able to hear.... I am going to try a wireless mic with me and my little one this summer. sometimes we have a nice talk. . "still a beginner three years in.." hmmm we are about 1.5 years in. hahah Good riding! thanks for sharing
Good idea with the wireless mic thing. And yeah...a lot of our friends can easily clear jumps and hit berms at speed, so it really makes us feel like beginners compared to them. We do fine on chunky, rocky, and rooty stuff, but we look completely lost on smoother flow trails, taking berms super slow and casing every single jump.. Glad you enjoyed the vid though. 😊
@@dukeofmtb no worries it is just me and the little one and easy blue trails.... I am impressed on how well you both handle the chunks. I would have thought the flow would have been easier

There's Boyne Highlands. It's 4 hours from the metro area. Then there's Blue Mountain in Ontario. Also 4 hours away, but the border is still closed so....

@@dukeofmtb I’ve seen your trip to Blue! Awesome 🤩 but Blue mountain never opened 2020 at all due to Covid. Crushed my 2020 USA bike park plans completely! Hopefully summer 2021 will be better but it’s not looking like it so far.

The gear goes under the clothes my dude. It’s designed that way and provides proper protection in a crash.
We take off our armor a lot when at the park. Also don't like wearing an oversized jersey. It works. Thanks for the tip though.
And now they are permanently closed. 😒 was gonna plan a trip there next winter after watching your video

How much travel do you need to ride the trails in North Carolina from a 29er FS stand point?
I guess it depends.
Want to clear all the techy climbs like you're Jeff Lenosky? A 130/130 might be the ticket.
Just want to descend and don't mind hike-a-biking? The more travel, the better for when it comes time to descend.
Personally, we hike-a-bike a lot of stuff anyway. We have yet to climb up to the top of anything without having to get off our bikes and walking it. 😅 Might as well bring the big bike in that case. The tech on the natural Pisgah trails can get pretty rough, and it's super fun to just let 'er rip and plow through all of it. 😁👍
