Even if you escape to HK from Cavite, by the time you reach HK, you would also experience a typhoon heading that way. So, yeah, overall, a not so good time to travel at all around Asia. All the best still, hoping you find your much needed alternatives for Story's birthday.

Well my dear jamayel, Sacha & Story you don't need to be sad or depressed if incase you are unable to travel to Hong Kong. Life is precious there will be plenty of opportunities for your traveling.
There are good times, and there are bad times. The good thing is there are alot more good times than the bad ones. Sometimes, people need to exercise the ability to deal with difficult situatuons. Keep safe you guys.
Wow... I lived here in the Philippines most of my life. And even I with all the maybe 40 typhoons I have personally been through now, have not had the bad luck y'all have experienced with Odette and then now with Kristine. We sat through most of them unscathed. Except this last August when the waters did enter the house and damaged our furniture. But we never had any windows break or anything. It is unfortunately, a feature we have to live with here in the Philippines. On the other hand, you've all been very blessed with everything else. Finding the right island to live in with Siargao. Finding all the right people to be friends with... Finding all the good food. Finding a wonderfuly doggie... I guess it's just that, eh? Life is not perfect for even anyone whose life seemingly looks perfect. Do take care and stay dry!
The overall experience about the rain/storm, trips, Story's birthday, wanting to escape the storm, the hassle of paper works, I can almost feel how exhausting this is for you. Which is why I feel your urge of really exiting the country, and to also protect the family, and at the same time enjoy Story's birthday. As you've mentioned, it might be a good thing if the flight is cancelled, for you not to feel stressed by taking care of the whole passport situation, and for you to have the time to asses everything again, as you and Sasha do always. Stay safe out there! Praying for your safest travels. 🙏
Same with you, i am having anxiety problem everytime theres typhoon esp. with strong wind. I'll be praying for you to heal your PTSD u got from typhoon Odette... GOD bless and stay safe and healthy!
We live in Isabela. The typhoon came straight over us. Was quite intense, but not quite as bad as I thought it would be. We had one big tree knocked down in the garden and that was it. Lots of rain, but that was manageable. Overall, I think we were quite lucky compared to what I am seeing on TV/Internet. Just hope this next one which is a week or so away doesn't hit us too. Take care.
We are trying to help our people a couple states away from us here in the US… Appalachians were hit HARD by a inland Hurricane category 5/4 hitting landfall and rarely does it come up in the mountains like that it’s on UA-cam it was so bad it closed the Appalachian trail … devastating! Wishing you guys all the luck with weather properties and travel!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Its Friday morning, no more rain and I saw the sun peep through the clouds. Hopefully everything's gonna be fine. Lets all stay positive. 👍 Stay safe guys, you'll be in HongKong soon. Praying that Kristine will not follow you there. 🙏
It's evident you remained traumatised fro your experience of Odette. The only thing you can take comfort from if at all is you are with your extended family in Cavite even though is quite badly hit too. Wish you all the best. Take care.
Well you should know by now after being there for over 4 years it appears that you are more interested in Story's birthday that making sure the family are safe and secure.Just think all the other people who are trying to stay alive and protecting there properties as best as they can. Just think what it would have been like if you had built that house in the middle of nowhere just think of that and stop being selfish. If you cannot accept that way of life then best you leave and find a palace of your dreams.
Kristine is benign compared to other typhoons in the past, the past typhoons were really strong they really broke trees and some people died, this kind of typhoon carries a lot of rain for several days that makes life boring because you can't get out. The country is in the tropics and has many volcanoes, expect torrential rains and earthquakes, it is what it is
Kristine may not have done much damage but its the greedy people who have managed to make money from mining and illegal logging that have caused big damage to the Philippines. May God enlighten the people who vote the same greedy politicians and their cohorts into power everytime.
