I love the BOB phase of satisfactory, getting fuel power stations, building reinforced frames, computers. This is the point where I take a break throwing myself at the tech tree and work on re-building, making more centralised factories, merging production rather than running modular orange box builds. The orange monoliths are a testament to my progress, moving past these is a testament to my love of the game.
People actually bother to put walls around their early builds? 😂 I'm spaghetti till I'm ready, all the way :)
Just to fact check you, a realistic factory is a box that’s got very little interest. The few interesting ones I have seen were a victim of cost cutting and a proportion of the building was removed. Sadly, architects don’t think like satisfactory players.
I almost commented the same... real factories follow a simple, effective and efficient box shape. These designs are.. futuristic homes that nobody lives in at best. :D
You’re trying to make a sci-fi fantasy factory based on real brutalist architecture that was designed for aesthetics.
If you were trying to make a real factory, you’d be stuffing a bunch of workers in a hot sweaty box with cancer gas spraying everywhere in the name of squeezing every last drop of profit you can out of them before they try and unionize.
Idk about you but I don’t want that in my factory game. Stick to fantasy.
And they are patchwork more time than not... new buildings added over time and normally shipping containers added over time (the shipping containers ending up accumulating over time is accurate to satisfactory to be fair)
well its "how to design in satisfactory" not "how to efficiently plan and lay out a real life factory"

I have to say I lack in ability and also in willpower to do such beauties. I'm all about engineering. But this looks just so nice, I have to finally convince myself to do this.
I am loving this series! VERY detailed and great advice! I certainly took notes!
Thanks for the kind words Mr Blandrew!
I agree. You do such a great job of explaining the sort of thought processes that goes into designing the various aesthetic parts of the buildings. I know for me, it’s the area that I am most in need of improving. Too often I want to just get the factory up and running properly without planning for improvements in the look of the structure.
This channel is criminally underrated, we need to bring more people here.
I appreciate the kind words 💯
@@KyloBuilds man you are fast lol
@@Unstpbl just happened to see the notification 😂😂
tbh, I just kind of let the factories build themselves. I have the utmost respect for people who spend weeks on the aesthetics of a single factory, but I love to just let the factory be what it's gonna be lol
How to increase performance and time costs by 1000%. Not fixit approved
Ficsit has Some unique pioneer cases, allowing them to build extra to say sane, therefore being more productive in the long run!
When the thumbnail shows a factory identical to mine and says "Don't do this!"
Flat walls and box buildings ARE beautiful. They emphasise function over form, which is an aesthetic all its own. Once you start making compact, extensible, tileable design, they stop fitting into perfectly square boxes unless you're OK with wasting tons of space. At that point, buildings develop shapes of their own, informed not by artistic vision but by simple, organic utility. Personally, I dislike these kinds of over-designed, elaborate structures because all I can see is waste. A waste of space housing those giant decorative structures, a waste of resources rendering all those extra meshes, a waste of time putting it all together. That's all I can see. Intellectually, I get wanting to treat Satisfactory like a canvas on which to pain your imagination. However, to me it goes entirely counter to the thing's nature as a game.
Sounds to me that Shapez is more for you then. Satisfactory let's you decorate as little or as much as you want, it's the chilled factory game.
@@Derzull2468 Yeah, I already own Shapez 2. It's a lot of fun, but it lacks any sort of production chain. Seems a lot more focused on a "build anything machine" which adapts to new shapez as needed.
And yes, Satisfacotry does allow for all playstyles. My point was more that designing around utility can look just as good as designing purely for aesthetics. My usual "factory" is a tower with a central shaft for belts going up and down. This means that floors can be of arbitrary size dictated by machines, throughput and belts. It produces fairly interesting structures with just a slight application of slanted walls where surfaces misalign.
In my experience, optimising to reduce waste and tolerance starts creating an aesthetic all its own, past a certain point.
okayy?
Saw this at the perfect moment. Last session I went through and broke down all my box bases, wondering what I needed to actually *create* permanent factories. instant follow after the vid o7
Looks great!
In the video you show some end product of what can be done.
While helpful for getting references, there is zero information on HOW to build it.
I'm looking for tutorials because I haven't learned to build like this myself, not because I lack inspiration.
It would be really helpful seeing some in-betweens of the "cut" between "here's a wall. Give some space both ways" and "here is the gargantuan result you'll gonna get".
This video is more of a methodology. The following 5-7 episodes I start building a factory, for that exact reason! That way people can see WAY more of the design process! Feel free to check out the playlist, I hope it helps!
But with box-buildings I feel like I am at home.
just by listening to this, i already imagined a few designs for my 5k aluminium per minute factory
looks like somebody is also a Fluxo fan.
Guilty as charged😂, but what gave it away?

I refuse. I like my orange eyesores lol
(Watches intently anyway)
Don't say stop doing this... Dat's da prettiest kind of yewow factory! And easy....
That's incredible, good video!
how did he make the kylo corp signs?
Killer advices :) good job!
Factory? All my worlds are just floors....
@6:52 how do you do the vertical slits?
nvm i figured it out. pretty slick man
@@kingjames1308 How did you figure it out, if I may ask?
@ best to use this in blueprint. Put a foundation down. Use road barriers with nudge to line up where you want the slits. Place 1/4 wall on top of barrier and click control to replace barrier with wall. Zoop the wall down. Change wall material to concrete
Take horse shape, make rest of horse. Basically this video
Dude. Talk and show.
Pro tip: You talk about doing it while staring at basic wall. Why you rather dont show how you build it?
Nice, THX.
How do you only have 1100 subs??
🤷♂️ Started in December. Hoping to increase quality over time!
3:31 the possible expressions here are "right off the bat" or "right out of the gate". "Right off the gate" is nonsense
But I like nonsense 😂

У тебя в голове, он советы даёт, а не за ручку тебя учит строить
