This is genius of a cover if you ask me. Katsionis arrangements and Chryso's voice really brought it to new level. Keeps the solid, relentless "battle" riff lines and adds a whole new world of lyricism and drama. Sakis is and should be proud of it, as it highlights the energy and the dynamics of the original without taking anything away from its mystic charm.

This what you get when you take a simple but powerful original and make it your own. This is so comfortably accommodated in Chrysilia's album that nobody could imagine the original is a black metal song. Powerful lyrics by almighty (and missed) Mutilator, now making sense through the out of this earth voice of Chrysilia's singer, Chryso. Bob Katsionis touch is fairly obvious in this one, Chryso's signature and the real full orchestra and choir make it a masterpiece of a cover. On repeat in my car for months.
There are times that words can't describe what you listen to. This is Chrysilia: an amalgam of power metal skillfully blended with folk and soundtrack elements, to the point of perfection. Every song has it's own character and every song is a part of a coherent story. The story needs two to three times to absorb which makes it the "Mulholland Drive" of metal. Everything you wish for is here, but only rarely in a cliche way: perfect lead vocals, choirs, powerful guitars, melodies you can associate with. The best Rotting Christ cover I have ever heard.

Ok, what did just happen here? A classic black metal anthem of the '90s goes comic/animation from a power/symphonic female-fronted band who made up melodies from the black metal growls? And the press release I read is stating the band is making this as a statement opposing heavy metal "labels"? How dare you? YOU GUYS FUCKING RULE. WHOEVER THOUGHT OF THIS FUCKING RULES.
