I rented a villa for 6 mos, just to check it out. While I ultimately decided to move on, I have to admit - it's a pretty amazing place!! It's gorgeous, CLEAN, and tons of activities available if you want to stay involved and active. I absolutely recommend the TV.
I would never want someone telling me what color to paint my house, pay HOA fees, not have neighbors who are young and old. Too many rules, I'm happy at home. That would never feel like home.
Exactly. Sounds too controlled over all. When I think of retirement, I also don't think of taking classes, going to a public pool space or playing bingo LOL It's also too expensive for what sounds like a community center atmosphere around the clock.
True!!!
How about the villages sucking the water reservoirs dry from the surrounding area and pricing lifetime local residents out of their homes?
We live near the Villages & visit with friends there . Last night in fact. I have to disagree with you on the diversity issue. We rarely see children or teenagers at the events we attend. I saw one person of color at the restaurant last night & he was part of the wait staff & absolutely none at the square. This part of Florida doesn't roll out the welcome mat for minorities, for sure. And don't get me started on the golf carts.
Wait your saying you think they are different toward brown & black folks?
People who want to move to the villages do. Those not interested find what they like elsewhere. Pretty simple for heavens sake.
Minority? % wise, how many people are white in the USA. Poor whites all over the place.
We go to the brownwood square several times a week and there are Always children on the dance floor…
Wonder if they have a gay pride 🏳️🌈 parade??? 😂😂😂
The Villages sound great to me! The only reason I couldn't move there is due to family issues. My husband has been disabled for ten years and our kids live nearby to we can see them often and they will help out. Otherwise it sounds great to me! I just try to keep busy with friends and activities in the community where we raised our kids.
The fact that so many people are pitching The Villages tells me stay away!
140,000 people live here in this 85 square mile community and most of them love it. We aren't pitching anything. The place sells itself for those interested in what it has to offer.
@@angelamasson-fashionover50 You sound like a brain washed Stepford wife😂😂
I think the fact that trump began his FL campaign in The Villages says something about the community make up. Candidates choose to begin campaigns in the home of their base supporters.
well...I lived in Las Vegas when trumpers drove down the Strip in their trucks with the trump and us flag flying and the majority of people I knew we not trumpers
Yuk to the Villages. 🤮🤮🤮 . Lots of recent crime. Big increase in population and growing!
So happy living in The Villages. The weather, the people, and the beautiful villages, a million things to do if you want to or not. Wish I came sooner😎🌞🌹🌷🌹🌹💕🌻🌻💕👍🏻
@@patriciapennell893: Crime? What crime?
I've never seen a picture of the Villages that had a person of color in it, ok well maybe a token Asian, lol. Kind of similar to the Republican party, all mostly white males. No thanks.
Ok… do what you want and what you like! No shade! BUT, I’m 55. I feel like I’m 35. I love the kids and teenagers in my neighborhood! I cannot imagine living in a “community” of older people with no kids playing and riding bikes and laughing. Seems sad and depressing. But that’s just me! 🥂
It's not for everyone but we like the quiet evenings in quiet neighborhoods. If we want to see kids, they'll be in the public areas of the town squares, stores, or restaurants.
Don’t u miss your grandchildren? They keep us young and bring so much happiness and joy to our lives. Would never consider moving away from them. Just my opinion.
@@angelamasson-fashionover50- local houses of worship have folks of all ages.
As do area towns like Leesburg etc.
Where you can shop, dine, visit parks, springs & libraries.
Local colleges & museums host events, exhibits & guest speakers.

So true but that's OK!!!!!❤
Our new house ( 2021) insurance with Progressive went from $900 to $1,650. this year. Some Insurance companies are leaving Florida. I believe it IS an issue
I recently got a quote from Progressive for car insurance and it was $3600/yr for 1 vehicle.
I would need to drink heavily if I lived in The Villages.

I have heard a common complaint that the restaurants' food is disappointing.
We've found some better places but it's not up to the standards of the big cities around America.
I agree on the restaurant food being disappointing by the choice of healthy menu options, both in the Squares where the bands play, and how expensive it is to dine out. Groceries are much higher and produce is limited for organic.
Noticed that you did not mention anything about health care. For a community of older people, that is a major concern. How many physicians and other health professionals are there per capita? And how many good quality hospitals are there in the area?
Perfect
Shands UF is about 60-75 minutes north of TV in Gainesville.
It is a top rated teaching hospital, should the need for complex care arise.
This Gator rates it A+.
FL healthcare being notoriously bad is famous up here I MI via the experience of snowbirds.
It is easy to be offended that people define diversity mainly as race when you aren't the only person of color in a setting. My husband is extremely comfortable in White settings, but we have experienced subtle exclusion in settings that are a vast majority White. We went on a Viking river cruise and he was literally the only Black person on the ship- including staff and crew. While some people were hospitable and warm, others were not. So while I agree that diversity is more than just race, it is a significant issue for some of us to find a place that is completely welcoming.
I don't know what it's like to walk in another person's shoes but the people we've met from other ethnicities are enjoying themselves here as much as anyone.
Found that part of it funny. Going to extraordinary efforts to defend an apparent lack of diversity.
@@andrewchenkus5115why a need to defend? Blacks congregate and exclude more than anyone.
Serious question, is it wrong to just not notice a person's skin color? I wish it wasn't even a consideration. I just try to judge a person on their character. I personally wouldn't care what color your husband's skin was.
@@hd4100 I respect that you are trying to recognize people for their character and sometimes a person's race/ethnicity has had major impact on their actions. For example, until I met and married my husband, I never understood why some people would run from the police unless they were guilty- it seemed like a respect issue when in fact, prior interactions of their own or ones they have witnessed would create real fear and the smarter decision was to get to help. I was surprised when I heard my husband teaching his boys how to respond to a police stop- it was "be polite and respectful", but it also included keeping their hands at the top of the steering wheel at all times- something I had never considered or been taught. Some lives are a bit more complicated than others- and it isn't all about race and sometimes it is.
I just can’t take the sun and the heat. Glad I chose the TN Smoky Mountains. Thanks for dispelling some of the myths.
I stayed there for a few days and had a wonderful time. I talked with all sorts of people about all sorts of things and politics rarely came up. I'm 56. And LOL as for the swinging, I inadvertently went to a partner dance class by myself and nobody ever loaned me a partner to dance with. Nice video!
Not an HOA, it is an amenity fee that covers all the things to do, not covering things like lawn care, roof care etc. our Amenity fee is 180 a month. When we came 6 yrs ago it was 145. Our home owners insurance was 800 six years ago, now 1700.
Historic inflation has occurred so I understand why they had to raise the rates. None of us want them to cut corners on what we get for that money. I think they only raise the fee on your move in anniversary date because ours is still $175 but others are claiming they pay as much as $189. Or maybe they raise it in January if they are needing to raise it but in our case, January was was also the month we moved in.
@@angelamasson-fashionover50 it is raised on your anniversary date of the purchase if your house using the current COLA. I called the Villages office and asked why the jump each year.
I’m new to your channel. Thank you for sharing. I’m just curious do you live part-time in Florida and part-time in another state? I appreciated your story on your back pain. I’m glad you’re doing so much better! Enjoy.🥰
Actually, as someone who is 64 yo and living in a 55+ community in CT I've always heard The Villages was like Disney for old people. Fantasyland, not Swingerland. Especially for men.
🌺As a 40 something black woman who is actually conservative with good credit, my husband is over 50, I am still a little hesitant to believe that this community is welcoming to us. We would love to live there and add value to the community.
It was nice to meet your hubby!😊
The Villages wouldn't be for me..But yes, live & let live !!
Great video and welcome back. True on the costs. My insurance only increased $100 and that was because i added my golfcart. Same with taxes, everyone is concerned but mine dropped this year.
Thank you!!
My husband and I came for the Lifestyles visit last October (loved it!) and will soon be looking for a home in TV. Although it is amazing and we can't wait....the biggest concern I have is just being away from my adult children and other family. When our children settle down and have their own families I don't know if I'll be able to stay away....
Awww, you two are so cute together! Just adorable 🥰
I think this great for people that enjoy the social and weather. I personally will be retiring here in Michigan. I love the cold , snow and all the activities that come with it. So I'm not gonna complain about something just because it is not my thing. I say have fun in your retirement and do your thang. OH and can I throw a kegger in my back yard?
I love this video. Makes me want to move to the Villages!
It’s currently $189/month, not $175. And, how about that the insurance companies REQUIRE you to replace your roof every 12-15 years? That’s about a $20,000 inconvenience!
That’s nuts!
Ours is $176. Apparently they will change ours to $189 on the anniversary date of us moving in. They must not change the fee mid-year. I would want a new roof if we stay in this house that long but maybe that's one of the reasons the average Villager moves 2-3 times while living in the Villages.
FLORIDA INSURANCE COMPANIES REQUIRE YOU TO GET A NEW ROOF EVERY 10 YEARS
Great video!!!
This video must be to promote sales. We have lived here in the newest section 2 years. There is minimal, and I mean minimal diversity regarding skin color. The area is mostly Christian with only 1 or 2 Jewish Temples all the way to the top of the Villages. However, there are Jewish folks here. Yes, you see kids at the squares and it’s sweet, however, they are usually grandkids and the squares are open to the PUBLIC. So, they are very crowded. We are the only entertainment around, therefore Wildwood and Leesburg residents come as well. The Essential Learning classes sell out in 20 mins. Classes such as cardio drumming, line dancing and water aerobics require you to show up in line 1 hour ahead or you don’t get in. There are pickle ball snobs and many groups require a rating. So, you need to register to be rated. There are younger people here in their 50’s. Many in fact. So you may not be playing pickle ball much as there are formal groups taking up the court times. We love table shufffleboard. We found out while our family visited that there is a 20 minute limit! That’s 2 games. Everything is scheduled. Everything! You feel like playing table tennis, wait until Saturday at 12 noon through 3:00 p.m. Or, you may find what you want in a rec center 20 miles up the road. Unless you golf a lot, you could find yourself refusing to get caught up in the crowds and staying home much too often. By the way, there is no gym here included in your amenity fee. Be advised You can join their gym for another $400.00 EACH annually. So most flock to a public gym nearby in the square. Then those are crowded too. The Villages is beautiful.. nothing like it. Most people are very very nice but you will need to work at getting into a group of neighbors for friendships. Many people have friends here already or family nearby. It’s hard to beat the beauty.
Mark is 60! Mind blowing, dang Mark you look 10yrs younger.
Thank you for sharing your life.
Mark eats loofahs off golf carts to stay young…. 😎🤩🤣
I tried living the 55+ lifestyle and couldn’t do it. The one thing you didn’t mention are the HOA rules and endless announcements. I did find that many lives revolved around drinking, politics were brought up a lot! And yes, there were enough swingers to make a day at the pool annoying. 😅
I suppose if you look for just about anything, you can find it among 150,000 residents. We like he HOA rules. It keeps the place looking beautiful without people doing whatever they feel like because it keeps all of our property values higher. Politics haven't been brought up at all in our circle of acquaintances. Drinking alcohol is prevalent but not a requirement.
Great review!are y’all back down here one day I’ll get the hubby to check it out ..
I am glad you guys are having a great time there. I wonder if The Villages is mostly people from Michigan...all the people I have met that live there are from Michigan.
It must have gone over my head about the lougha ??? Agree about the Community offers , Thanks ❤❤
Good overview. If you add the cost of the bond to the HOA, it starts to add up to real money monthly. I live in central Florida close to Disney. Insurance rates have skyrocketed since I move here 8 years ago. And if you have a roof over 10 years old, you must get a new roof or be dropped. If you guys are paying only $1,200 for insurance, you have one heck of a deal...but you'll be paying a lot more shortly. We are experiencing yearly rate increases of about 45% per year, in some cases doubling. Automobile insurance is also very high and jumping. Also if you have a golf cart, you must have a policy on that too. Home owners insurance won't cover it or the liability. But the cost of that isn't bad, anywhere from $100-$150/yr.
All valid points but we just got our home insurance bill and it only went up modestly. Ours cars are insured in Michigan where we still live but I heard the rates in Florida are high. The development bond is a fair point and amounts to about $100 a month because we lucked out on the cost of the bond. It didn't even play a role in us picking which Village to live in, we just were very fortunate. Some areas are just more expensive for The Villages to develop than others. Don't overlook home values. To date anyway, people have made a very good return on their investment in The Villages though that is not why we bought here.
The loofah thing sent me over the edge laughing. I'd never heard this before!! That was hilarious.
My house insurance in TV is about $300 more than what I paid in MO for my 28 yr old home that I paid less than $100,000 for - however, my car insurance is ridiculous - $2, 500 for my 2008 Prius and 2012 ACE rv - and I have excellent credit and no accidents. Amenity fee is now $189 (I bought in May 23) but still a bargain for all you get. Clubs usually have a fee equal to or less than what you'd pay anywhere else. Almost everyone is here because they want to be, not because of their job or happenstance. I choose to be here where I can walk on level, smooth pavement, have beautiful views, good weather, and meet some of the nicest people. I can't count the # of times I have pulled over to check directions and have had someone stop to ask if I need help .
...wait, what? Clubs in TV are fee-based?
WOW What Insurance Company do you have??? I live in Cape Coral Florida and my insurance IS FREAKING 6,000 A YEAR‼️☹
We use The Villages insurance company. Your home may be much more valuable and since you are on the coastline, your home is in much more danger of possible hurricane damage or storm surges. There has never been any hurricane damage in the 40-year history of the Villages since we are over a one hour drive to either coast.
I’m glad the rumors keep some people away! Can you imagine how crowded it would be here if everyone knew how great it is??❤
Good point!!
Don’t worry once people become familiar with Florida homeowners insurance unavailability, windstorm coverage rates and auto insurance prices there will be a mass exodus.
@@jeffreyantell7117 I hope so!! Florida is the fastest growing state in the country. Paradise is getting crowded!

There is a village in Waterloo. But no great weather. There are apts, towhomes and other side of the campus is retirement style living, and then a nursing home. Allows couples to live close but apart if needs are different. Lots of tours trips to take with them, but MO golf course on site. I looked up a studio apt, no meals, a nerve 4000 a month. Cough cough.
Lol, good video, just an FYI the picture you took with your friends in the regret video, your friend was wearing a pineapple shirt. 😂 watch out for those swingers 😂
I used to work at CVS there. The traffic is horrible! The golf cart drivers do whatever they want, legal or not!

It sounds like my dream community. If I could, I'd live somewhere like The Villages. Sounds awesome to me!!! All of those activities, the community vibe, the golf carts...
You're adorable and your husband is adorable. 🩵🩵
It IS wonderful! Not at all what I expected when we came to visit… Even for those of us still working, it’s like a vacation! @@catherinereid1782 Sounds ideal! Luckyyyyy! Lol.
@@catherinereid1782 Glad you're happy. None of that appeals to me, as I adore very Historic places with cobbled streets. And our decision to make our 'forever home' in beautiful Europe . We visited America. We're all different, but Florida, LA , NY , not for me......
I have to laugh about the Loofah comment. A few months ago, I just watched a video that discussed the loofahs in The Villages. That next day, I pulled out of my apartment and saw an SUV with a blue and pink loofah hanging from the roof rack. I couldn't stop giggling. I tried to catch up with the SUV to see who was driving and traffic got in the way. I have to admit that SUI put a smile on my face. BTW, I'm coming for my second Village Tour in January to look for my new home. My first visit was so enjoyable, that I decided I would become a frog. Looking forward to joining the fun.
I thought it was you put a pineapple out at your front door?
Came across your video and enjoyed those 8 topics! That being said, we are still not interested in moving to The Villages. Not because of politics, diversity, or HOA, but because we just don't want to live in the middle of the State. Yes, living coastal is more expensive, but we'd rather move to Broward or Dade County, where we can be closer to the Ocean. Coming from NJ, we are about 45 minutes inland from Atlantic City, and would prefer that for our future retirement home. Who knows what will happen in 6-10 years (we're both 63) but by then, we may decide to stay in NJ anyway (we're just outside of Philadelphia).
The coast is beautiful but we were attracted to the activities and amenities the Villages has to offer. We visit the ocean or the gulf a couple times a year though. Lovely!
Just a recommendation, if you don't like traffic stay away from Broward and most definitely Dade. Always construction going on, lots of people on expressways that either drive 30 mph or 130 mph and costs of homes has become prohibitive. To live in a good neighborhood down there expect a small 3/ 2 ( around 1200 sq ft) to run you around $500k. I have lived in both counties and moved north on the coastline and are much happier.
My husband and I moved 7 years ago to The Villages from MI. We’ve never regretted it. I’m glad you and your husband are enjoying living here. I have heard all those misconceptions/rumors also and generally just laugh at it. As you said, we are here just to enjoy all that is offered. It may not be for everyone but it sure does suit us.
l
Thanks for the truth! Looking forward to the Dream!!!
#9 The Traffic down the main Hwy 27/441 is now horrible and due to non stop road construction Awwwww
Thanks for addressing those crazy rumors about The Villages! My husband and I have had a home here in The Villages for 2 years now and we love it! There is something for everyone here. Love all your other videos as well!
I live in a gated HOA in Port st Lucie west. I am afraid to see what the homeowners insurance is going up to. Its over 3 grand now! One of our customers moved to the villages and love it.
I looked at a couple of active adult communities last year when I turned 50. My biggest issue with the ones I saw (del Webb I think they were called) they were in South Carolina btw-was that you couldn't transfer your home to your children or anyone under a certain age. I'm fine with that now but as I said in previous comment it's just not The Hubs thing. Lol he doesn't like people that much! While he doesn't necessarily want to sit in the house all day...he only wants to be out on HIS property doing stuff.
People under 55 can own a home here but the only thing is no one under 19 can live with them full time. I'm not sure how they really enforce that though.
Just found your channel and enjoy watching you. I just have one comment about your house insurance not going up you are very lucky. I live in Winter Springs and our insurance went up $2,000
Finally I have found videos from snowbirds, we have been thinking about buying a place down there and yes we are younger (I'm 50 she's 42) but I am already retired, so we're looking at different places to snowbird to, we've looked into Arizona and now Florida, I'm a huge fan of the golf cart thing, we own one up here in Illinois and will be staying here during the summer, but I've been trying to find out info for the cost of utilities and things like yard maintenance, etc. while your away from your house down there for the summer, do you still have to pay things like the garbage fee, water, sewer, and run off? I'm sure you have to summarize your house down there just as much as you have to winterize your house up north, but how hard is it? No one has done any videos on this topic at all, the only "cost of living" videos are done by full timers, so any info you can give me would be great, thank you in advance.
My partner and I did a week-long lifestyle visit last month and I absolutely fell in love with The Villages. Sadly, although he tried to have an open mind, he ultimately decided that he doesn’t want to live that far away from his adult children. I’m brokenhearted.
Maybe try part time to start out. That’s what I plan to do first.
That's a legitimate concern. There are plenty of rentals, come for a season and have a good time.
It's not reasonable to expect him to move far away from his children , adults or not. You, presumably, entered the relationship knowing he's a loving father. You can accept his decision, or make him feel guilty and split up. Do you love him, or the Villages , more.? Presumably, you can't afford to move there, without his financial input. Another legitimate worry for him, and his kids, inheritance wise. No mother or father , worth their salt, will put a partner before their children. Consider enjoying the holidays there, together, as a compromise.
@@jacqueline8559 Because he didn’t want to, we decided not to move to TV. I didn’t expect him to move once he came to the realization that he couldn’t move that far from his adult children. But he didn’t come to that realization until after we returned home from our lifestyle visit. And, yes, if I chose to, I could absolutely afford to move there without his financial input.
Having 2 golf carts,a Lakehouse, etc, there is nothing in the that I dont already have.Central FL is so steamy but for a few months a year. The Gulf or Atlantic beachside is so nice to visit couple times a year.I remember seeing u 2 in another couples video where u were hiding your face
Thank you for clearing up misconceptions! I pay $325 in condo fees in CT, we get no classes, our property need maintenance and there are so many other issues! I’d gladly pay $175 per month for what you get!
The activities (clubs, classes, groups, music, performances, sports), beautiful and well-maintained community, fabulous and nearly overwhelming number of golf courses, pickleball, tennis, Rec centers, and other facilities… I, too, believe our amenities fees are worth every penny… massive bang for the buck compared with so many other places! Come on down!🤩
The amenities fee is now $189 in TV. Still a good deal IF you are very active.
I don't have a home but I have been there it's beautiful I would love to live there❤
@@catherinereid1782 sounds like a great idea. We can’t even get a street light fixed!
Great video, we also moved from Michigan a few years ago, and everything you mentioned our friends ask us about. The lofa and std seem to be the biggest joke. We are on our second home here and have never seen anything that resembles those false rumors. Take care and enjoy the good life in the Villages.
We are currently looking to build a house in TV. As of 10/2023 the amenities fee is $189. per month, still not high. However the bonds are going through the roof anywhere from $41k-$54k for 30 years with high interest rates that are not deductible.
Wow! Our bond was $17,000 just two years ago but others were much higher even back then. I understand it all depends on how expensive that particular plot of land is to develop.
Wow!!what are bonds is that taxes?
@@anzelac5808 The bond is over and above taxes. It has to do with how much money it cost to develop the area from a piece of farmland to something with streets, water lines, gas, electric, etc. Every homeowner pays an equal portion of that expense regardless of your home value.
@@angelamasson-fashionover50 yikessss!taxes and insurance is bad enough down here 🤦🏻♀️
The bonds is Lake County seem to be much higher than the bonds in Sumter County. Most of the bonds in this area seem to be 15K -25K
My friends moved to The Villages 5 years ago and loved it, but are moving to their new house south of Orlando next month. They are ¨so done with it¨ she said. Their biggest complaint is the rapid expansion south of them which is causing congestion on the roads and crowded stores. The distance to the big box stores is far, along with other little things.
There are tons of activities if you will make use of them, they just play cards all the time and don´t golf so are tired of paying for activities they aren´t interested in.
When I visit I always leave with an unsettling feeling; there is something unnatural about everybody I see being old. When we went to church outside of The Village, it was a sea of white hair, hundreds of people. They saved two pews for families.
There are thousands of people who love The Villages. Be sure that´s something you want because it is not for everyone.
No, it's not for everyone.
The growth really is not a problem because it is still very quiet in your own area
@@rhondawine1555 But the roads are getting very congested and building more lanes, it’s starting to become more like driving in Orlando suburbia.
I think it's entertaining that people come to the Villages from all over the country, then immediately start complaining about how everybody who comes after them is responsible for the overcrowding. OUCH! THE IRONY!!! I wish your friends the best, and good on them for finding their ways out of the Villages . Literally Everybody else in Florida sees the Villages as the spreading fungus that it is. No offense
And... Quick question... How can it be the nation'a friendliest hometown, when ABSOLUTELY NOBODY is originally from there? (I'm asking as a 13 year transplant myself)
Great video… I’m a life long Central Florida resident and the insurance rates have gone up some but most people think they are so high because a lot of insurance companies left the state.
Thanks Angela and Mark!
Great information to share with those playing "telephone" 😆 ....IF they care to know truth instead of fiction.
We are grateful to be new Villagers... less than 6 months.
Still pinching ourselves. 🍀
Your home insurance is very reasonable. I’m in the Tampa Bay Area and my insurance went from about 800 to 2400 in the last 2 years! Glad your enjoying your Florida home.
Wow that is a big increase in two years! That is a disgruntled topic I hear and the traffic. Most stay within the V and don’t have to deal w traffic.
I think it would be great to live in the Villages. But we end up buying closer to the coast. We love beach life ❤
Well I have lived here for 23 years and I love it. The only thing that you said that I can’t agree with is the amenities fee. Ours is now 187.00 per month and in 2001 it was 95.00
Interesting. Our's is still $175 so I am guessing they either change it once a year on your move in anniversary month or in January. In our case, January is our move in month. We'll see in a couple months what it does for us. Either way, we get a lot for that money and with historic inflation, the rate either had to go up or services needed to be cut.
@@angelamasson-fashionover50 yes I believe it is one time a year and I can’t think of anywhere I would rather be
My mom’s condo fees in Milwaukee are $450 and she got a $6,000 special assessment this year. And she doesn’t have a pool, golf, or any fun amenities. TV sounds very reasonable!
Agree with the hubby… it would make for some interesting dinner conversation 😂😂😂

I just came back from the Villages because of a family party and loved it so much that I’m going back in April for two weeks and I’m already looking at the village entertainment Facebook page to keep up with everything. Not sure if I could live in Florida year round because I do love my four seasons, but I could give up the cold winters in the northeast. I love the villages.
I enjoyed hearing comments from both of you. Thanks for clearing up some of the misconceptions and rumors.
Ok I don't know why you'd be offended when people are asking about diversity and are referring to someone's skin color - that is absolutely what I mean. If I'm the only black person in the room then it doesn't matter to me what everyone else's "cultural" background is or what part of the world they are from - I'm still the only black person in the room! And that matters to some people. It can very uncomfortable so don't mock skin color as a meaning of diversity.
Uncomfortable? Hmm
Great video, some people have no idea what's really happening here
You two are too cute!! Can't wait to move there
Amen! At 57 I just wanna enjoy the rest of my journey with love and laughter and happiness ❤
Peace and Love Sylvia
I’m from florida and yes the villages are so beautiful never lived there but just driving by…. Yeah I’d live there for sure. Just gorgeous
We live on the coast of Florida and our insurance rates have gone up, even though we had no damage to our home.
Well said
Sounds like a fun place to live!
When I was a kid I seen them building the Villages when we traveled between Orlando to my Aunt and Uncle's that lived in Ocala, I'm 70 now but I live in the country in North Florida now which I'm happy about, wouldn't want to live anywhere near Orlando now!
Loved his video. Thanks for it! Just wondering if you own or lease the land your house sits on? Are there property taxes as well as HOA fees? Thanks (if you see this)
You got lucky with insurance. Ours went up double over the past few years with no claims. Our utilities are underground and we’ll build communities. We can’t figure it out
I loved this this info! The politics was something I thought would turn me off but glad to see both parties are represented. It looks like a great community👍🏻
Yes, we were grateful to discover first-hand that the rumors we had heard of FL and The Villages were wildly exaggerated and, by our experience, untrue.
We have wonderful friends here who fall on opposite ends of the political spectrum, but have rarely even heard politics discussed.
The people we have encountered here have been so welcoming, inclusive, kind, non-judgmental, and thoughtful - WONDERFUL place! 🤩💗✌🏻
@@catherinereid1782hello 🤗
Seeing the occasional flag other than the USA flag is a bit of a turnoff for me.
@@noreenn6976 I like seeing a purple flag with a cute fluffy bunny and Easter eggs on it in the springtime. My in-laws HOA allows for that, by the way.
I think it looks and sounds awesome. So glad you love it. I want to rent there with my husband someday to check it out. ❤️
Such a fun and informative video!
When she retired, my mother-in-law moved closer to one son and just sat, watching tv for a decade. There was a Senior Center where she could've made friends but she said she it was for old people. After she developed Dementia she's been in a Nursing Home. I wish she'd been open to making friends and having fun.
Maybe you could have asked someone, from the Centre, to introduce themselves to her and invite her to visit? Many people find just walking into such a place , alone, to be frightening and intimidating.
Hi Angela, I love you guys so much. Your husband is just great!
I would never move to Florida let alone the villages but you did a nice job on the video.
I moved next door to the Villages in Summerfield Fl. A 55+ place but gated and not in The Villages. I like it here too, I don't golf so I like that I'm not paying for that feature with my dues. I do live on a golf course though and the wildlife is very relaxing. Also, the homes are not new, made in the early to mid 2000-2010s but are farther apart and have more privacy (without needing walled fencing). Great to be in this area, near The Villages (but I've lived in Florida most of my life, so I like Florida)!
What about shopping at Home Goods, TJ Max, Hobby Lobby, Kirklands, Micheal's and Macy's?
They just opened a Hobby Lobby in The Villages! There is Marshall’s/Home Goods, TJ Maxx, Target, Bealls, Walmart, Soma, Michael’s, nice smaller shops. BJ’s, Sam’s Club…
No big malls with Macy’s, though… one has to drive a while to a large city…. But within 45 min or so!
Thank you to both of you. This is such good information. I wish I was able to move down sooner then later. I'm Canadian so its a bit more difficult for me.
Watched the video and really liked the subject.
I decided to follow the channel only to find out that it is for ladies fashion over 50 😂😂😂
Anywho, I washed the second video about the village. Enjoyed both videos.
I already follow a fashion over 50 for men lol. Maybe a second channel is in order 🤔
Thanks for the video and maybe I’ll be there in five years.
To each his own .. I visited relatives in TV 14 years ago thinking it was a hokey kind of place .. surprise !! By the time we left I was ready to buy a home there !! Having yet but it’s a great active community 😊
The Villages are a beautiful place to be, period. Don't believe these rumors, and if some people chose to believe it thats too bad, they are truly missing out. Next!
I lived on the gulf coast of Florida for 3 years and it was so beautiful this time of year. We used to ride bikes, walk the beaches, and go for a dip in the pool after dinner every night. I have since moved back North to be closer to family (my parents are in their 80s and starting to have some health issues) but we still try to keep active with lots of walking and bike rides, and we have a fabulous pool in our condo. We keep talking about going back down to Florida someday, but explore a different area. The Villages looks like a nice place to check out.
It’s wonderful that you can be near your parents now…🙏🏻💗
Do come down tomThe Villages and check it out for yourselves! Book a Lifestyle Visit - the “try on living here” vacation! Depending on time of year, $99-$199/night (no hotel taxes, resort fees, parking fees) and get your own, detached 3bd/2ba home with golf car, 2 bikes, golf and movie / performance tickets… it’s wonderful!🤩
No thank you. The place is too divisive. And I've never seen a single person who isn't a White Trumper there.
I’m glad you two are happy there.
I’m happy in Oklahoma.
Home is where your heart is.
You and Mark will be happy as long as you are together❤
Thank you so much for the info!
You guys are so funny and a good looking couple also.😊
My sister loves it there. She said there’s something to do every day.❤
Luv ur hair cut
My parents moved there. My Mom can't hold still with all there is to do and my Dad enjoys his serenity at times....make it your own and who doesn't like to drive a Golf Cart (?) people there are "rules" but really there are rules no matter where you live. Enjoy the warmth of the Sun you worked for it.
