He said he was going for 50
but if he’s not in love with the sport anymore
then it’s a good time to go
There’s no point in putting his body through that shit he’s got enough money he’s a legend congrats cowboy
ya donald says all the time hes scared of fighting. 3 fight days in a matter of weeks must have killed him. glad hes at peace.
how far off from 50 was he I've watched back through his fights he's a savage
@@Videogamezone1 like 2 or 3 fights I think, if he would have won he probably would of went for it . What a legend tho all respect.
@@mattbutler4539 Thanks he's awesome the man will fight anyone 👍
50 fights? He’s 36-17 thats more than 50!
Imagine having such a legendary career in the UFC and still staying up all night due to the anxiety of a fight and still making that walk every time. We don’t always choose how much anxiety or fear we get from life but we can control whether we face it. Respect to that man, win or lose. 🙌🏽🙌🏽
Kinda weird though that he would feel that way. Floyd who alot of MMA fans say was a b1tch would just be super relaxed before fights.. shyt I've even seen kids go into tournaments excited as hell lol..but yeah everyone is different and he still made his walk.. Legend
@@robertespinoza9104 I’m sure Floyd was nervous before his fights it’s just he was able to deal with it well
Great comment friend
@@robertespinoza9104 Which is more impressive? Some who is naturally relaxed or excited before a fight or someone who is anxious to fight but does so anyway? One is fearless, the other is brave
@@DylanJo123 honestly they're both super impressive.
Hats off to you Legend. Your legacy is gonna stay in out hearts. Love and respect from India 🇮🇳 🧡
the guy is kind of a self absorbed tool tbh
Same.... Cowboy is one of the all time legends... love from india too
True legend who was literally willing to fight anyone in short notice. It was a blessing to follow through this man’s career👏
The less time he had to think about his opponent, the less time he had for anxiety to build up. He's always had a pretty weak mentality; why is this something that everyone cites as a positive?
@@peaceonmars always a hater somewhere
@Bustopher McCumbus dude is not mentally weak he’s fighting some of the best dudes or younger up and coming fighters
@Bustopher McCumbus go look at the statistics, his bloody wars say otherwise..🤠😀
@@peaceonmars he developed this trait later in his career and its gotten worse after he became a dad. It's difficult to compare Donald from the WEC days to Conor's Donald. The UFC hasn't been keen on him either, he should only have fought cans towards the end of his career but hey fighting anybody anytime was kind of his trademark. I'm glad he retired though, wish him the very best.
Damn didn't expect cowboy to retire what a legend he is good luck with your future cowboy thanks for all the crazy fights
As much as I still wanna see him fight, this is probably a great age to retire. Lots of fighters retire before 40, but he kept fighting until 42. He is a legend but he can’t really keep up anymore. Definitely a legend of the sport for sure. UFC would be stupid if they didn’t give him a spot in the Hall of Fame.
Sadly MacLife disappoints yet again with shyte audio and camera work. Give it up MacLife. The Cowboy deserves better than this.
@@setsunaimpacto8713 hes 39 not 42 dude and its not all about age its about the wear of fighting for years. If you start late you can go longer if you are all about heavy sparing and youre fights are against top guys youre not gonna last that long. starting abit latter in life and being smart about youre fight selection and training is what makes your career longer.
“Heh!
Dax and danger!
Get up right now!!”😬
Being a father above ALL ELSE!!!
Hats off Cowboy, thank you for everything…🍻
Cowboy is a true legend of the fighting game. He would fight anybody, anywhere, anytime. We've seen him taking on big challenges so many times. So many great performances too. And most importantly he always was pure class and showed great behaviour even if being a drunken savage. Let's pay homage to this legend man, wish him the best after this and hope he stays around.
he's carrying a special energy into his retirement it's beautiful to see
You will be missed cowboy. Thank you for a great career of fights and never backing down from a challenge.
im not going to miss this tool

@@JohnDoe-sx2zk your background picture is a picture of you flexing. You sure you’re not the tool?

Fantastic username.
Dam good on the journalists for asking decent questions and a hell of an interview from cowboy. Ride out cowboy and thanks for being instrumental in the growth of the sport we all love today.
There's alot of hate towards Cowboy & most of it is from newer fans that have only seen his last few fights but the real fans & long time fans know he's one of the real ones. Just because you don't get a belt don't mean you can't be great. This dude would legit fight anyone anytime & never thought twice. Never turned down a fight ever, most fights in history under ZUFFA banner, 2nd most wins in UFC history, most post fight bonuses in UFC history, most head kick KO's in UFC history. That's something to be proud of & he'll definitely be in the HOF.
What a legend. Absolute pure class. Anywhere. Anytime. Never whined or complained that he needs this amount or that amount. U think UFC won't do him right? Absolutely not. 100% will be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame. All other fighters should learn from him. He is loved by Dana and the UFC.
I hope so. He deserves it and he was a unique character in the league who always walked the walked and was appreciated by the large majority of fans.
@@notundermywatch3163 Believe 100% he would be in UFC HOF CLASS OF 2023.
Cowboy and Nate are people's champs. In the sense that they acquired top recognition without a title.
Absolute legend. Thanks for the memories Cowboy
What a career. This dude is such a legend and will be missed in the ufc for sure. Thank you for blessing us for so long cowboy! 🤙
Dude was a Top 15 Light or Welterweight From 2011-19. Alot of Champs can't say that.
Gutted to see cowboy go but I was glad I didn't miss it. What a legend watching this guy get inducted into the hall of fame next will be a sight to see 👊🙏
So much respect for you Cowboy 👊 You have been an icon for the MMA community and it was an honor watching your fights. Good luck moving forward and looking forward to watching those movies.
Thanks for an amazing career Cowboy, enjoy your well deserved retirement big dog ❤️🙏🏽
Legit almost cried when he retired. What a guy.
I did lol
Man what a legend. One of my favorite fighters of all time. Thanks for all the entertaining fights! HOF all day
I got to see Cowboy fight in Vancouver, BC back in in 2019 vs Gaethje. Never forget that night. He's a legend of the sport. I went through some old clips of his best of quotes. He's a legend. I wish him nothing but the best
Buddy and I flew from Alberta for that fight. Sucks that he lost but at least we got too see the event
Cowboy was my neighbor when he lived in the 303...it was amazing to watch his career from afar! Its a true end of an era! I wish Donald all the success!!!
How gracious of Jim Millar to let Cowboy make his retirement before talking to Rogan about his win.
He is one of the few fighters that everybody enjoyed watching no matter win or loose. We love you Cowboy. Thanks for all the great fights!!
Cowboy deserves huge respect, I can't wait to honor him by buying a ticket to every movie he does. Thanks man, great career. HOF'er no doubt.
Thank you for the idea. I'll do the same when I can
cowboys wife must feel inadequate. he talks like his life will suck without fighting. he will get a divorce soon 🤣
@@JackhammerPossessor A bit of a stretch but its ok. He grew up his whole life training and in mma and fighting. Its understandable but still a pretty hard take.
@@JackhammerPossessor no he won't she's a doctor. He ain't going to let her go
@@JackhammerPossessor i agree. the guy is a narciccist . i can totally see him kicking anthony smiths grandma out of his seat
The man rode in on his horse solo, First stop was to the WEC, then the UFC... He gave us barn burner fights every single time... Now 17 years later, after a story book career, he rides off into the Sunset in his horse drawn carriage with his wife, 2 sons & a legacy that many fighters can only dream to achieve.
COWBOY!
Legend. Dude deserves a good rest and to enjoy the lifestyle his in-ring talents have built for him.
Mad respect. He’s a class act.
Been a huge cowboy fan since the WEC days! Met him in vegas at a fan expo years ago. He's cool af!. Never put on a boring fight. He's a warrior!
One helluva career! Even tho you lost that fight it's good to see you in high spirits 💯
What a legend. Enjoy retirement champ', thank you for all those awesome fights.

Stop hating.
Hats off to this Hall of Famer. F Stephen A. Smith!
What did Stephan A say?
Stephen a hasn’t played a sport in his life.
@@UA-camr-ki2gb he gave cowboy shit after he lost to Conor and suggested that cowboy didn’t give a shit about the fight. Which was so disrespectful because we all know cowboy is game no matter what. But anytime Conor is on a card they put a bunch of doofus ESPN folks as commentators even thou they don’t know shit. Like stephen A
Stephen a was right
@@aaronauld3068 But Cowboy literally said he didnt want to be in there with Conor? Stephen A Smith was spot on
thank you, sir, for all the hard fights you been in and the work you put into your career. You have been my favorite fighter from the beginning win or lose. In a sport with the highest highs and the lowest lows you always carried yourself with class. It was a fucking honor watching your career.
I loved watching him when I first started watching mma and it’s been nice thanks for the peek into you’re life hell of ah ride
Hats off to you! I really appreciate watching your career! Enjoy your retirement and family.❤
WE FUCKING ALL LOVE YOU. Thanks cowboy. Seriously. From wec to ufc. You’ve always been game. This sucks but I’m happy for you
Certainly gonna miss Cowboy. He was one of my favorites since he got here. Thank you for the memories. But if anyone was gonna get the itch in a couple years, it’s Cowboy Cerrone! 🤞🏻🤞🏻
Nothing but good words throughout the comments. Respect!!❤️
i'm going to miss this guy, he's such a cool guy and superfun to watch fighting.
Cowboy among others in the WEC are the reason I became a die hard fan of this sport. I grew up a boxing fan. Cowboy is one of the few names I feel drew me to this sport. What a fantastic career. It's been a true pleasure
Best head kick in UFC history - amount of KOs surmounts any technique argument
Love my man Cowboy yes sir!!!! Much love and prayers and respect. We love you Brother. Enjoy life Now!!!! You will be a great Coach for sure. Alhamdulillah.
WHAT A CAREER 👏🏼WATCHED ALL UR FITES 🤝🏼ENJOY U DESERVE IT
What a career he has had ! Absolute legend of the sport. Fun riding the highs and sad hitting the lows. Have a fun retirement champ.
I watched from wec days. Thanks Cowboy!!
Cowboy it has been one hell of a Fun Ride, Win or Lose. Hey Cowboy - Ride Off Into The Sunset - And Enjoy Your Life - Thanks For Alway's Bringing It !!
I absolutely love this dude! Thanks for the best fights in the UFC!
I hope he gets paid his full amount as if he won and gets a GOOD check for all his years of work and taking short notice fights
I started MMA a bit to late to enjoy Cowboy win. I only saw him lose, but he seems like a good sport, so I'm going on a binge and watch all of them.
i hope they put Cowboy in the hall of fame he is definitely the tungsten Cowboy and everyone will miss him
Cerrones highlights are what peaked my interest in mma and made me start following the UFC. Phenomenal career and earned more than enough accolades to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Gallons of sweat
Buckets of blood

Thank you cowboy
For your sacrifice to entertain and provide for you family

Class. I’m going to miss Donald what a legend. 🙏
God bless you, Cowboy.
I can't even imagine reaching the ultimate heights (professional
athlete). Retiring esp when someone as beloved as DC: The Cowboy.
Even after my last Division2 college hoop game it was just like
Cowboy describes - surreal that basketball was over. Behind me.
Took and takes 2-3 years for reality to set in.
See you in the movies,Cowboy. You’ve been entertaining us for years and your not done! Best of luck down the road.
Just a lovely guy
RESPECT TO COWBOY 💯. GO ENJOY YOUR FAMILY AND KIDS ❤️.
You will NEVER be forgotten.. there was no one like you Cowboy.. You are a legend in so many ways.. enjoy life now brother
How did an mma reporter forget Jose Aldo when naming WEC alumni that are still in the ufc.
Thank you for the memories Cowboy! Legend!
What's he a legend of? Getting his ass kicked?
Cowboy is a absolute legend. It has been a honor to watch his fights over the years. He is definitely in the Hall Of Fame. I hope he enjoys his retirement and all the blessings ahead him.You will definitely be missed. 👍🏾👍🏾🌝

Absolute legend. Been watching cowboy since the start. Anyone gives this man crap needs to have a look at themselves. What a guy. What a career. The guy is a ufc legend. Wish u well in retirement cowboy 🤠 👏
Damn. He was finally ready to go. Worried he'd b trying to fight til he's 50. Love me some Cowboy. He is the epitome of what fighters r doing now. Holland, Borz & every1 who got famous for taking last min fights even a wk after they just fought. The Cowboy way. Legend. Enjoy your ride in to the sunset
Who can say anything bad about cowboy 🤠 ....hes a legacy....
*Cerrone looked good and aggressive in round 1. Had an unlucky slip. He should go for 50 fights.* He looked strong and maybe he doing some films gave him a good break and rejuvenated him. I reckon he would do well having 2 fights a year, and just having smaller camps and not draining his body and mind.
Cowboy is getting old and cutting weight for nearly 50 fights does a toll on your body not even including all the mental battles they go through . I don't get why so many braindead people want to see people die in the ring he should have retired after his Connor fight
He's done he's done everything he could of now he gets to do the best job in this Realm
Thats being a full time dad
God bless you cowboy
This man represented the brand very well. A class act 💯
What a Legend!! You should of retired before the McGregor fight.! No one could touch you in your you get days. Thank you for all the memories! Thank you for being a true gentleman of the sport! You helped make UFC what it is today! Enjoy life mate you earned it
One of the most beloved MMA fighters in the world. Sucks to see him go but we got a lot out of him. #legendstatus
Enjoy your retirement Cowboy, thank you for all the amazing fights
Legend.
The only guy to be in my favourite 3 fighters every year no matter how many great fighters and characters there were... there from the first day I started watching until today and what a ride.
Heart of gold like the Wonderboys and the Whittaker’s with the wild side of the craziest dudes as well... made the sport better in every way.
Thank you for everything Donald
What a guy dude! I think Cowboy, Joe and DC would be an awesome broadcast team!
Legend. Thanks for all the great fights cowboy
Absolute legend man. Thanks Cowboy
Cowboy is the man. What a career. I hope he fully enjoys his retirement.
