The old joke is that an A-340 relies on the curvature of the earth to gain altitude.
That old joke "curvature" ? lol
Hahaha!
LOL . Love it.
then, this clip prove the earth is flat
im guessing its specific to the A343 - the 346 has much better performance
That first clip of the Air X A340 take off, Aerosucre would consider that perfect.
They would like it for sure but I'm not sure they would consider it 'perfect'... because the full runway length was not used and no fences were cleared as part of the standard takeoff procedure at Aerosucre!
@@Vishnu-Bnot to mention, they forgot to do the classic bank angle after takeoff that aerosucre loves to do
Those were ex-Aerosucre pilots flying the A340
A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
I'm not certain an Aerosucre crew would have confirmed a positive climb rate before raising the landing gear, as appears to have happened in this case...
The 340 wasn’t late, they paid for the entire runway they are going to use the entire runway
🤣🤣
It's like it's dragging its arse 😂
Btw it’s a private jet
Aerosucre style!!
Legend has it, the A340 is still climbing to its cruising altitude to this day…
nah, they are just waiting for the earth to turn !
Bro why does everyone hate on all my favorite aircraft.
MD-11 - hard to land and unsafe
767 - ugly, boring and worse than 777
A340-300 - very weak airplane
Don't feel bad, @@0w3nn, I also love those three. I never heard such criticism of the 767, though. It is probably the most comfortable plane for long flights, not as cramped as a 777 cabin. 787 is a good replacement, but tighter
@@0w3nnyeah, you said that already.
@@sammyhill69 yeah I did
Typical A340, running on 4 hair dryers🤣
It's rumoured that a Saudi princess asked Santa for a Dyson hairdryer for Christmas, and her husband got her an A340 instead. Imagine wrapping one of those, let alone trying to disguise what it was so as not to spoil the surprise on Christmas morning!
Damn…beat me to it…😅👍 0:37
Yup. The A340 is still my fav Airbus aircraft...but that bird definitely ain't no 757. That's for sure. Lol.
I'm an Airbus fan and slightly offended but thats hard to argue against and true... 😅😂
There's no getting around the fact that A340 is grossly underpowered...
Hair dryers? 😅
Damn, I'm 41 years old now and - believe it or not - in my whole life I flew only four times: from Schiphol (Amsterdam, Netherlands) to Sao Paulo (Brasil) and back (B777-300ER), and from Dortmund (Germany) to Turda (Romania) and back (A320). All of those flights were in 2023, when i was 40 y.o. In two weeks i have a flight to Bristol, UK... And you know what? I just frigging LOVE airplanes! Thanks 3MoA for another video, I'm hooked in your vids for like 3 years now.
Enjoy your upcoming flights! ✈️
@@3MinutesofAviation Thank you Sir, I will definitely enjoy them. 🫡
Come to Australia you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the plane
@@MrRob221984
I Will but with an A380 I guess..
Wow for your first flight from Amsterdam to São Paulo is a long flight, I bet it was enjoyable though!
A fully loaded A340-300 needs 10,000 feet to take off and that runway was 10,630 feet long, so they certainly didn't leave themselves much margin for error.
Not how it works. The 10000 feet is balanced field length. This had more to do with a flex power take off.
@@rtbrtb_dutchy4183 again, someone who is clueless - the a343, which you know fuck all about, will NEVER use derated power in situations like this.
@@ghostrider-be9ek situations like what? What do you know from this clip of a few seconds? LOL. I’m typed on the 340 dude.
@@rtbrtb_dutchy4183 LOL - still has no idea why the 343s were undesirable. Still has no clue why derating in a 343 is an oxymoron - still has to point out they are 'type rated' in order to sound serious.
Notice how I've not once mentioned anything about my aviation background? And that I use terms like 343 and 346 ?
Bro why does everyone hate on all my favorite aircraft.
MD-11 - hard to land and unsafe
767 - ugly and worse than 777
A340-300 - very weak airplane
Watchig A340 climbing with that angle of attack is pretty scary...
A normal angle of attack is scary?
@@rtbrtb_dutchy4183 thats not a normal AoA for a large transport category aircraft - probably 1/2 of what is typical.
@@ghostrider-be9ek so you are really talking about deck angle, not AoA. That’s not the same.
Also, if you want to stay with AoA, for an aircraft having half the AoA is actually better than a higher AoA, which could get close to a stall.
Anyway, no, for a 4 engine aircraft, the deck angle and climb rate, is normal. You cannot compare climb performance of a 4 engine aircraft versus a 2 engine aircraft. A B747 would be the same.
@@rtbrtb_dutchy4183 LOL, climb performance of a high powered twin is somehow lacking vs an older quad jet - watching this video, you just completed your statement in buffoonery.
What matters most is thrust/weight ratio, NOT the number of engines. Why do I have to explain the obvious?
Yes, AoA and deck angle are different, but my point is the same, this is not a typical nose up attitude for a large commercial airliner - that the video clearly shows the aircraft struggling to gain altitude, and you think its 'normal' - again indicates a clear lack of the fundamentals.
@@rtbrtb_dutchy4183According to Stick and Rudder, any angle of attack can be scary in the right circumstances.
AeroSucre would be impressed by that late takeoff!
Aerosucre would consider that an early takeoff I think 🤣
Nothing to praise or take lightly in any way. Very close to disaster. This is unacceptable and needs to be investigated and not happen again.
@@pinecedar180 who do you think I am, the FAA?
@@pinecedar180 lighten up you utter wet wipe, it was a joke
My first thought aero sucre 😂
That Space X launch was a stunner! As for the B2 flyover, Darth Vader waves hello and says, "You don't know the power of the Dark Side".
It's always impressive to see something as massive as an A380 hit TOGA thrust and climb out like a banshee. That's a lot of energy.
you might like my latest video on a simulator. I did just that 😊
EDIT: no my mistake it wasn’t. it felt like TOGA!. incredible, will have to try it.

I feel like seeing a B-2 in person for the first time would really either make you think "aliens" or "sci-fi" lol. It looks so different than any standard plane.
Also, those 'jellyfish' SpaceX trails on launch are so awesome. Even better from altitude.
I worked with them for years. Despite the familiarity, I looked ever time one flew by. They’re just so cool looking.
@@Iexpedite1I am old(ish) and started flying when I was a kid... I still love watching helicopters and other aircraft flying. Aviation gets in your blood... or maybe that's the jet fuel lol.
Our son and I saw a B-2 (I think Aircraft #6 at the time) do a fly-by at the Reading, PA, Airshow (Pennsylvania Dutch country).
After it flew over, I said "I wonder what the Amish with their horse and buggies are thinking as they look up and see this crazy-looking flying machine?"
I remember news reports when I was younger about triangular shaped shadowy UFO’s over the desert in Nevada. The truth seekers would always saw, “We don’t have aircraft like that. Has to be alien.” 😂😂😂
I've seen many photos of them. Was near an airport and a B2 was doing a flyby for some event. I was at the grocery store, heard something loud and close, looked up and saw it very very close to the ground and turning. It was a bit startling maybe scary even though I realized immediately what it was.
I totally understand how people reported it as an alien ship for many years and probably still do.
I hope that A340 that took off too late had a strong tail wind and got to its destination on schedule.
Also, I noticed that the low battery warning light was flashing on the tummy of the Birmingham A380. I hope they remembered to change the batteries.
It is never "too late". It must be safe. And pilot made it well.
I know. Plus that airport is at 2,000 feet altitude, and the air density at that height has a significant effect on the take-off run. Clearly the pilot simply used all of the available runway before rotating. That allows the pilot not to over-stress the engines and still achieve the necessary ground speed before rotating out.@@podunkman2709
Is that the new electric airplane that all the environmentalists are talking about?
Exellent direction
That Emirates a380 had 2 go arounds at Birmingham due to the weather. I was working at Heathrow last week and manage to see about 15-20 go arounds during winds between 50-70mph
Even though i have flown like 60+ times now i still get a bit scared when aircraft reduce thrust a lot after takeoff like in that one clip, just that sudden g-force reduction always gets me
Same.
Sounds like the engines are losing power. 😳

That was great! Best part? No airshow clip entitled "777 takes off too steeply".
1:25 wooww that maaaxxx power from Engines 🔥🔥 Love the A380's ❤️
Remember, no smoking aboard the aircraft. Instead, a large smoke cloud is being provided from the left engine at no extra charge.
Was it SnoopDogg taking shelter in that engine?
New or recently serviced engine. This was the protective oil burning off some of the exposed parts that had been coated. Nothing unusual.

What curvature?

@@billb7876 The one which eventually yields a sphere.
It's an old joke about A340s being shitty at takeoff / low on power.
I love the no smoking warnings from the flight attendants happening as the engine smokes!
That was not smoke. It was vapor, from water evaporating off the engine cowlings on the first startup on a wet and cold morning. It happens all the time.
Just getting that last smoke in for a while 🤪. Cold and moisture evaporating plus some unburnt fuel vapor and the initial low speed burnt fuel.
TOP quality content - thanks much for this! 👍🏻
2024 Aviation is SUPER active so far.

Airplane Stunning in Medan, I like this Video ❤❤
When the engine was starting and giving off the smoke the announcement for not smoking was playing in the background 😂
Great video!
Surprised any aviation allowed close to a Space X launch, but fabulous images.
The A380 really is a monster plane.
the plane is well outside of the exclusion zone, and the second stage of the rocket shown here is already outside of the atmosphere
That plane was hundreds of miles away from the rocket, which was also hundreds of miles higher in altitude than the plane.
I’ve seen video of a Space Shuttle launch taken from an airliner…spectacular.
was on a flight up the coast one night and the pilot said he was swinging around to watch the launch from Cape Kennedy out the side windows. We were over South Carolina and could easily see the rocket's glare in Florida. (300-400 miles away?)
Very nice video

Was that really smoke on the cold startup or just steam?
The 340 had a late takeoff? What time was it supposed to takeoff?
He might have been late, but he was not too late.
Interesting to see the 340 and the 380 in the same video. One 4 engine aircraft struggles to get off the ground, the other rockets away on a go around.

I saw my place of employment as the A330 pilot began to bank slightly to the left as he was climbing out. We're at the corner of Sullivan Rd and Old National. That's cool.

0:45 Sorry, but can someone tell me where the aircraft is in this bit of the video? I can’t see it.

That 343 was at CLE. This week
So Air X is hiring pilots away from Aerosucre?
We need to give Aerosucre a break. Campinas is at 2,000ft altitude and that has a significant effect on take off performance. Plus these aircraft are probably jammed full of bales of cocaine.
What's the registration of that A340?
A340 in SBKP. Gorgeous Day ❤️
The A340 video was at VCP/SBKP a while ago.
A340 captain: everybody get out and push!
Kennedy Steve tells this story about an A340 pilot that referred to the aircraft as a big plane with 4 hair dryers under the wings. Apparently the plane is known for being under powered.
yes the engines are way too small for an aircraft that size ,they are only 5cs not fit for purpose for a plane this size,,but none the less they just about fulfill thier job,, the A 330 has 2 larger 100 inch fancase engines like PW 4000S and CF 6s way better suited for short take offs way more thrust for an aircraft similar to the A 340 -300
Ah the A340-300, four hair dryers flying in close formation.
The A340-300 reminds me of the good ole days of the DC-8-61/63 using up the entire runway and then having to circle the field so that the control tower could make sure there wasn't any part of a chainlink fence stuck in the landing before they retracted it.
How did it take off "too" late?
That a330 be sounding like my fridge bra 🤣🤣🤣😂
Top 👍🏼👍🏼
A340 long takeoff roll - it appears that flaps were not extended for takeoff? Most large aircraft have some flaps extended for takeoff to improve lift.

Takeoff was late, but not too late.
I think they had a 30 minute delay at the gate, so yes, it took off too late.
@@rtbrtb_dutchy4183 No…still only late. And that has nothing to do with this video or my comment.
@@williamwilson6499 LOL. Look up next time, before the joke goes over your head again. 🤣🤣
@@rtbrtb_dutchy4183 No joke. Just dumb.

1st one was a whimp! In Strategic Air Command a KC-135 was ALWAYS scheduled to T/O if we actually launched while on Alert with a TOGW that made us Rotate Just Before the Runway End Markes went by the windows AND GOT AIRBORNE with 50-100' of remaining in the OVERRUN. Our base was lucky & only had a 6' chain link fence around it & we took off after 4 B-52's. We hoped that one of those BUFFS would flatten it Before the 135's had to.
🫣 Thank God I was Young & Stupid in those days, Scares the BeJesus out of me today. ✈️
The A340 from the first clip took off from SBKP, my home airport.
I was taking off from John Wayne Airport a few years ago and pilot came on the PA and said, " just to give you a heads up due to noise abatement rules for Newport Beach if you haven't taken off from this airport were going to take off full power and basically Pop A Wheelie and take off at full power back after we reach a couple Thousand feet."
Was just funny he used "Pop A wheelie" analogy. I have flown out of SNA " John Wayne " a million times so i knew but thought it was funny.
Looks like that 777 just got a fresh engine.
1:50
Flight attendant: smoking is prohibited on the aircraft
The 777: Shut up (the plane is literally smoking)
I see that Aerosucre has been an inspiration to many pilots in Latin America
Not too late, just in time
When did AEROSUCRE acquire an A340?
As much as I love the A340s design, history and how unique it is compared to other aircraft, those engines really could be better.
They used the runway and took off. Seems like a well calculated take off to me, both from a mathematical and execution stand point.
Let’s be honest, the intro song makes your head bobble
First clip airport name?
"it took off too early. There were at least other 5 meters of runway and 5 of terrain". (Cit. Aerosucre)
Please let the video-title describe the video. It would then get a thumbs up from this guy.
I was expecting the first one to be a Aerosucre 😂 they seem to use every foot of a runway !
Isn't the A340-300 the one that has the smaller engines?
Air X is a re-incarnation of Aero Sucre 0:30
Was that the Air X, 9H-BIG?? A340 are so underpowered, literally used the whole runway from my local airport
Just about in time not too late dog.
ive seen that A340 before, 9H-BIG
I've paid for the use of the runway, I'm using every last inch of it 😂
Ya know, that center gear reminds me of the MD11 and MD10s
1:45 That kind of white "smoke" we had once inside the passenger cabin right after takeoff. Nobody seemed to care but it freaked me out like mad 😱 Later I was told it was coming through the air conditioner and though it wasn't desirable, it was harmless.
The smoke in the video is fumes from the incomplete combustion of the jet fuel. What you saw in the cabin was just water vapor and air from the HVAC system
The "smoke" in the cabin is just water vapor. Extremely normal.
The smoke from the engine is unburned fuel, not actually smoke. Happens when the ignitors don't ignite the fuel immediately. Not abnormal at all.
It is also quite normal in my experience to get a whiff of fuel when the airplane first switches from air provided by the auxiliary power unit (apu) to the main engines after they have started up.
Newer planes like the 787 do not use engine bleed air for cabin air, so this won't happen.
@@wiredforstereothank you for that concise explanation! Its so nice when people know what theyre talking about. 🙂
if there was NO smell, it was a water vapour event caused by high outside temperatures - if it HAD a chemical smell to it, you were just poisoned by a known neurotoxin from the engine oils
@@wiredforstereo Thank you. I flew an awful lot, but saw vapor from the a/c only one occasion. I'm a nervous flyer and it was rather scary 😧
0:46 WOOOO!!!
That cold start engine is producing less smoke than my car from a cold start 😉
So you drive a Ford, then ?
The rotation was very smooth and slow. That caused it (A340) to take off too late.
Or lack of air-speed.
Because they didn't have the airspeed to crank it. Cranking it would have exceeded the critical angle of attack and stalled it.
...And the part that rotated was the runway. :)
Tower: "Are you an A 320 or an A340 ?"
A340: "340, why do you ask ?"
Tower: "In this case, please start the other two engines."
Assuming with no obstructions, at ground level you can see about 3 miles, that is one twenty-third of a degree, which is approx. 69 miles. So around the equator that is 360 degrees x 69 miles = 24,840 miles
Not sure what you mean by 'taking off too late' in your leader, as it seemed there was still runway available.
Does the A343 really still underperform even in max TOGA setting? I am doubtful...can't possibly, can it? That must have been a derated thrust takeoff.
I like how the A380 looks like it’s just floating in the air.
The airbus should have used flap 5. Lol. The 777 reminded me of the L1011’s i used to work on. Lol. Bug killer.
