Bloody great rifles, I’ve got an old M77 paddle stock in 308, she shots .5 moa with so much different ammo it’s insane. Magic rifle...👍 shoots better than my ruger precision any time....

I’ve got the exact same model, but chambered in .30-06
Hopefully it shots as well as yours 🤞🏼🤞🏼

It’s actually good to see a review that definitely DID NOT go to plan. Very few blokes will post a review of anything wherein the item being reviewed doesn’t come up trumps and it’s the next big thing we should all rush out the door and buy. Good honest stuff here: as hard as it is to believe(?), not everything is top notch. Some things just don’t work, and those things need reviewing as well: perhaps more so.

Thanks. What you see is all one take on the day-of filming. Unlike others that cherry pick and trash products just for the sake of it. I am not owned by any gun company so I can say the truth. You won't see me backtracking about what I say in a review, because a company told me to.

I have a n77 mk 1 rugger chambered in 30-06. Its very accurate for a hunting rifle. I just have fitted a redfield 6x18 scope. looking forward to taking it out to a 1000m range soon.

I've learned (the hard way) sometimes it's about how a rifle FITS / works - for YOU.
I have a Henry (HEN001) lever action 22, ok it's no target rifle (3/4" groups at 25 yds on the bench), but I can MISS a 4" steel plate from 25yds standing. 6x scope, 'unexplained' misses (thought I was on target when I fired).
BRNO mod 2, even open sights, I can bang the steel all day (I just DON'T miss). It's something about the ergonomics of the Henry that I just don't shoot it well. Henry 3/4" @ 25yds (benchrest), BRNO 1/2" @ 25 yds (benchrest), but HUGE difference in how well I shoot them in the field. (On the other hand, with a few 'SPEED-D-LOADERS', I can put such a rate of fire through the Henry I got it hot enough to discolour the bluing on the barrel - I didn't know you could do that with a 22, eat ya heart out Mr Johnnie Howard)

I have noticed a similar thing with my Henry as well. How many different brands/velocities of ammo have you put through the Henry? I have a Voere .22 that literally will not chamber anything but CCI standards where my Ruger American target .22 gobbles up anything like a stoned cookie monster without batting an eyelid (not that either have eyelids.... but whatever) so it would be interesting to see if it has a preference and if so, what that is.

From the sounds of it, his mate can shoot it pretty well so the results here probably torpedoed the original premise of the video. Just guessing, but the merits of re-barrelling or something like it perhaps?

It’s amazing how some guys can shoot guns and shoot very well yet when we try it’s the wtf is this one of my mates used to shoot a 30/06 with the old $100 Tasco and adjusted the front blade site with a file but shot like a sniper with it.

rugers are not the most accurate, but good enough for most practical hunting. here in alaska you will see more rugers than any other rifle, they are just tough and the most reliable in every way. you can drop them and not lose your point of aim. iv'e tried more accurate rifles like browning and remington but you can't bump the scope with anything other wise you lose your point of aim. scope bases use 4 tiny little screws to hold the scope bases on, are you kidding me!!! total junk. i missed two bucks one day because of this. iv'e taken well over 100 animals over the last 35 years with rugers. check your head spacing and do a glass bedding job, your accuracy will improve...some one put an after market barrel on that ruger...could be issues.....
