P3 STREET EXHIBITION || SAYAW NG KULTURANG BUHATEÑOS STREET DANCE COMPETITION || KUWAW FESTIVAL 2024
The people of Buhatan recently decided to create a Festival in honor of the Kwaw fish called “Kwaw Festival”. This festival was started last March 29, 2014 and will now be celebrated annually to give thanks for the existence of Kwaw which they consider as a blessing to my barangay.
The dapdap tree is associated with the kwaw fish because it’s red blossoms determine whether it is time to fish. Like the kwaws, the dapdap only blooms every February to April. It’s flower is as red as the fish’s color.
Even this year still celebrates the festival to thank the Lord for the grace received by people in the office Sto. Domingo Albay due to the months of March and April are no hungry people in the village because they have money for profit in their daily lives.
