He's absolutely right that you don't actually split up from someone. There is the bond together that goes on. You feel that one is part of you and that doesn't die. But, it's not what you want to hear when you've lost what feels like everything. 'You haven't lost anything real' he says, it's not what you tell someone in this situation. In actual fact they have lost the relationship. The right to be with that person on a daily basis, to talk to them in the way you did, to be intimate together. That is all real. Yes, the dream of the future has been lost, but more than anything let's acknowledge pain. The pain is so deep. This is very prescriptive and theoretical I'm afraid. The fall out of losing that one is real. Heartbreak is real, it changes you, and you aren't the same person ever again. Everything he's saying is for further down the line. The questioner isn't able to access his deeper authenticity with him. He needed to be present with him, really be with him. This is like a death.
I really love listening to Jeff Foster, he is so pure, so wise and full of life, He embodies the ease of being . And its so freeing when Jeff is laughing - Thanks a lot ♥ ♥
I'm so imprinted by Eckart Tolle's negative view of the mind, his aim of letting it die etc that I feel irritated by his loving attitude towards the mind. But it sounds more harmonious. It's the one thing that irritates me about Tolle's work which is otherwise brilliant :)
I agree with a little of this. For me, it was extremely helpful to practice not attaching an emotional memory to the relationship and breakup. I turned those feelings around and would brainstorm the feelings of gratitude I could manage to find, from him and the relationship. Over time, (a month or two), that era in my life does not cause me to curl into the fetal position, and sometimes I even feel a little rush of warmth and love. I do see how this approach is effective too!
Both have simmilar message about excepting the moment now as it is..also simmilar book content, maybe Tolle focous more on ego vs "spirit"but I dont find him agresive as some other spiritual teachers..also Jeff goes more in to ego in different vids so their message is very simmilar in a way..love them both💞

To me, when I allow the feeling to be there it disappears
It is my-self that I want but I can't have that as long as I am clinging to an object.

I agree completely.

I suspect that Eckhart would be in total agreement with what is being shared. A question of emphasis or language maybe?
Good joke :))) deep truth
Way fucking too funny
