Parupalli Kashyap created history at the 2012 Olympic Games in London when he became India's first male player to reach the quarter-finals of the men's singles Badminton event. Kashyap won all of his matches at the group stage, surprising the world with his defeat of Vietnam's Nguyen Tien Minh. In the Pre-quarters he knocked out Sri Lanka's Niluka Karunaratne by 21-16, 15-21, 21-14. It was not until the Quarterfinals when Kashyap's incredible Olympic tournament came to an end after his loss to top seed Lee Chong Wei in straight sets.

He'll be so happy seeing this . He has battled so much and came so far . Nice to see an indian getting recognized. Good luck kashyap
I don't exactly remember when I fell in love with lee chong wei... Kashyap will always be my first love in badminton...
Being an Indian from Malaysia, the last match gave me goosebumps. Humbled to have witnessed it.
Are you kerelite originally?

Never really saw men's badminton. It's on a whole different league. Incredible speed.
Kashyap parupalli And Saina nehwal best jodi ever.
❤
He is not the best player out there but we gotta respect each and every one who tries their hardest like him
Also kudos to him he has one beautiful jump smash
I still remember after this I become admirer of Lee chong wei.
Lol😂
Congratulations to the Purupalli Kashyap.
what superb smashes 🎉🎉. even the great LCW was taken aback
Similarly in 2016, Srikanth reached Quarters but was knocked out by Lin dan
Srikanth got there by defeating tough opponents
@phenom srikanth also defeated LCW in straight sets. I think it's in commonwealth games.
Those smashes 🔥
And lakshya sen first Indian male in semi final ❤❤
An inspiration! 🏸
See the draws were non badminton country players so he did it. This is not an appreciation level.
Incredible smash speed by Kashyap
So nice to see you !!
The first was pullela gopichand. You are giving fake information😡😡

Ghanta proud , koi bhe medal nhi la pays
Geez the olympic org really wants to tap into the Indian market I guess.
They are now even showing medal-less performances.

This video got more views than some gold medal performances lol
Maybe true but he is our best male performance ,shouldn't we watch our best performance
And I will become first to win a gold medal
Remember me I'm samuel paul I will be on 2025 Olympics

Best of Luck bro❤️
And i will rule whole world 😈
Next time don’t put music in the video. It’s annoying
this guy is no.1 in india
Badminton those days fiery ,now its changed .became girlish game too soft playing dropshots ,tricks ..no hardhitting shots or smashes no fiery play .
Which bubble do u live in??
Are u from Mars or time traveller from some other age, Praveen..? Wake up and see badminton... in a device called TV...
It's a girlish game if you play infront of your home with kids and cousins. Participate once atleast in intre college tournament, you will know the level of badminton.
Go Indiaaaaaa!!!❤️

Case of easy opponents ! Nothing great. Srikanth Kidambi is better player always.
Srikhanth is 7 yrs younger than Parupalli Kashyap. You can't compare them..

In india badminton is not really men's sport from start that's why there are not many names
Ya true becoz for India girls has got more medal in badminton so people in India think it is a girls dominant sport but thou in other countries they don't think like this.
That doesn't mean that if this respective gender has got more medal than the other gender so these sport belong to these respective gender. This sport is meant for everyone. Hope people in our country India will understand.
India😍

Legend Lee really didn't want to hurt young Kashyap, he was going bit easy on him.

Wowwwww
Wow ❤️❤️🤩🔥🤩
Log kehte hai badminton ladkiyo ka khel hai.....lekin ye video dekhar mai keh sakta hu ki mera favorite game badminton hai
No one says it's a girl's game.. Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu won medals so it's more famous as female sport but in Reality, males and females are equal. Lakshya Sen will win Olympic medal, then it'd be famous in men too
Lol who says that? The game requires much more stamina, agility, precision and technical knowledge than cricket
Hoo haa
is he still playing now?? or has been retired?
He is husband of Saina Nehwal, another top level female Badminton player..
@@PrakashSharma-ez1ce their marital status isn't what's relevant here, that's not what they asked. what they asked was that is he still playing or retired?
@@EnnuiOn u must be fun at parties.. that was just a normal convo..
