Whether Dr.Umar has a school or not, he’s completely right that we as a people don’t have any institution. We have enough wealth in our collective community, and we have 0 institutions. That’s not on Dr.Umar. We can get into the fraud claims and the unethical behavior surrounding his school., but that doesn’t explain why the men and women who has the platforms and resources are doing nothing.
That doesn’t explain why we as a community can’t come together and build our own brands. We condemning him, but a lot of us need to look in the mirror as well. We don’t trust each other enough to do right by each other. That’s probably the biggest issue and one that should definitely be addressed.
