We live in the information age: a staggering 2.5 quintillion bytes of data is created every day. Even so, some blind spots remain: we still don’t know enough about the gender equality and injustices women and girls face every day. People have worked for decades to get women and girls at the center of the global health and development agenda. That was about giving voice to the voiceless. Now it’s about making the invisible visible. and how data can affect gender equality through the use of data.

The points in this video are right for the countries in the middle east where feminism is actually needed and no one really talks about it. Instead everyone shouts and criticises the west where equality between genders is the best in the world. This man hating is creating the very same gender gap feminism is against

Yeah, the message got lost on me. First world vague problems got conflated with third world problems and the problems women face are not just implied, but asserted, in spite of the speaker clearly stating that the data is crap and confusing.
I know there are issues related to equality where the main target of fixing the problem is women. But videos like this one sound so politically biased rather than having a humanitarian and equality perspective. Women who have achieved equality are told they are entitled to demand compensations for fictional problems based in bad and deliberately misleading uses of data making gender equality a topic of comedy and ridicule much more than it is a topic of progress.
I usually find the GatesFoundation to be a trustworthy charity that tries to make progress in the world. This video is so vague, most likely in part not to offend these people in the first world who believe they are victims of a long list of imaginary slights and first world problems, that it fails to show a seperation of fictional and real problems.

      This guy gets it!
What invisibility? What problems? What inequality? These people say we're missing data on women = that is such a vague sentence it gives me a head-spin just to think about. I'm pro gender equality, but I have yet to see some solid proof that a 1st world country has inequality that cannot be explained with 1st grade high school economics.

Topes Jeebal I was surprised too. medium.freecodecamp.com/women-only-said-27-of-the-words-in-2016s-biggest-movies-955cb480c3c4 This is one example. Also medical training and emergency room diagnoses, I read recently.

@@Purplehairedpimp Yeah but USA has an orange for a president and guns for school supplies, I think that the USA is too big for its own good and so the problems the states have are multiplied because maybe only one state in the USA has the issue but you can technically say "well this big ass prospering country still has the issue!" Usually, it doesn't, a lot of the times its just parts of the country, in the USA it is mainly the south which has more tumbleweed than brains.

If you are skeptical of feminism it is not that great. It just throws around a number of ideas with the theme of women being disadvantaged. It is disingenuously appealing to the natural inclination of both genders to help women. It actually says little of substance.
The west already has a strong preference for programmes in the third world that help girls. There are dozens of "education for girls" efforts and few for boys. campaignforeducationusa.org/blog/detail/so-what-about-the-boys-an-insight-into-how-a-girls-education-program-impact

I don't understand what people think is wrong with the video. From what I've seen, there ought to be more information and data concerning women and girls so that any injustice and inequalities can be better dealt with. It's just a plea for more information. What's so wrong?

We need to help women in those countries, not just wait for the men in power to decide that they should give up some power to women. They will not do it soon at all, so we need to help. Also, women (especially black women) are underpaid. The wage gap exists.
