Wow, it's almost 2022, I just finished watching President Clinton speaking in 2012 at CGIU and was so impressed at his inspirational answers to student questions then he mentioned this historical event that happened on my 21st birthday. President Clinton asked future President Mandela if he hated his oppressors. His response was yes, but I had to leave behind after walking out of the gate otherwise he would forever be imprisoned in his mind and unable to move forward. He made them part of his cabinet and invited them to inauguration. I have kept myself imprisoned since divorce in 2008. Slowly but surely I am freeing myself and today I am a step closer to taking up where I left off. Working and contributing to my society.
That's the power of holding on, not giving up despites the challenges that might come across your way. Whatever the mind can conceive, believe and if action is taken, the mind can achieve it. You might face great challenges on the way but certainly you will be victorious if you don't quit.
After so many years I listen to the audio book Long Walk to Freedom which I find very informative on Nelson Mandela life & his struggle to Freedom in dismantling the Apartheid system in his country. His personal sacrifice has made it possible for all South Africa to be rule under one system. Also thank to his wife Winne Mandela for never giving up on him. I salute you Mr Nelson Mandela as one of my Hero's in forgiving & peacefully negotiating the end to an evil Apartheid system. May your soul rest in peace.
I have vivid memories of how we never saw Madiba in years as there were no images of him during his time in incarceration and how happy we were to see him upon his release.
Nelson and Winnie are resuscitated, they live the wonderful and glorious life of the Angels of Mr. Dibis Nguembock's paradises - made of eternal youth and eternal happiness.
With0ut prejudice to anything that he did for us, when one is released from prison at that age, having been held captive for such a long time, wisdom prevails. And Cape town is where one ones to be home forever. Mr. Mandela's first steps are significant.....
I stayed off school to watch this. An incredible human, a person of dignity, strength, determination and an incredible insight into how forgiveness can sow the seeds of a better future for all. Apartheid was smashed by South Africa; by a people determined to live together. Israel would do well to listen, watch and learn.
Mister Nelson Mandela past by very slow in a black limosine. Escorted by six police man on motor to the city center of Leiden, Holland. Mister Nelson Mandela had the window of the limosinedoor open all the way and looked me right in the eye. Me sitting at +/- 3 meter on the sidewalk. clapping my hands and chear his name. He was smiling all the time and waved his hand greeting me with a subtle wink of the head. I was so inpressed by his warm and friendliness in his eyes, and it was a great honer too me. I will never forget that day. Hope He can be free forever !
I wonder how it is there now , they didn't make it easy on both sides , can't imagine what its like to be treated as they were and to fight just to be treated normally is beyond comprehension to me , and its not that long ago there or America,we have shameful pasts as do the UK , unfortunately it still goes on behind closed doors , amazing man , amazing ability to forgive and believe ,and eventually he won ,
You can go to jail and return to live a normal life but you cannot go to Hellfire and come back for all eternity. Repent from your sins and give your life to CHRIST.
What defines a person is NOT what they say but what they do(ACTION speaks louder than words!!!) Have the black people in SA regain back control over their land and mineral resources like the programmed obedient frauds/neo-colonialists in the ANC had promised to do in their so-called freedom charter-"The national wealth of our country, the heritage of South Africans, shall be restored to the people; the mineral wealth beneath the soil; the banks and monopoly industries shall be transferred to the ownership of the people as a whole; all other industries and trade shall be controlled to assist the well-being of the people." Was it not the "economic apartheid" imposed on the black majority by the white minority (and their euro-american collaborators) that was behind the racial oppression of black south afrikans ?
My question to the people with white skin. Is this what you call democracy and human rights when you detain a person in his own country to spend 27 years in prison? That's why I don't believe in the word democracy and human rights. I will rather respect God's principles and my culture. All these human and man-made statements are child's play and contextual. If a black person did it, its violation of human rights but if a white person did it. He or she is exercising their duties. That's nonsense.
My name is Kunta! All the way to the very end - I remain KUNTA. I care not, for the inconvenience of that FACT to anyone on earth. I can not change who I am for ANYONE.
Interestingly none of the fawning commentary mentions the innocent civilian victims of terrorism murdered by Mandela's ANC, some with the direct sanction of Saint Mandela.
Man on Mandela's right...Cyril Ramaphosa who is the current president of SA. The man to Winnie's left...Jacob Zuma, former president and predecessor to Ramaphosa.
Winnie Mandela, Steve Biko, Fidel Castro the youths who were murdered by the pale face demons in SA are the real heroes of the struggle for change in SA and NOT this programmed obedient turncoat Nelson Mandela.

on that day nobody was free in South Africa. And Mandela messed up the change as he failed to organise a redistribution of wealth. The result is to bee seen eg. in Khayelitsha today.
Winnie is Our African Mother that never leave Mandela in a difficult tyms bt when Mandela comes out of prison he dumped Winnie bt I salute Winnie more than Nelson Mandela
Are you not aware of how winnie misbehaved around with young boys and whored herself everywhere? It is these issues that broke mandela's heart when he came to learn of them.though winnie's contribution to the struggle must be revered as well.
True legacy u left for us to learn. But is so sad some African president will never give a thought to their own legacy instead they are diex as evill presidents and
''The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.'' - Nelson Mandela

It‘s just a pitty that Mr. De Klerk never faced a court and sentenced to prison for lifetime without parole.
