Nirvana is one of the most influential rock bands ever. Their sound helped create what became known as "grunge" music. Dave Grohl was the drummer for Nirvana. He is known today for leading his own band the Foo Fighters, as well as being a modern rock legend. Dave's drumming style is very unique and authentic. He is a powerhouse drummer and incredibly consistent in the parts he plays in Nirvana's music.
Let's learn the song "Lithium" from their biggest album Nevermind, which was released in 1992. Lithium is an incredibly fun song to play. The parts in each section of the song are very consistent. In the lesson at simpledrummer, I break down each section of the song so that you know exactly how to play the parts. Then we'll practice them together in the looping play-along videos. noooo I don’t have a ride cymbal on my drum kit :(
That’s ok. Play the part on the Hi-Hats until you have one. You could probably find a cheap ride cymbal on the buy and sell.
Just got mine and it has an 18 crash/ride that only seems to work as a ride but I'm using open hats for the crash
