This is so amazing! I'm currently gathering my wits and put a budget on making my own prosthetics one of these days.. (sadly not on time for Halloween, but I'm really eager to learn and practice!) And your tutorials are of definite help and has guided me on all my sfx attempts! Thank you so much for posting this! :)
***** ah! so you are self taught. I was just going to ask. Gives me hope that maybe i can just start learning at home. Ive attended makeup school, but only basic application. Nothing fun other than airbrushing and "avant garde" looks.
lol i saw the picture of this sculpt on instagram and try to make one my self....i only have latex lol. it came out looking like the top flap of free Willy with a rash wahahha.
Might be a dumb question, since the application involves dissolving the cap plastic, but each silicone prosthetic is only good for one application, right? Or is it more like a latex prosthetic where you can blend out the edges with 3rd degree, scar wax, or gelatin and reuse the piece? My assumption is that it's only good for one professional application with a seamless edge, then every other time it's used, it's more of a not-so-close-up piece lol
Hey, I was wondering what you need to pigment the silicone, I have gel 10 and I'm gonna buy some flocking powder, what else do I need and how do I use it properly?
***** There's pigments specifically for silicone. I was using these ones: www.mouldlife.net/mouldlife-silicone-pigments-1197-p.asp You only need a small drop because they're veyr pigmented, and you add it into the silicone when you're mixing it, before pouring :) or how I used it in this video, mixing it into the silicone before painting it on.
I have a quick question though.. what is the purpose of the naphtha in the zippo lighter fluid?.. I was wondering about it.. sorry for the trouble! Just overly curious..
Awesome! You're really talented Kiana :)
