Russian honey cake is an incredible cake with tons of extremely thin layers of cake that is flavored with caramelized honey, a whipped cream or sweetened condensed milk based icing/filling that holds the layers together and crumb coating on the outside. It is incredibly labor intensive to make and it is a phenomenal desert. So basically: When Galina says she makes a mean honey cake, she's saying that she is an incredibly skilled baker.
I think Hanyu felt he could speak up about COVID because of a sense of responsibility he has of his influence - different case when you alone make the decision to skate through a concussion and another to attend a skating competition knowing that you are essentially a super spreader event for others. I always super appreciate TSL videos esp when I can't keep up with fs socials - off to go check out various programs and clips!
Anna did not have a fever, that was an invention on the side of yana and her husband, if she had had it or had managed to perform the FS as happened with Samudorova in the tests, who withdrew
49:45 Nathan has had a couple of standout programmes in recent years. His "Caravan" SP from 2018-19 was outstanding. And his Rocketman 2019-20 was just sublime. I'd still love to see Nathan take on "Fiddler on the Roof", I think with the right choreography (and acting - maybe he could have a chat with Ashley), it could be amazing.
I'd like to see him skate to The Mandalorian! That way he can be "cool", play a jedi & skate to music the audience will like! I worry he's been giving the air of not caring - with his sloppy costumes - that will have turned off a lot of judges. Like he didn't think he had to put in the effort others do, because he could score so high? That's the air he gave off. His costumes are better this year, thankfully. But honestly, if your a judge, on the fence between Nathan & Hanyu, won't you give the edge to the one who seems to be making more of an effort?
4:50 Jonathan, you are a man after my own heart. I place pomegranate seeds in the bottom of ice-cube trays. I then zest and juice 2 limes, a lemon and an orange. I mix the zest and juice with some carbonated water, and fill the ice-cube trays (with the pomegranate seeds) and freeze. They are super zingy for bringing life to cocktails, or just fizzy water.
Jonathan, I had the same reaction with Shoma’s exhibition program when I watched the first time. Since then I have watched 6 time, it brought up more emotion each time I have watched and make me appreciate the program and his skating skill as I watched more time. That would be my suggestion for you too. Dave, I am too looking forward for a program by Lambiel for Shoma.
@@Yenasa ikr! yaaasssss!! I'm a sucker for stylish costumes in men's skating, that's why it drives me nuts when one of my favorite skaters Nathan, wears shitty shirts!🤣 It's a disgrace for the sport of figure skating!
@@chocolateperfume752 Perhaps Nathan could take a leaf out of Shoma's style book and get some high waisted velvet pants! (I so appreciate Shoma's penchant for velvet)
Happy New Year! I think this is the honey cake Galina talks about: Medovik (Russian: Медовик, from мёд - 'honey') is a layer cake popular in countries of the former Soviet Union. The identifying ingredients are honey and smetana (sour cream) or condensed milk, dessert which is known for its lengthy preparation time.
Chen will have a big advantage in base value if he plans to do a 6 quad layout next season. If he lands his jumps in the SP and FS he will be safe simply because of his BV (but he will get good GOEs and PCS). I don't see Kolyada having a 3 or 4 quad program within a year. He has improved a lot under Mishin but he was still making mistakes at Nationals with a 2-quad program (doubling a Salchow and stepping out of a 3A). Even if he had a 2-quad SP and 3/4-quad FS he would need to skate to them consistently.
Yes & I think that arrogance has come through in the last two years in, "I don't need to care about costumes because my scores are so high". If the scores are close between him, Hanyu & Kolyada, don't you think politics will go for the person they think has tried the hardest in EVERY way?
@@etherealtb6021 Kolyada, Hanyu, and Shoma all have a different flavor of underdog right now, which - who doesn't love a comeback? Chen's position politically is dicier than his BV suggests. Maybe not enough to stop him, but enough to make it tight if they want to. (lol judging this sport really is a joke, isn't it? I've resolved to just enjoy it for what it is.)
Just for clarification, at the Cup of China, Yuzuru was injured but did NOT have a concussion. If he did, he could not have skated at NHK or GPF considering the time it usually takes for anyone to recover from a concussion.
What was the time between the events? My friend had a minor concussion after being hit on the head with a fire door. Within a week and a half he felt like his normal self again.
He still shouldn't have been allowed to skate, judging by the terrifying falls in his free skate. He was still not okay by the time NHK came around. Like, maybe it was the leg and ankle injury but maybe it was also a concussion. I think Jason Brown's rocky start to last season was lingering effects of his concussion. I'm sure he'd been given clearance and all but then a long flight to Japan (and all the noise and sensory overload) would have knocked him around.
@@GG-md2fx He shouldn't have been allowed to skate? For what reason? He was medically examined before he skated. He didn't skate well at NHK because he didn't train much in between the events in order to recover from his injuries.
@@akblades6338 I stand by what I said, even if we could have only known in retrospect. There are big personalities and lots of pressure to deal with. I don't think it's as simple as a paramedic simply saying no or yes when they have a determined patient and their coach/other entourage insisting they compete as well as event organisers, etc. Brain injuries are also a lot more difficult to recover from than a lot of people realise. I don't believe Yuzu's performance at NHK that year was just because of lack of training or a sore ankle. He might have been cleared but how many studies have been done on the effects of knocked heads on performance of figure skaters who are spinning and jumping and competing with huge sensory input from crowds and lights, etc, to inform medics of impacts specific to such patients?
Jonathan, I think that Hanyu skating after the collision (BTW he had no concussion) at the Cup of China and Shcherbakova skating with fever in this pandemic situation at the Russian Nationals are two totally different cases. There was a risk of spreading covid-19 in Shcherbakova's case. I believe that anybody with fever should not have been allowed to enter the venue in the first place.
They were different situations yes. Also Shcherbakova went to Nationals that she could have skipped without any problem while it was the season debut for Hanyu after the Olympic season, he was the reigning GPF winner. Had he WD he wouldn't have qualified to GPF. He is still the only skater who won GPF 4 times in a row.
Anna did not have a fever, that was an invention on the side of yana and her husband, if she had had it or had managed to perform the FS as happened with Samudorova in the tests, who withdrew
I might be wrong but I think it was Eteri’s tale, this thing about pneumonia (read Covid 19, it’s Russia 😉) However I’m heaving extremely hard time believing it. First - it would probably be totally impossible to execute the skate like this, second - Anna performed during exhibition the day after. If she really had been sick, they would most certainly allow her to withdraw from gala skate. I think it was something Eteri and Daniel produced to boost the drama and to partly explain Anna’s withdrawal from Grand Prix Rostelecom earlier
Where is the information about Etri’s veto on Zhenya’s participation in the ice age come from? Averbuh said that Zhenya refused to do ice age since she wanted to compete. Maybe I am too naive, but this makes sense.
No. Averbuch speaking not True. No one from TV not call participate Medvedeva in Ace age. As soon as People from TV knows that Alina never participate together with EM and Etety also Will not agree and Nobody from TV chiefs asked Averbuch's opinion.
Averbuch did not participate in the negotiations.. From the very beginning, the goal of the negotiations was Alina. People from TV understood that Alina would never agree to briadcast together with Medvedeva. Averbuch was simply Informed about that.
@@TheSkatingLesson I don’t know. I read about this too, but it always seemed like rumors. Averbuh said that she was invited as a participant and this would definitely require time commitment.
Totally agreed we need another format for skaters to compete, great suggestion Dave!!! As a fan, would totally prefer going to a star-studded competition with no significant prize than watching the Russian flavour of the season in juniors jumping a quint axel and miming her way through a genocide tribute (with total commitment and emotional understanding etc etc)....
"That looked fun!" " Boy you were there!" made me spit out my cookies! That reminds me of all the bad community theater I've seen and had to speak with people afterward.😆🤣😆🤣😆
I heard some actors recently say they know they've given a bad performance when their friends say something like, "Wow. Good for you", or "Wow. You really put yourself out there"! 🤣
I was very angry when they tried to say that nobody was there for Oksana. Galina tried. Oksana was a rebellious teen & put in a very difficult position for even the most stable and mature adult to be in. It was a perfect storm. Many people tried to help her without expecting anything in return. (like my mom/family). Sometimes, people need to go through certain experiences to learn or grow and I think she is one of those people. I love Galina and I love Oksana.
The most important about this video for me: Kolyada... I hope keep his FP, put new complex jumps, improved and skating clean this FP. Also that Averbuck does new SP, for this season and Olimpic games 2022.
I can't stand tarasova anymore. She always has something to say to bully these skaters. It's time ppl stopped praising her and using "that's just how she is" to justify her actions. She's toxic
Regarding the dance segment of the team event, with Cipres self-destructing, it's unclear to me whether Papadakis/Cizeron would actually compete in the RD when France has no realistic prospect of a medal. They didn't do the team event in Pyeongchang. In which case, the team event RD would be the US and Russia competing for 1-2 and then Gilles/Poirier and Guignard/Fabbri dueling for third and fourth.
I wonder how much Wang/Liu will be pushed politically. Obviously they are no match for Guignard/Fabbri technically but based on their scores at the last four continents and Europeans, plus the home skater political advantage, maybe Wang/Liu would sneak into fourth
For Kolyada's Olympic short , I'd like to see him do something totally different from his Nureev program, but less cheesy than his current SP. Maybe, some rock or metal classic would be perfect (think, his 'Nothing Else Matters' exhibition or Aliev's 'Sound of Silence')
There was a Columbian pro cyclist who got covid twice. He was one of the first(and only)ones to get it when the season paused in February/March, then one of I think 4 to get it from all the riders at all 3 grand tours in October. Guess we'll see with the Russians...
I’m absolutely FOR pro competition!!! Make it official, make it international. Russians, Americans, Canadians, Japanese, Koreans etc. I still prefer the field of 2014-2018 to the one we have now. IN ALL the disciplines!!! Let it be a shorter version of a LP. With all these quads Russian ladies haven’t had their final say. As well as a lot of unique dance pairs who don’t stand a chance against PC. I’d love to see more of them as well as some real competition. I miss the drama of the 2014-2018.
Here's a question no one has answered for me: what if the spin is in the corner in your program & you're doing your program? BTW, there was no "lutz corner" in the late 70's & we were smart & respectful enough to get out of someone's way if we were doing a spin & someone was coming at us with a jump! Jumps win! 🤣
@@etherealtb6021 programs always have the right of way so if you have a spin in the lutz corner in your program, those lutzes need to wait! Haha that’s why the colored vests and belts are handy so people know it’s your program. I know some rinks limit the amount of times you can do your program though because it wouldn’t be fair if someone had the right of way the whole session 😂
@@TheSkatingLesson I think it is kind of set up that way in the movie. But in reality it wasn't quite a simple either/or between them. Nureyev danced the Prince Desire in Sleeping Beauty during dress rehearsal in Paris, but another dancer premiered it. Polunin is the taller blonde guy, in white dancing while the "dance is story" dialogue is going on.
Just a suggestion can you put a time stamp whenever you change of subject, skater because I'm not interested in every skater so I would love to be able to just go to the part that interests me ☺️
Typically, fans post time stamps once we post the videos. They are usually up within an hour. It isn't possible to post the videos so quickly and do time stamps. It is an either/or.
sayyyy what? Listening to Piano Concerto No.2 while playing Ticket to Ride? It's like we can be best buds! As a classical musician, Jonathan's Martha Argerich comment made my soul sing. hahaha
I pretty much agree on medvedeva. I think her body just no longer can handle this, if it's true that she has quite a few and even serious injuries she should retire. I feel like she's just dragging herself, trying to cling onto this "I'm a fighter😒" nickname that everyone's calling her rn, especially her biggest supporter tarasova. She has accomplished quite a lot, has made a big name for herself and has a huge following. So many doors r open for her, just like alina she should pursue other things in life
Alina won the olympics. Zhenya didn’t and it was her time, she will never get past this and will do everything to get another chance for 2022 even if this means breaking herself. This girl doesn’t give up because she *is* a fighter for nature, not because people call her so.
@@anneramones2923 Whaaaaaat? Medvedeva at Olimpic???? What are you smoking? She is obviosly not a fighter and never was. No one in Mother Russia call EM fighter.
@@anneramones2923 alina was better and that's why she won, that's it. The one who's better prepared got to win, it wasn't "zhenya's time" or whatever. Like I said she's apparently trying to cling onto that nickname and I just can't help but finding it cringe. There's a difference between giving up and knowing when u just can't do it anymore. It's getting awkward and even sad whenever there's a competition and she withdraws followed by one of her "excuses"
As much as I love Evgenia I have to agree. At this point your risking life long injuries for a gold medal your sadly probably not going to get anyway at this point. Its better to make money doing shows while your able to skate then to break your body to the point where you can't skate at all. Of course Evgenia is an adult, but I think someone needs to have a serious talk with her. I have a bad feeling about her situation.

Will be interesting to see how the politics play out for Kolyada! Will it matter that Raf is Russian at all (as in, would they go easier on Nathan because of that?)
OMG, let him skate one clean SP + FS with quad toes first! He’s done that only once in 2016. Also, he never landed 3 quads in FS. The way this fandom never learns.
@@SamKreinberg seriously. A nice long program doesn’t suddenly make him a contender for Olympic gold. With only ONE quad, he has still made errors in SP/FS. Add in 2 more types of quads, greater pressure/competition... nothing in his current or past history suggests that he can pull this off. It’s only a lot of wishful thinking from these two, and Mishin is just a good coach and not a magician.
So is the ISU really going to wait until Jan.28 for a decision on worlds? I believe that is their next scheduled ‘meeting’ but correct me if I am wrong! ⛸
Alina's Averbukh exhibition is lovely, and I'm glad her career outside of competing is thriving... But man, is her skating rough 👀 🤐 Don't get me wrong, the performance, emotions, interpretation aspects are fine to me, but her skating skills seem to be regressing and regressing. I know she doesn't spend as much time on training as she used to, but even Sotnikova's skating didn't get as unpleasant to watch after the Olympics. Hopefully with more time she'll focus on improving her SS, if she's about to continue performing exhibitons.
I don't think they want to, or care enough about skating skills. And honestly, why would they? It doesn't matter anymore since she won't compete, so it's just for show. It's obvious that these exhibition programmes arent something she's too invested in. She has other priorities now
@@deryan3364 I really enjoyed Alina's Black Swan, and although her skating skills weren't great, she was at least promising, there was something to her skating that felt beautiful, but it definitely needed work and polish, I truly hoped she'd progress in the future, but well, one can dream lol
@@chocolateperfume752 Last year "officially" she got paid over $100k for appearing in a few of Navka's ice shows, I think besides her TV career she's going to perform, as it brings a lot of money, but I guess neither Alina or the audience care about the quality of her skating
@@hannibaljustincase9985 yeah, like I said no one really cares for that now, since its not a competition. And I totally agree with u on your second comment. If they just kept working and training she would've been one of the best, but this is how it turned out. Don't get me wrong, I'm pleased that she's happy and pursuing other things in life, of course no longer under that enormous mental pressure and loads of training, but for her fans and the ppl who enjoyed her skating it's sad
56:10 Lambiel choreographed only once for Takahashi, it was Amelie for his exhibition but it was 10 years ago! :))) yes I was exactly thinking how could you forget it Dave?! =))))
he's out of the limelight due to US not holding real competitions this year. no time to gain moment, no time to build hype, too much time for someone else to swoop in and steal his thunder. not his fault but is what it is.
I just don't like running into anyone because it freaks me out and messes with my confidence, regardless of who's fault it is. I do feel annoyed when someone is in the way because they aren't following the rules or paying attention (especially if they do it chronically). I feel guilty when occasionally I get in the way because I wasn't paying close enough attention, but we can't be perfectly paying attention 100% of the time, so you just do your best. I kinda agree with Gallina and that if they get hit enough, they might learn. But if that girl only moved 2 feet and is with a coach, it sounds like neither she nor her coach care about rules or courtesy to other skaters. We have ONE coach like that and she trains all of her students to be like that. They don't give way to anyone and act like it's always the other person's fault if someone gets in the way of any element they do. I started running over them in "retaliation" and some of those students did improve when they got a taste of their own medicine. But a couple did not. There's no intimidating them into being more considerate. They'll act like a diva that owns the ice no matter what. But I 100% blame the coach for creating the situation.
i loved zagitovas new exhibition by averbukh, it was refreshing to see something new and different then the same old danny g choreo, but some of the moves in the program (especially the spirals) really didn’t suit her, it’s a shame that they don’t work on the skating skills with her because it would’ve been a much more enjoyable watch, but then again why would they because she obviously won’t be competing again
I think the fact her response was "why me" is why it became a joke....who responds like that?! She would prefer someone else be hit if someone is going to be hit?? It was just an odd response I think and that's why I believe it became a "joke". Though it's not right to joke about it either way; she did not deserve to be hit like that.
If you watch the actual footage and not the comedy afterward, what Nancy actually said is "Why?" Nancy said in an interview a couple of years ago that she still thinks it's a good question, and I agree. What Nancy said makes it more clear that even in terrible stress, she didn't wish that attack on anyone else. And it's a good question: why would any sane person think that "taking out" the competition is a pathway to success?
@@carlairis3889 I remember the news clips and I thought she was saying why me in those clips. It’s possible that with the years of comedy clips my memory is failing me and I’m merging the two. Just saying “why” is definitely a more human response. Still not the one I would expect to hear but much more understandable. I’ll look for the actual footage again later as now I’m curious...memory is a really fragile thing 🙂 I mean when I got hit on the ice and my leg sliced my response was to stop speaking German and only cry how much pain I was in (in English) and Katerina Witt was so kind and taking care of me til the doctor came 😅 And by doctor I mean my coach who was grabbing his supply kit (he was a proper doctor too lol) You don’t know how you will react in a situation like that but it is interesting to look at. Thanks responding; I’ll look at Nancy’s footage again 😁
Zagitova is nice and seems like a kind girl but she is plain compared to Medvedeva. Med has charisma and a more interesting personality. I can see why she'd be more popular in shows than Zagitova.
WHAT!?? Who tell you that? Of cource Alina more popular at show more that Medvedeva and get more money for that. What kind of Medvedeva charisma you are talking about? Why no sponsors for Medvedeva charisma? You can tell that story about charisma for People from Shiseido and Puma. This is Will be very fan for them.
They're quite different. Alina is kinda awkward, keeps more to herself and introverted, or at least that's how we see her, who knows maybe in her circle of ppl she's more comfortable and "interesting"? while zhenya is more relaxed, outgoing and pretty much always speaks her mind. I remember how fast she gained popularity and was loved by russia in a short period of time when her career kicked off
@@chocolateperfume752 Yes, they're different, Alina is definitely more introverted that also shows on the ice. When I watch their skating Medvedeva always looks more interesting to me. Even when I saw them in person I liked Medvedeva better than Zagitova. But I can see why many say Zagitova is nicer. She is also perfect for big sponsorships like Shiseido because she has the classical beauty and she is reserved which is a plus for a Japanese company.
It’s pretty weird if Alina doesn’t have the charisma and interest, then why was she chosen presenter of the year and female athlete of the year in Russia.
Re Kolyada, unfortunately he doesn’t have enough clean difficult quads to make him close to Nathan or Hanyu. He hasn’t landed the quad lutz consistently. For some strange reason, it looks like he was over jumping and could hot check his landing. It’s going to be Nathan vs Yuzuru at the Olympics. Nathan has been very consistent the past couple of seasons beating everyone including 2 time Olympic champ Yuzuru with updated 4 clean quads.jumps. No to Shoma - his jumps are small and cheated. Sure, he looks artistic but not enough technical content jump consistency to get close to Nathan.
Sorry but when Nancy shows her true side (even once but it was more than just once honestly), we all believed it. LOL Especially when the media chose their villain (Tonya), Nancy was never an angel in her own right!!!
Dave, it is true that the young skaters have an entitled attitude and act as if they own the rice by continuing their moves/jumps regardless of who was there first and expect the adult skater to move out of the way. They are oblivious to ice etiquette. Eventually, they will learn that life does not revolved around them.
Yes, you are right but even if she said "why me," what's the big bloody deal with that? She just had her knee taken out, like she could cry out whatever the bloody hell she wanted to.
@@SamKreinberg because they dont have an incentive- also they wouldnt have to be in peak form because the nature of it is less athletically intense than the amateur circuit. Also, a lot of these skaters still do ice shows and stuff, so it's a definite possibility.
So Tarasova pushed Medvedeva to anorexia.. much better than sending someone have babies. She was also mocking Konstantinova on TV for being too heavy this year. Every time she loves someone it ends like that.
@BennetGirl this story might have been made up (too probable not to be true), but mocking Konstantinova and telling stories about Radionova on air certainly were not.

Agree with the Nancy comments. That was a brutal attack, I don’t care if the perpetrators got like 5 minutes in prison that was a very serious violation that she suffered and it’s available to watch so inevitably people will make it a meme. I think Hanyu felt that skating with a fever endangered others/put others at risk vs skating with a concussion is endangering yourself.
He didnt even have a concussion. Skating with a fever definitely put many people at risk of COVID!
Thanks for sharing! I will need her to give me a slice!!!
That sounds devine.

Shoma's exhibition program is gorgeous, so is his look. He's always had stylish costumes
Yes! Mathieu is amazing.
TSL Sundays were a silver lining for us in 2020! Thanks guys, Happy 😊 New Year
Happy new year!
Nemesis was a fav of mine, I'd also consider it a standout!
Love the kolyada exhibition! Thanks for mentioning it! Otherwise I probably would have missed it
4:50 Jonathan, you are a man after my own heart.
Sounds great!

Jonathan, I had the same reaction with Shoma’s exhibition program when I watched the first time. Since then I have watched 6 time, it brought up more emotion each time I have watched and make me appreciate the program and his skating skill as I watched more time. That would be my suggestion for you too.

Happy new year! Thank you!!!!!!!
I think we will see Kolyada plan 3-4 quads later this season. He was planning it after Rostelecom before he got sick.
@@TheSkatingLesson We'll see. He needs to land those jumps consistently.
@@susmus5034 tbh he only needs to land them all once but he'd have to make it count lol
Was really looking foward to this! Hope you are both safe and wel.
You too!
@@helenaprout1061 CoC was between 7-9 Nov., NHK 28-30 Nov. It was never confirmed he had a concussion. He probably didn't have one

@@KoraimaLynn didn’t eteri claim she had a fever? I might be wrong
There were several articles about this earlier this year. The way the show was filmed, she would have been able to participate.

She's toxic
Many people don’t realize that majority of what Eteri does she learned from Tarasova.
@I M she actually briefly coached her in 1990
@I M Eteri was once an ice dancer trained by Tarasova
@BennetGirl same...she disgusts me, especially her constantly trashing female skaters
Totally agree. What also needs to be said is that Tarasova is a big dino with apparently no responsibility at all for her own weight and form.
Lambiel did the short program for Kolyada two years ago I think
The music for Shoma's oboe program is by Vivaldi. I've been listening to Baroque composers for the past few years because modern pop is so dire.

Last year he did the program with the Wind of change of Scorpions, but they switched it just before competitions
There was a Columbian pro cyclist who got covid twice. He was one of the first(and only)ones to get it when the season paused in February/March, then one of I think 4 to get it from all the riders at all 3 grand tours in October. Guess we'll see with the Russians...

Why were they spinning in the lutz corner?!?! Spins go in the middle or non-lutz corners 😂
Great question!
Here's a question no one has answered for me: what if the spin is in the corner in your program & you're doing your program?
BTW, there was no "lutz corner" in the late 70's & we were smart & respectful enough to get out of someone's way if we were doing a spin & someone was coming at us with a jump! Jumps win! 🤣

Hopefully with more time she'll focus on improving her SS, if she's about to continue performing exhibitons.
I adore Alina but her skating skills are getting worse and worse. That exhibition program doesn't look like it belongs to an Olympic Champion :(
I don't think they want to, or care enough about skating skills. And honestly, why would they? It doesn't matter anymore since she won't compete, so it's just for show. It's obvious that these exhibition programmes arent something she's too invested in. She has other priorities now

@@TheSkatingLesson well, me either. But by comparison, they were better. Lol.

If you watch the actual footage and not the comedy afterward, what Nancy actually said is "Why?" Nancy said in an interview a couple of years ago that she still thinks it's a good question, and I agree.
Do you like arrogant people?
Where can I find the clip of Kolyada jumping the quad lutz and salchow?
In the description box above!
@@TheSkatingLesson It's not there dave. The Mikhail Kolyada txt is there but the actual link isn't
If Medvedeva did have Covid, I hope that the Russian team doctor is watching out for any heart problems.
For all of the athletes who had covid, though I don't trust Eteri's doctor.
Is it a common and serious complication after covid?
Zagitova has a boyfriend?? Has anyone else heard this?!
Yeah the rumors about her dating have been out for quite some time now
Zagitova fake champion. (One- time)
Yeah daniil g.
@@АйнурТилекбаева ??? Were you paid to comment this everywhere?
Sorry but when Nancy shows her true side (even once but it was more than just once honestly), we all believed it. LOL Especially when the media chose their villain (Tonya), Nancy was never an angel in her own right!!!
Dave, it is true that the young skaters have an entitled attitude and act as if they own the rice by continuing their moves/jumps regardless of who was there first and expect the adult skater to move out of the way. They are oblivious to ice etiquette. Eventually, they will learn that life does not revolved around them.
I was mean. I didn't move for them. I'm bigger than them. Lol.
For the love of all that is zen: it’s SWEY and Han. Swee doesn’t exist in Chinese. You both have such excellent ears, you can do it! 💪
Nancy NEVER said "WHY ME"....She said "WHY??"
Yes, you are right but even if she said "why me," what's the big bloody deal with that? She just had her knee taken out, like she could cry out whatever the bloody hell she wanted to.
Guys, it's TONYA with an "o", not Tanya with an "a"...you should know better!!
I didn't write her name... I know how to spell Tonya Harding :)
Pro competitions is not going to happen. Russia interested in sport, not the fluff nonsense international fandom wants.
The thing is, if they established a pro circuit, it would make SERIOUS cash. I doubt RusFed would turn that down.
@@helenaprout1061 majority of skaters people think are gonna compete are not only not popular but also out of shape.
Medvedeva is not anorexic. Her thinness is a consequence of a sore back and covid.
@BennetGirl this story might have been made up (too probable not to be true), but mocking Konstantinova and telling stories about Radionova on air certainly were not.
@@olgasmirnova4588 her “sore back” and “covid” cropped up the month after test skates, when she was already emaciated.

Lol, why should Misha replace his SP with his Ex, when his Ex is basically a shorter version of his long program, only with different music playing.
Because his current SP is not the SP of a champion
@@TheSkatingLesson Oh don't get me wrong, I hate the style of his SP with a passion, but it wouldn't give off the 'vibe of a champion' if he recycled his LP in his SP (when he's already recycling his step sequence) and skated two such similar programs in one competition.

"How is SImone going to have her Olympics?" How is CHELSIE going to have her Olympics??
To be fair, Chellsie is injured every other month. We cannot invest fully until podium training.

Unpopular opinion: Lang Lang is not that good (and ruined the Goldberg). Agreed with Martha (addicted to her) although she doesn't much play Rach, and I dont think she did 2!
Amending this in light of the fact that you two roast the world so I can take liberties 🤣🤣🤣 ... Lang Lang is literally the worst!
Lang Lang makes a race out of playing the piano. He thinks the faster the better. He is totally wrong. Martha on the other hand is wonderful.
@@susmus5034 totally totally agreed!
Bless skating fans
@@TheSkatingLesson thanks for the blessing..?
I don't find Medvedeva interesting to watch at all.
Agree with the Nancy comments. That was a brutal attack, I don’t care if the perpetrators got like 5 minutes in prison that was a very serious violation that she suffered and it’s available to watch so inevitably people will make it a meme. But yes thankfully she recovered and is ok and it can be funny. I don’t think she was being dramatic I think she was assaulted in a way that was designed to take away her talent, which makes it so much more heinous and is obviously something the judges that sentenced those thugs didn’t consider. Everyone involved in that crime is apparently doing just great now. 🤷🏻♂️Not ok with me though.
Zagitova distances from Danny G? After all these years? She doesn't want to be his "muse" anymore?
Well everyone has their own lives. They're still friends
Well she's not competing anymore so not so close as before 🤷🏻♀️
You guys are wrong! Alina continues training in Khrustalny with her coaches every day. She is in close friendly contact with them.
@@firdavsjigit Well, it's not about coaching. They suggested something else about Zagitova and him two weeks ago and now, this...
@@firdavsjigit Danny G is currently swanning around in Dubai...
Nancy's "bad" attitude made me like her more back then. Given that she was primarily known for being a victim and not for her talent.
She had an incredible triple lutz! And a great triple toe. In general, her jumping mechanics were textbook.
Only for casual fans! Skating fans had followed her talent for YEARS before. We never doubted her talent, but her ability to compete.
No spinning in the lutz corner!! lol
I did enjoy Anderson and Andy but I agree they need Kathy. Whatever drama they have should be over, I was hoping they would have her on. Instead they had Carole Baskin🤮
Good. I wait for love from you 💝💖
