Hollywood should take notes because these movies are how you do fight scenes none of that video game cutscene nonsense
So many reasons why I love this movie. It brings back Eguchi (Saito Hajime) and Fukuyama (Hiko Seijuro) who played brothers in Under One Roof ひとつ屋根の下 (1993), Taka of One Ok Rock and Sato Takeru (Kenshin) are friends and have appeared together in radio and video interviews, Fujiwara Tatsuya (Shishio) (Battle Royale, Death Note, Shinsengumi) and Aoi Yu (Megumi) are 2 of my favorite actors. And the fight sequences are the best. But behind all the special effects and comedy, there are hints at the real underlying politics and conflicts during the Meiji period that led to the militarization of Japan and portray what happened to the samurai class more faithfully than those typical westernized movies like the Last Samurai.
It is also closely tied to the Taiga Ryomaden, same director, Meiji Era with Samurai, and most of the actors played a role in both
