A true professional. When Fleury was a rookie, the Penguins demoted him to the minors because they didn't have a salary cap and couldn't afford his contract at that time. When Fleury was a soon to be free agent, he could have gotten paid a lot more money elsewhere but decided to take less to be part of a winning team that started with him being drafted number one overall. After being injured a few years ago, Matt Murray filled in his position and never gave it back. How many athletes would have taken this treatment and not demanded a trade or to be released. Marc-Andre Fleury is the BEST!
I remember in the beginning when he had his yellow pads. I was like grade 5 when he had that unlucky bounce in junior when he was in team Canada. Watched his whole career. Many years left too. Been a pleasure watching my fellow French-Canadian show the power of the flower.
