Would be happy to have you in the studio to make a "better" video for us; but just keep in mind that training videos and real-life are a bit different to create. All of these videos and our full 2,300 sq/ft main lobby are in Colorado and we didn't have a problem with Chroma setting up. We always test across a wide range of environmental conditions. Also, not sure what you mean about the quarter-round being destroyed. We got some product on it, but it's easy to remove while wet or once dry.
Change and innovation aren't for everyone; so rest assured that there's always oil-based stains and OMU available for you to use. Good Luck!
