Hello Thomas, I am never sure if you read my comments. Anyway, I follow about 60 vloggers now, who cover my favourite subject the Great Outdoors and my passion for Landscape Photography, which came from doing and completing 25 Long Distance Footpaths. So, I just wanted to say a big thank you, because you are my first to go to when I eagerly watch for your next vlog. Like you and many other vloggers, I learn from your thought processes and experiences, so when I go out and things go wrong! Well, I say to myself, that they can also go wrong for the experts. Which gives me the confidence in myself to carry-on! I still remember that fantastic day in the City of Belfast when I met you, your wife and your dog! And a van which at that time had not received its conversion. So on behalf of myself and others' thank you for what you do. And perhaps, one day, I shall get on a workshop with you...
Did that hike in 2007. Had a fabulous time, but lost my filter pouch (with filters) somewhere along the way. Two days later I'm telling this sad tale to my B&B hosts, and amazingly the people they hosted the previous night mentioned finding said filter pouch on the hike! They also mentioned where they were staying next, so I was able to find them and get my filters back.
I think you should have the same approach with the trees composition that you had with the sea weed one. If the big picture does not tickle your fancy search for the small one. A close focusing pic of a side-lit tree bark full of moss with the odd flower for color...letting everything else dissappear in an out-of-focus coloured blob.
Having the fly open is an old hiker trick, I do it all the time when I'm out and about on long distance or multi day hikes. The trick is to remember to put the fly up when you hit civilization again..!
What a great bunch of people. I like these kind of videos your a lucky dude with friends like that would love a day out with Adam and Grumpy. And Nick well lol. Saying that to get some shoot time with you would be a good start. I can dream hahaha nice one Tom
I think both images are beautiful. I I was eagerly awaiting your hiking tip thinking perhaps it was something a senior woman could use.......Hmmm maybe not LOL. I think John B's comment below this one hit the nail on the head, I love it LOL
Aww I love it when you guys get together, brilliant to see you all. Did you ever decide on the name for your group? Love the images you've captured Tom, thank you for sharing ☺️
Both the woodland area and the coastline there are beautiful, it was nice to see them in the video. Well done for spotting the two images that you got, they turned out very nice.
Thomas, I follow you for your inspirational photography and the knowledge of photography you share, a frequent message imparted that the way to improve my skills is to get out and shoot. It seems as of late that your collaboration videos with Nick and Gavin and Adam have devolved into a series of self-indulgent comedic skits that are designed to entertain rather than educate. I will now finally leave the world of UA-cam “influencers” to you and the guys…..and now get out there to shoot and build my skills. Thanks you for that! (Please pass this on to your cohorts….all of whom I still respect.)
That bit about hiking with your fly open, I don't think I've ever heard that before. Maybe he was just very fond of you, Thomas. As long as Gavin had his hiking flip-flops on, I'm sure he made it through the sketchy parts just fine. After all, he's as sure footed as a bloated mountain goat. :)
Though you're British you obviously haven't heard of the Highland Mile - a distance that can be anything between just under a mile to 3 or more miles... (depending if there is something of real interest at the end of the hike.. Would have liked an attempt at the scenery round those basalt rocks seen in the background of your Spag-sans-Spag feast..
It would be fun to get you four here to Alaska to shoot with. Kinda like an informal free form workshop. As you all have different perspectives on how you shoot landscapes, of which are very refreshing. The challenging thing here, is where to go ... as there are so many possibilities for locations to shoot at here in Alaska. Especially if one is willing to get away from the roads.
My experience is that out-hikers ALWAYS tell you that "you are almost there". Well worth the hike in my mind. I do think the tide pool shot is a keeper. Lovely, mystical colors due to the late and subdued overcast light. Cheers. PS: Can't believe you walked right past the Puffin - also, was the goat a wild?
I think there was a good tourism photo or two to be made. The four following the leader through the field of rocks. Maybe someone admiring the view of the arch, or in the arch looking beyond.
Hey Tom, you should definitely come to Polish Pieniny mountains during autumn, it's such a beautiful region especially at that time. I could show you the area if you wish 😄 love from Poland man!
@@michalstoch I visit Pieniny every year since 2000 and still think of it as one of the most beautiful places I've seen. Where did you live in Poland? Lub gdzie mieszkałeś? 😄 Edit: Właśnie przeczytałem na twoim kanale, że teraz jesteś we Francji, pozdrowienia, więc z Warszawy do Lyonu!
W takim razie przy najbliższej wizycie koniecznie jedź w okolice Jaworek do wąwozu Homole, do rezerwatu Biała Woda i inne piękne miejsca tamtych stron!
Another great instructional tutorial. Do you have your skies for sale? Haven't done cityscapes as I live in rural Wisconsin so maybe your book wouldn't be a good fit for me!
In all seriousness it does remind me of how you feel when you first get to delicate arch after all the hiking. It’s great and amazing and beautiful but besides just photographing the obvious there’s nothing else really there. Props for finding a neat little composition there. Looked like a good time either way!
Next time rent a boat and don't put your life in risk... I was nervous watching that trail on the cliff, especially when Gavin passed (we all know he falls easily) :D Nice to see you together again!
Trees & blue bells: you took the photo in the video with extended tripod legs. Did you try taking a photo when closer to the ground? The blue bells are small, but a major subject in the picture.

The image of the tidal pool shocked me .Gorgeous
Two beautiful images and love the adventures
Springtime in a bluebell wood really is magical!
I am so blown away that you got to be there and see those arches up close in person. To just be there. What a Wow! Pics or not, wow.

You got to be kidding!! That last photo was just beautiful
Wonderful scenery there.
Top tip from Tom: ‘Just open your fly up a bit!’ 😆👏🏻🙏🏻
Fun, fun times. Thanks for getting me over that stretch of imminent death Thom. Not sure I would have done it without ya!
Cool. Love you all.
ha ha great colab thoroughly enjoyed it !!
4 legendary photographers get together, interesting!!
Perfect! A Quad photo group - with all the characters to make it rock...
Just been down to the shops with my fly open. Turns out that they are quite conservative in Foodland.
LOVED the arch reveal 15:12-15:30. Lovely little tidepool image, too!
Brilliant
hahahaha. I never expected that hiking tip nor the need for pixelation in your video!
Fantastic drone shots and fantastic camaraderie.
Always fun when you four get together. I'm totally jealous of your team adventures. The drone footage around the arches is spectacular.
You will soon zip your crutch back up when those midges get in !
Two beautiful intimate landscapes.
Spotted a puffin behind your back! @10:50 😂 Just chillin' along the trail..

Love the photo of the tide pool!!
Glad you had a good time on Mull .. a fantastic island and one which we frequent in the van quite a lot .. mostly for wildlife watching ...
Really really amazing photos congratulations!
Love both images. Isn't it great when you find something completely different from what you intended. 👍
This video is a definition of the word 'Beautiful'. Thanks, Tom!
The march to the arch…
nice trip and vid… And beautiful picture of the trees and bluebells… Thank you all
Keeper!!
That was worth the hike. So rich in texture and colour. Good call.
I loved seeing this. So cool to see you guys back together. Wish I had a group of friends like this!
Liked both the images and especially the rock pool, nice.
Fellowship of the focus ring :D
I feel like you guys are hobbits making your long journey beyond the Shire.
The fellowship of the photographs?
One focusring to rule them all.
😆👏🏻
@@kydj4888 haha, just my initial thought as well..

You shocked me mate, you live in a country with the best maps in the world … and you did not know how far you had to walk!!!!
Film of you suggesting hiking with your zip undone followed immediately by footage of a goat turning and running away. Excellent editing.
The last shoot you think, the Photographer is in the deep sea...great shoot Thomas.
I think both images are beautiful. I I was eagerly awaiting your hiking tip thinking perhaps it was something a senior woman could use.......Hmmm maybe not LOL. I think John B's comment below this one hit the nail on the head, I love it LOL
That tide pool photograph is lovely.
I wish I could purchase it!
Fantastic Arches :)
Very nice! Just like d'Artagnan and the three Muskeeters :)
That was a lot of fun Tom! Nice find at the end there in the tide pool.
Aww I love it when you guys get together, brilliant to see you all. Did you ever decide on the name for your group? Love the images you've captured Tom, thank you for sharing ☺️
Love these 'Gang of Four' videos!
Both the woodland area and the coastline there are beautiful, it was nice to see them in the video. Well done for spotting the two images that you got, they turned out very nice.
great video, those arches were so cool!
Great mountains and photography.
Everyone: WOW LOOK AT THIS ARCH!
Thomas: YO! You see this dope hole thats got some water and rocks in it!?
The trees are the bluebells came out dead perfect
Two of your better shots ever, IMO.

Cool thumbnail looks like an elite photo section
sleeping and shooting, just how I like it
Adam singing Paul McCartney is worth the price of admission!
I raise your hiking tip with another one of my favourites, "Use a map" xD
I raise by what happened to using your GPS to measure the distance, the one you always carry.....obviously difficult to get it out of the bag
The seaweed shot works

Great content Thomas, really enjoyed that thanks- beautiful location and awesome to see you guys all roadtripping together!
Another good video, also good to watch Nick’s video in tandem. Still cannot help thinking of Monty Python’s Whicker Island... in a good way.
Hey Thomas!!! The last photo is definitely a keeper!! 😍
Nice. Two days for two photos. Very efficient.
Great video 👍 just back from the area and it wasn’t so nice weather - a bit jealous 😂

I will never close my fly ever again, thanks Thomas!
Ooo that sketchy bit. Pleased you made it. Love the pool image. Well spotted.
Cheers guys ✌ Greetings from France
Great tip! or should I say, Gran consejo!
Another great video Tom👍 That woodland image is stunning 👌
Gavin you seem to be packing a snickers arch since your last vlog 😂🤣 nice to have you back online bro 👌
Tom, I wonder if Dehaze would further enhance the water picture?
I think there was a good tourism photo or two to be made. The four following the leader through the field of rocks. Maybe someone admiring the view of the arch, or in the arch looking beyond.
The photo boys are back in town ♥
The images are gorgeous. But that ridge looked really dangerous. I wouldn't have crossed it for all the money in the world.
lucky bar steward!!!
You find the best places, scary but amazingly beautiful

In the situation like this I would have gone for obvious comp.
Propably wide angle having arch diagonally on right with basalt columns on left
Another great instructional tutorial. Do you have your skies for sale? Haven't done cityscapes as I live in rural Wisconsin so maybe your book wouldn't be a good fit for me!
When you going to visit the jurassic coast. Brendan van son has we have the best coast line in the uk, great video by the way.
excllent little vlog
I actually really liked the tide pool shot. It just overall seems very interesting to me and an image i could look at for a while.
I would have taken a shot of the arch ;)
Watching you four always reminds me that 'Life is a school'.
Nice video lads 👍👍👍
Look at the lovely mansweat on GH!
Get a mountain bike. Ha ha ..
nice touch on the drone work.

Have you gone to the Faroe Islands?
If you want to stay dry, unzip your fly. I've been doing this for years and it really helps.
Next time rent a boat and don't put your life in risk... I was nervous watching that trail on the cliff, especially when Gavin passed (we all know he falls easily) :D
Nice to see you together again!
I see the easy with which you attach your circular polarizer. I have a lot of trouble attaching my Lee Circular Polarizer. What are you using?
Trees & blue bells: you took the photo in the video with extended tripod legs. Did you try taking a photo when closer to the ground? The blue bells are small, but a major subject in the picture.
Can't believe you didn't shoot the 2nd arch! If only for a reminder of how beautiful it is. Cheers!
Nice couple of images from your day out withe the boys, how did Nick cope with the hike back LOL!
