I’ll never get over the looks of sheer shock and fear on the faces of all these top tiers when Luffy unintentionally let his Haki fly. Their realization that there was just as big of a threat as Ace was just running around free on the battlefield… Not to mention the insane scale and power of his Haki to knock out so many high level marines. Aokiji and Sengoku’s faces say it best. One of my absolute favorite scenes in all of One Piece
They werent shocked or fearful bro. They just assumed Luffy to be some weakling and it was surprising that he had conqueror's. All the top tiers like the Admirals and Sengoku could one shot Luffy at this point. They werent scared of him at all

They were not scared in the slightest. Any one of the admirals or vice admirals even could probably take fluffy out with minimal difficulty here. It was more the implications of what could happen should he be allowed to live

Akainu was also very clearly shocked in how he reacted and how he says Luffy should be taken care of before he becomes too much of a problem. They were also very clearly fearful of the potential. No one is implying they thought Luffy could take out any one of them, but thats not at all what it is about. They expected him to be a small fry and he suddenly showed his immense potential so they immediately realized they had massively underestimated him.
I wouldn't say scared is the right word. I think "alarmed" is far more appropriate. They weren't afraid, because that would imply he was a threat at that time, and he wasn't. But they realized that Luffy was a much more significant potential threat down the line than they thought, and realized he needed to be stopped as soon as possible. Shocked definitely fits though. After all, we know that there are more people with Conquer's Haki down the line, but it's a very rare and powerful ability that's usually only present in people who have the potential to change the world.

Ace's situation actually really is a lot like Robin's! He went his whole life hearing people curse his very existence just like her, to the point where it made them not even value their own lives anymore. And just like Robin, once he sees all the people who love and support him come to rescue him, it makes him regain his will to live!

What matters isn’t the side you fight on, but the justice you fight for.

These 2 episodes were nail bitting episodes. First we have everything that can go wrong. Whitebeard is hit by Akainu, Marco takes a hit from Kizuru and Jozu gets iced by Akoiji. You get to a point of not asking what else can go wrong. And then we get to watch Luffy flex his Haki power unknowingly. The goosebumps I had watching this was real man.
Conquerors is like 1 in a million or rarer. While everyone has the potential to learn observation and Armament haki, you must naturally be born with the willpower to unleash Conquerors haki. This is further reinforced when we do later on see even a child who doesn't even know haki exists use conquerors on accident. Note the haki types are also called Colors. Color of armament, Color of observation, and Color of the Supreme king.

You got to look at it in this perspective, Garp is like a police chief, and his two grandson's joined a gang in which they do what they want around the city. Even though he would like to side with his family, he know if he did it would effect those in the city, if the police chief sided with two gang members over the people. Coby situation is more like he wants to do something because hes been cowering in fear this whole time, he probably thinks the Navy is doing the right thing. Which brings me to my secound point, their is really no good verses evil in this situation, its really a fight between law and chaos, with the Navy representing the Law and restrictions in place to keep the populace safe, and the Pirates representing chaos and the Freedom too do what you want to do. If the Pirates win, Evil Pirates will go around terrorizing the populace in celebration of white beards victory, while if the Navy Wins the world goverment will continue doing the evil stuff their doing. Even though both sides in this war think their doing something right, their is evil on both sides.

I just want to preface Jack that if the other strawhats were here all of them but Zoro, Sanji and Luffy would almost 100% be dead. There are no foot soldiers there in the Marine line up all of them are officers with the lowest ranking marine being an Ensign (about 5th or 6th away from Fleet admiral) Also the Marines aren't the bad guys. They are a different part of the WG that work separately from them. They are just the police executing a pirate, in-world they are the good guys. They just seem evil because the main character (and the person who the audience sees the world through) is a pirate, yes there are a few corrupt marines, but as a whole the marines are the good guys.
jack, you have to realize that the navy aren't the bad guys. yes, akainu, sengoku, they're terrible people. but the average navy soldier just wants to protect the world from pirates and terrorists. the people that luffy broke out of impel down? the majority were, murderers, rapists, serial killers. the world government is evil. the navy is just the military. and in this moment, as far as the world and the common soldier are concerned, they are executing an infamous criminal and the son of the most violent, warmongering, terrifying man in history. coby is not on the "wrong side". there is no wrong side in a world like this except the world government and celestial dragons.
