Lenovo PC Power Supply factory presets using 280 Watt using a 14 pin connector. If you want upgrade it using power supply DAZUMBA 600 Watt Modular 24 pin connector, it must be converted into 14 pin connector.
So, before installed on CPU, 24 pin connector must be converted into a 14 pin connector to fit the motherboard connector factory default.
In this video conversion 24 pin to 14 pin connector is done manually, there is actually a converter cable is already ready to use if you do not want to be bothered to do the conversion manually.

Why did you check the voltage on just that one cable? I did this and it worked , like I legit booted the PC and seen it loading windows. I shut it down and installed a GPU and hit a snag. I hope I didn't miss wire one of the yellow wires and pop my CPU...
It's just sample how to check the voltage, you can check each cable to make sure based-on PSU specification as you needs.
You did good job with connecting the wires, should be soldered thoe... but that dust on the case... bleeehhh
There is no need to cut wires on the new PSU cabling.... you can just pull out pins from black connector and push them into right positions in white connector from old PSU. It's pretty easy, you need just 2 staples from paper stapler - ua-cam.com/video/GKh_gUBQwvw/v-deo.html

Don't you guys love it when you buy a brand new 850 watt power supply and a sexy rx 560 but can't use it because the mother board is a lenovo 14 pin? I LOVE when I have to wait a week tow get a 14 pin adapter and knowing I have all the parts I need, I could being playing overwatch at 100 fps, but fuck no, 14 pin, not a 20 or 24 pin like EVERY COMAPNY IN THE FUCKING WORLD!...
OMG you cut both PSUs... All you needed is just to get out the pins from both connectors and put the pins from new 24-pin connector into the 14-pin one replacing them with the identical ones.

@@AGUNGH Thank you for this very useful video. I have made 24 pin to 14 pin adapter myself. But i wonder what is the white wire for at 14 pin? And also why you need +3 VDC? Because all you need is +12, +5 and -12, ground, PS_on and PS_ok?
or just get a 24 pin to 24 pin female to male connectors cut the female end off and the motherboard connector for the original power supply and wire thoes together unpin or cut out any extra and bam you have an adapter that will just plug into any power supply and adapt it.

It appatently has the same 14 pin connector and another 4 pin connector which I assume is for the cpu. I only have the motherboard and I would like to know if I could make it work so I can buy a case and mount it.

halo mas,saya mau nanya, di PC Lenovo saya kan sata power HDD nya bukan ke PSU tapi ke Mobo,kalau ganti PSU gini sata power nya boleh langsung dari PSU baru aja atau pake port di Mobo yg lama thanks

I need your help on this one. I am converting a 20 pin with one yellow wire to a 14 pin which has 3 yellow wires, how to I deal with this issue.
Make sure its yellow not orange, then yellow one you can parallel into 3 yellow. Yellow is +12V.
The 20 pin has 3 orange and 1 yellow. When you say parallel the 1 yellow, what do you mean? Thanks much.
The yellow wire only 1 in 20 pin right?if so, you can join it in to 3 yellow pin on 14 pin.

i highly suggest just paying a couple of bucks on ebay for a converter and not risking do this yourself ;)

Hello there! PLS Reply. Greetings from Serbia! 😁 I have Lenovo ThinkCentre M92p computer similar to yours, I wanna change my old 280W PSU (14pin) with new one 650W PSU (24pin). Problem is, I have some 5$ adapter that converts 24-14pin cable. But it seem that doesn't work. It boots for a second and stops. I have checked everything incase of some failed components, but everythings fine.
So I just want to ask you about your opinion, Should I do it your way?
I think using some adapter is better, but if doesn't work you can check it one by one for each connection and make it sure fastened each other. I'm sure there's loose socket.

You've converted 24+4 pins to 14 pins right? How 'bout those 4+4 pins? And there's ot necessary to connect particular yellow to particular yellow or particular black to particular black etc., right? We can connect any yellow to any yellow or any black to any black right?

i decided to put a dedicated GPU to my pc which has h11h4-am motherboard, i5 6400, 16gb ram ddr4 and fsp300-40aaba power supply.
Since the PSU doesn't have a GPU cable, I replaced it with a nilox sl x700eps. Since the motherboard has a 12 pin power supply and not a 24 pin I used a 24 female 12 male adapter to connect the power supply.
After installing the GTX 750 I started everything and for a few fractions of a second the CPU fan turned on but immediately after it turned off and the power supply repeated continuous attempts to turn on the PC.
I tried to remove the video card and check if all the pins are well connected. I also put the old power supply back and everything works.
Can you tell me the problem?

Probably support for your pc model, i suggest you to find wiring diagram current psu and your new psu to prevent short circuit accident. Also, you can find out socket adapter to convert it if needed.
A $3 molex tool would have allowed you to simply move the wires to the old connector. This is so much more difficult
Right now, the very cheapest ebay result for "molex tool" is about $20. On other sites, I see prices closer to $80. Where do you get these fantastic prices?
hey quick question i got this mobo for a cheap server off ebay. but do you need the 2x 4pin connectors for the vrms or no?
There are 2x 4pin connectors from power supply but for this mobo, we still need only 1x 4pin connector that match with it. Just matching 1x 4 pin connector with power processor socket.

there is this 24pin psu extender you can make a converter out of. why ruin a brand new psu? with the extender you can just alter the wires so it match the connecyor on the 14pin motherboard's power connector and cut the excess length with a saw or something.
The old PSU has broken. I don't ruin the new PSU, this is modification and it's work until now.

The simple way, you can buy cable adapter from molex 4 pin to SATA for HDD. There are many very cheap cable adapter in market, but if you want to modify by yourself you need power sources +3.3volt, +5volt, +12volt and Ground.

Hello, your video inspired me, but i ran into problem. I made my own adapter, it works fine with integrated gpu. But it doesn't boot with any pci-e gpu i have (rechecked every cable, reseated everything, even updated mobo bios). Pci-e slot is fine, since it works with lenovo psu.
The psu i'm trying to use is good since it runs fine on other motherboards and gpus. What could be the problem here??
hey, might be a bit late, but your motherboard might not be giving your GPU enough power since those PCs usually have little, to no room for upgrades.

from the 24pin you get 2 yellow connections (12volts). one of them must be split in to 2 connections. so you get 3 yellows :)

Untuk yang kabel putih kosongin gpp, untuk kabel kuning bisa dicabang tapi lebih baik ambil dari socket yang ga kepake... jadi ga ada cabangan seperti divideo ini. Me I would of just spliced the connector alongside the original. that way you could use the PSU for other uses if the mobo dies

You've made a fatal mistake, you should have cut the wires further back from the 24 pin so you can rewire later on for a standard atx. But thanks was wondering if it needed 12vsb

Зачем резать разъем ? покупаешь встречный разъем как на материнке и паяешь переходник. Поменяешь мать, опять перепаивать будешь ? глупо. Автор забыл показать что зеленый и черный провод надо на постоянку замкнуть между собой иначе старта с кнопки не будет, у леново дежурка не 5 В , а 12. Хе-хе.
