"Is Super Mario Odyssey music like this?" Yes! The premise of the game is going on a holiday tour to a whole bunch of different places around the world, so each stage theme is meant to evoke a different (generally pleasant) outdoor locale. This particular one is a sort of jungle/forest area. There are two different beach/swimming-based stages, though, since you mentioned it having a beach feel.
@@mateombot7493 Reminds me of seeing a video that went into Western movie music (enrico morricone)...and it's built on surf rock! The revelation of 'It's not just for the beach!?'

Although everybody's been talking about how "different" this music is from earlier Mario music, it's worth noting that this track was actually composed by veteran Super Mario composer, Koji Kondo. He deliberately gave this a 1960s vibe, as the world this music plays in has a lot of these robot inhabitants, and the whole theme is saving the flowers from being sucked up by the enemies, so the whole "flower power" hippie vibe is in full force here. Mario often has a type of music that's sort of jazz/swing/big band. Also the type of songs I can only describe as epic/grand. And almost all of it is very catchy.
