    I was able to score a perfect 30, but I had, perhaps, a bit of an advantage. I was married to an English teacher for nearly 34 years. She taught me some of the things I should have learned much earlier in life, as it relates to the English language.

      Congratulations on taking the test and achieving such an impressive score of 30! It's wonderful to see that you view it as a positive review for your memory. Age is just a number, and you've shown that your determination and commitment to keeping your mind sharp are truly admirable.
      Remember, memory can be a complex and ever-changing aspect of our lives. While it's natural to occasionally forget small details like what happened yesterday, it's important to focus on the victories and accomplishments along the way. Celebrate the progress you've made and the knowledge you've retained.
      You've demonstrated your ability to engage in stimulating activities like this test, proving that your mind is active and capable. Every effort you make to exercise your memory is an investment in your overall well-being.
      Instead of dwelling on what you may have forgotten, embrace the present moment and the knowledge you possess. You've proven that you can adapt, learn, and succeed regardless of age.
      Remember, you are capable of amazing things, and your wisdom and life experiences are valuable assets. Embrace each day as an opportunity to create new memories and cherish the moments that make life meaningful.
      Stay positive, continue challenging yourself, and know that every step you take towards preserving and enhancing your memory is a step towards a brighter and more fulfilling future.

      @d5555 Рік тому +3

      Corrected sentence: "When you asked me to change the forms of the words, I got stuck; three of them were wrong. However, I think I am fairly advanced."
      Explanation: In the original sentence, "stucked" should be changed to "stuck" as it is the correct past tense form of the verb "stick". "Three were wrong" should be changed to "three of them were wrong" to make it clear which words the speaker is referring to. "Roughly advanced" should be changed to "fairly advanced" as it is a more accurate way to describe the speaker's level of skill. Also, a semicolon is added to the sentence to separate two independent clauses.

    within vs in vs inside
    Please tell me what's the difference?

    • @EnglishTestBlog
      @EnglishTestBlog  Рік тому

      🤔🔀 Understanding the differences between "within," "in," and "inside" is a great question! Let's break it down to clear things up. 📚🔍
      🔸 "Within" suggests being inside a specific boundary or limit. It emphasizes being inside but still acknowledges the boundaries. 🌐🔲
      🔸 "In" generally refers to being inside a larger space or container without necessarily emphasizing boundaries. It implies a general sense of being enclosed or situated inside something. 🏠🔽
      🔸 "Inside" is similar to "in" but specifically emphasizes the idea of being within or enclosed by something. It puts more focus on the internal aspect of being inside. 🚪🔒
      Remember, context plays a crucial role in determining which word to use. Understanding the nuances will help you express yourself more precisely. 🗣️💡 Keep exploring examples, practicing, and asking questions to deepen your understanding. You're on the right track! 🌟🚀 If you have any further questions or need additional clarification, don't hesitate to ask. We're here to help you unravel the mysteries of language! 😊🌈

To the chair question, the correct answer was: "How many chairs are there in the kitchen" but I'd say more people would use the other option ("How many chair are in the kitchen"). Question #10 in the beginners- I always thought that 'any' is proceeded by singular noun.
    I was wrong, obviously, as the correct answer is "Do you have any sisters?".
    The interrogation question I often heard in crime stories "Do you have any role in the murder of....?" is wrong too.

    • @EnglishTestBlog
      @EnglishTestBlog  Рік тому

      You bring up an interesting point about the usage of "any" in relation to singular nouns. While it's true that "any" is often associated with plural or non-countable nouns, it can also be used with singular nouns in certain contexts.
      In the examples you mentioned, "Do you have any sisters?" and "Do you have any role in the murder of...?" the use of "any" is appropriate. Here, "any" is used to indicate an indefinite or unspecified quantity or to make an open-ended inquiry.
      In the case of "Do you have any sisters?", "any" is used because the question is asking if there are any sisters at all. It doesn't assume a specific number of sisters, whether singular or plural.
      Similarly, in the crime-related question "Do you have any role in the murder of...?" the use of "any" suggests that the question is open-ended and not assuming a specific role or number of roles. It allows for the possibility of any role, whether singular or multiple.
      It's important to consider the context and intended meaning when using "any" with singular nouns. While it may not be the most common usage, there are instances where it is grammatically correct and appropriate. Language can be flexible, and its usage can vary depending on different factors and contexts.

      Well done! 👏 Your analytical skills are impressive. First and foremost, it appears that you possess an extensive vocabulary. 📚 Yes, both "compelling" and "compulsive" can be excellent choices for this context. However, it's important to note that the question specifies forming an adjective from the verb "compel." While "compelling" is derived from "compel," "compulsive" is not directly derived from the verb. Thank you for paying attention to these subtle nuances! 🌟🔍
