I had bought the same cutter early on into my locksmith career and had nothing but problems. Im glad that you were able to get it to work for you.
It’s not easy. But it taught me about key cutting. How to understand the tolerances. The machine definitely requires user input in regards to pressures applied. It’s quite flexible considering what it’s doing. But you get what you pay for.
Hi Andrew, I’ve had the same DEFU key cutter for a few months now, mine doesn’t have the nuts between the key holder and the holder wing nuts.
Great how to vid thanks.
It sucks that you've had soo much greif with your key cutter.
I had the same issue with the light bulb, but other thatn that my machine has worked flawlessly.
Keep up the good work!
ahhhh it’s not too bad. I do want to fix the right side handle tho.
You can use the plastic wing nut on the clamps by simply removing the two silver nuts and just use the plastic wing nuts by themselves. Great tip about earthing the machine I bought a horizontal key cutting machine it wasn’t earthed either In china they must use two wires and don’t know what the third earth wire is for.
Cheers Pete
The 368A DEFU machine clone cost around $65 in asia.
You should open up a backyard BMW dealership
N54 specialist!
I replaced the cable with a 2 core plus earth and drilled a hole and earthing point into the body with a nut and bolt. I also changed the fuse in the plug to 3 amp. Took about 10 minutes.
Strictly speaking, the body is painted and is unlikely to conduct electricity (much like metal consumer units), but personally I prefer to drill/scrape off the paint to bare metal and earth all housings anyway.
The nuts are needed to make the vice close fully. Two washers can also be used but you can also loosen the nut slightly, push the vice fully close or turn the treaded rod to close the vice and hand tight the nut. Screw the plastic wing nut until it touches the silver nut. Now use a wrench and turn the silver nut counter clockwise to lock itself to the plastic nut. Problem solved.
You guys really do seem to turn your hand to anything car related and often succeed, well done 👏🏻
Theres always a learning curve but generally get there in the end.
@@ZeroTo60Tube yes very true buddy. We succeed at d end
Love your work! 💪😄
Thank you 🙌
You need to take those nuts off under the wingnuts ,they are just there during shipping so the jaws don't fall off. Take them off and use only the wingnuts ,should have some bearing washers that go between the wingnuts and jaws but if you don't have them a regular flat washer will do.
You can get the clamps to work properly by removing the nuts and just use the plastic wing nuts this is how I got mine to work
You are suppose to remove the two nuts before screwing the the thumb handles on
I thought i was good at playing on cars, motorbikes and chainsaws 😆 but these dudes are frearless at giving anything a crack.
They'll do some vet dental work soon nothing is a problem 😆
“Hey King, let me check those chompers”
You need to remove the nut .totally its only there for shipping purposes 😅.. notice the butterfly locking key has threads.. .. it happened to me also so no worries just remove the nuts total.. 😉
I looked them up, they only come 110 more commonly nowadays 120 volts. At least here in the States.
Try put some glue in in the thread hole of the tap at 3:12 and put it on and let it dry
I JUST BOUGHT ONE OF THOSE. THERES NO EARTH WIRE AT THE PLUG .SO I SUGGEST A TOTALLY NEW POWER CABLE BE FITTED. DO YOU AGREE. ARE THEY FRIENDS WITH B GATES ?.
Pues quita las tuercas no seas penitente , entonces lo caro es bueno para ti o funcional o sencillo ?
Hi m8 love the videos. How do u earth the machine I have same. Any information greatly appreciated
Tbh normally just metal case to the earth pin on wall socket. However I never bothered
Hi just cut me first va2 blade with this machine. I cut too deep and made a whole in one spot 🙈. I watched a few vids and set the drill and follow exactly the same. How could be?
I found you need to allow for twist in the machine. You have to learn where and how to apply pressure. Also setting the base point for the cutting bit is cruicial.
Great video 👍 what is the name of the triangular tool you used to check if the keys were level in the clamps?
Let me check
An option is an option, making money is money, crumbs make a cake, ty for sharing & posting, got me to subscribe 😉 🙏✝️
Great video wish you did a closer view
Very good job
Can this cut regular keys too?
Can I just ask cause it’s been 2 yrs. All in all what do you think now about this machine?
Excellent to learn on, rubbish to use in a commercial enviroment. However learning to cut perfect keys with it was a great experience to understand locks in general.
@@ZeroTo60Tube appreciate you, just received mines today and looking forward to using it. Love the videos, thank you…
Did it like a Boss mate .. !!
Complete remove your two black plastic wing nuts then remove the nuts that sit behind them… make sure to leave the washers and now reinstall your two plastic wing nuts. God only knows why they put the extra nuts on there, but all’s they do is mess things up. Hope this helps
Are you sure you're a mechanic? you've got the cleanest hands I've ever seen on a mechanic if you are.Just sayin.
So>>>>did it work the ignition????
you dont use the key blade in the iginition, but the coding i had done previous worked.
Hi great video. Can you cut a emergency door key if your is missing can they cut one using the existing barrel and key fob? I'm taking about a previously Cat S vehicle UK that usually has stuff like this missing
If you have a lishi you can decode the barrel and cut with a CNC key cutter. But with these tools you can only trace an existing key.
@@ZeroTo60Tube I only have 1 keyfob but when you take out that blade key from the fob it's blank with no cut. Was wondering if I could get it cut etc to fit the barrel if I produced proof of ownership etc
@@lifeclip9878bro just goto a locksmith that will cut to code
You can get the key numbers and IMMOBILISER code off the main dealer. Must have logbook and maybe 2 forms of ID. LICENCE WITH PHOTO. AS THEY TAKE A PHOTOCOPY of it. Most main dealers charge £25 -- 40. FOR NEWER CARS. IF THEY CUT AND PROGRAMME THE KEY FOR YOU . WOW 200 -- UPWARDS. THATS WHY THERE CALLED MAIN STEALERS.
How many keys did you ruin before getting one that worked
I havent had a failure with this yet. However it takes me a long time.
Hello, I also have the same machine when I bought it I tried it but unfortunately the two new keys open the car doors but not the engine,Any advice?
Hi Some cars have a different key for the doors to the ignition. The ignition is normally a master key and will do everything, but sometimes a door key will do a door but not the ignition. There are basically more pins in the ignition. So it can be more difficult to get the key right to work the ignition. If you key turns the ignition, but car doesnt start, its probably immobiliser related.
@@ZeroTo60Tube but original key open doors as well as ignition.
@@AnzarAnzar then you didnt make the correctly. There will be more pins in the ignition, so the part of the key that isnt quite right probably doesnt matter for the door lock with less pins...... probably.
Buy a suitable key programmer for your vehicle....
Because the key needs the transponder programmed. The immobilized needs to be programmed with key, you’ll need a key programmer. Are you saying the engine doesn’t start or doesn’t turn the lock?
some loctite and a nord lock should keep that handle on
220V is not the Aussie voltage, it's the chinese voltage.
Yours should be more like 240V, most likely closer to 250V
Where did you get that info from?
@@ZeroTo60Tube China has always been 220V I think. Here in NZ we're the same as AU. The voltage where I am fluctuates between 235V and 245V
electricalconnection.com.au/when-voltage-varies
Aussie is 230V +10%, -6%, so 216V to 252V
As60038 sets out nominal lv grid voltage as 230 +10/-6 %. It’s often late 40’s
@@martinr1834 yea pretty much but we have this thing called the sun, so we see a little more fluctuation due to solar grid ties.
18:19 - "That was a bad joke."
Immediately makes another bad joke.
(I'm fairly certain that he was aware of the keyhole never being used bit)
Great work, I had a key cutter cut me a new key for my bmw from a Chinese copy and he reckons the steel was so hard he broke 3 bits cutting it!
The China keys must be hit miss, like most things from there I guess
I don't think that is a real fault of the machine. I purchased a small CNC which is similar to this key machine. It doesn't handle steel at all, aluminium is the hardest thing people cut with them.
For steel you need a large heavy machine with fairly strong build, when doing any kind of routing.
Great job guys! The channel is growing fast! Thanks for sharing, Nico.
Take the nuts of the jaw screws and put the thumb screw on and will tighten properly. I don't know why those nuts are on there.
To hold the vise clamps in place during transit, then they are not needed
You should take the nut off to put the handle on that's why you can't get it on . That what I have seen on a video .
Why don’t you become a barber as well when cutting keys at home
hi how are you you have it looks with job me Bangladesh my from Bangladesh may 27 years experience
And now you can provide key cutting service! haha.
👌
Hand in the most of the time could not see what you were doing. Otherwise o.k. video
I'm not trying to put you down ,just trying to learn. How to do it. Thanks!
I don't understand anything you say
I’m sorry what?
Xhorse 007 is better
Slightly more expensive.
@@ZeroTo60Tube 550euro,but it worth it. Belive me.
@@ZeroTo60Tube slightly my ass 😄😄😅 . It's almost 700 usd for the xp007 and the Chinese one is 150 usd .. but the xp007 it's alot smoother . But this Chinese thing cut just as good .. so if you have this one no need to get the xp007 .
Looks like junk.
Stop Complaining guy take it back and get a $10,000 mechanic sheesh ok it's not for you get one for you or you can make one yourself smh 🤦 people
Lol..... heavens forbid an honest review.
Oh my lord.... That earth!!!
@@martinr1834 scary stuff!
I honestly think because the product will work as it is and they will save a few cents on each one by not connected it. Not just the cost of the connector but the extra 5 seconds it takes to connect on the production line. If they are making 1000 of them per run it makes sense in a world of zero efs to cheap out
@@ZeroTo60Tube I was a manager in Meatworks, I get that totally. Meat and electricity though 🤣🤣
Hey guys awesome job on the vids. I have a m135i which only came with one key. Can you let me know how u found the spare and programmed it please.
